There's not really much of an industry really. There was back in 70s, 80s, but it's been in shambles since.

Due to the stigma attached to films in Pakistan due to religious context, most of the educated artists (actors, writers, directors" went into the television industry (no songs, dancing, and very modestly realistically dressed actors).

Hence, Pakistani teleplays have always been quality work. And flourished throughout. Even back in the 80s people will remember the classics like Dhoop Kinare, etc.
I know my Indian friend's mom remembers Pakistani dramas back in the 80s.

The Pakistani FILM industry on the other hand was a lost cause for the longest time. They tried to ape bollywood, which backfired, coz people would much rather watch the original (which is the same language and culture anyway)

Lately though, the Pakistan FILM industry has seen a revival with some genuinely good films based on social issues, which is Pakistan's forte. And some talented writers have ventured in.

India- USA havent faught 4 wars in past 60 years.. nor do HW sent terrorists in India.. nor they have issues with Kashmir..
So BW trying to copy HW or BW artists wanna try their luck in HW isway diff. than Indo-Pak relations- issues... even thou if its in form of Art- Entertainment.

Thats the harsh reality.. accept it or not.

I personally have no probs with Pakistani artists trying their luck in BW and if they r talented enuff.. make it big. But there will always be some noise from both sides.

SRK once said "I wud rather be king in my own hut than be a slave in a palace".
