A comment from Bipasha Basu has forced Tanushree Dutta to go in for a makeover.

Recently, Bipasha Basu said on Koffee With Karan that Tanushree Dutta is one actress who needs a makeover.

Last week, the dusky actress had a new haircut and hired a stylist, Babita Malkani, who had previously styled Diana Hayden, Ishaa Koppikar and Geeta Basra.

The actress has also joined a gym to knock off the extra pounds.

Tanushree, who made her debut in Chocolate, one-and-a-half years ago has always been receiving constant criticism over her weight and clothes.

After the Bipasha episode was aired, many friends and relatives called Tanushree to check if she heard Bipasha's comments.

Tanu confessed, "Bipasha's comment didn't shock me." She admits that the criticism over her clothes wasn't groundless and blames poor stylists for that, "Being a newcomer, I couldn't put my foot down and demand the stylist of my choice.

Producers should be willing to hire good designers. Often, producers have big budgets for their films but cut costs by appointing such stylists. It's a case of penny wise, pound foolish."

But she has now decided to demand the stylist of her choice. She wants Babita to style her for her next project, elaborating on her weight loss Tanushree says, "I was skinny before I entered Bollywood.

I can blame irregular eating habits during shoots for my weight. Plus, I did a South film where I was instructed to increase weight. But it's all in the past now"

The actress is now in good shape and she attributes that to healthy eating and working out," I have cut down on carbohydrates. I don't eat a morsel after 8 pm.

I have hit the gym with a vengeance. And mind you, I am not on a crash diet.

If you stop eating something completely, you are bound to eat it in double quantity sooner or later. So why not exercise? I am also doing Kathak regularly," she adds.

About Tanushree's reinvention, Babita says, "In the colour pallate of nude cream, she looks vulnerable and sensuous yet subdued.

In the coral outfit, she looks very hep. This girl looks a hot chick now.

She will go a long way. Watch out for how I am going to accentuate her beauty.

I would love to dress her with boots and super coats. Colours like charcoal grey and eggplant would make her look elegant and sexy.

She should also wear pastel shades in blue and pink."

im proud of tanushree because instead of saying bad stuff to bipasha and defending herself she actually told everyone that she is changing her stylist and going to the gym...she respects the comments she got from bipasha...im very proud 😳

when bipasha commented on tanushree, bips was forthright, i saw tanushrees movies and i was aggravated with the type of clothes and make up she had, it seems she needed a good make up stylist, glad she realized it, recently in iffa she performed, and she looked great in her outfit, seems that she already hired a new fashion designer 😛
