TFS 😊, he said they were shooting for a year now , WOW how many episodes of bank they have then 😊, I though they just have 2 weeks of bank episode that will be somewhat 12-14 episodes, but looks like they have shot some more flashback scenes and will use it soon

Thanks so much for sharing that. Now I really envy Sanjeeda for getting to have lunch with him in his dressing room. How lucky she is!!

Although I wouldn't agree with some of his stylist's choices, some of the outfits are too bright and not subtle at all.

What he meant that time tv medium was too small;few channels;low budget ;it all changed from kyunki saas bhi times;television awards shows started.Today people dream to be tv star becoz it makes you household name. Its makes you popular overnight. Its also a society changer;it can bring change in society. The stds of tv have rised.

Ofcourse this has nothing to do with popularity that he got from his first show.Like that aren't shows like ramayan and mahabharat remembered till today. There were good shows produced that time also. Its just medium was small.

The sentence he said was broad.
If he meant money and remuneration of actors then he is right.

But not otherwise. TV had huge audience and actors used to have own base. So what if there was no fan site on internet? Awards were there for television given by Screen and Sansui. People like Neena Gupta and Kanwaljeet Singh have won them in 90s.
Couple of actors from mytho shows even got headstart in politics cashing on their image on TV. Mukesh Khanna still earns loads from Shaktimaan comics, cartoons, toys.

From the time Vatsal entered TV the production values had increased. I remember a Zee TV serial was also shot entirely abroad. Dastaan. In Mauritius or Dubai I guess. It ran around same years as Just Mohabbat.

Regarding style, an actor gets wardrobe and set up according to the role. Vatsal was playing only a 17-18 year old middle class boy in Just Mohabbat. What special style and fancy set up would be there for a regular teenage character?
See title song of Heena. The clothes, make up, jewellery are impeccable.

Content and talent wise Indian television was miles ahead in past. Production values were low in early shows of Doordarshan and Zee. But from mid 90s it changed.

Shekhar Suman was so popular that he made it to list of highest earning Indian entertainers thanks to Movers and Shakers in 1999.

TV has grown a lot now but it was not "too small" earlier. There might have been few channels but they had loyal audience. It was appointment viewing for liked serials . There was no internet penetration so TV
got even more eyeballs as it was only source of entertainment.

I feel Vatsal should be proud that he is one of the rare actors on TV today who was popular even in 90s, youth heartthrob back then and even now. Others don't have the feat which he has.

My intent was not negative in my first comment. Do not misunderstand please.

@bold:You feel vatsal should feel proud...and why do you think he isnt proud of the fame he receieved in 90s

your statement itself "I disagree with him when he says TV was not huge in 90s. Hello! Majority still remember you from Just Mohabbat only and not the movies you did!"

then here "What special style and fancy set up would be there for a regular teenage character? "

your statements make me feel that u feel that actor vatsal isnt proud of his tv achievements in 90,you feel he was expecting some awards at that time too.

You have totally misundertood vatsal ,he spoke about the recognition he is getting now, through awards ,that does mean he is devalueing or degrading how tv was in past.He just spoke of changes in general.

black and white cinema is also remembered till today ,but cinema has grown so much throughout the years, but that doesnt mean in 1960 ,there were no good cinema...

The same way, vatsal spoke about how grand tv has turned into ,that really doesnt mean he isnt proud of the fame he received through just mohabbat.

This is what i guess people found negative in your comment ,you took in a different way.

You interpret it that way. I cannot clarify more than what I already wrote.

Did I say Vatsal is not proud?

You mentioned about style and production values. I just gave example that it depends on the role.

Most people either belittle the past and exaggerate present or bash present and glorify past. I feel artistes should choose words carefully and keep balance in interviews. For eg, Simone complains of work culture in TV now but does not make any broad comment on the whole medium. Even when she complains she also adds she owes a lot to TV. That is more balanced and diplomatic.

A broad statement is open to interpretation.

I disagreed with the words he is quoted to have said and still do. No bashing or misunderstanding intended on my part.

atominis:i still did not feel he belittled his past and exaggerate his present ;he being an actor who worked in the same medium found lot of changes ;he just spoke on them. Its natural for him. Some people are too diplomatic while other s not.I think this is one disadvantage of actors that their statements are overscutinised.
