He may not be the most sought after music director on the scene today with a new genre of music directors making their presence felt on the scene but Bappi Lahiri continues to have his share of select admirers, apart from the B. Subhash' and K.C. Bokadias in the industry. Recently Anupam Kher had the opportunity of working with the ever-enthusiastic Lahiri on the background score of his film, MAINE GANDHI KO NAHI MARA and Kher hasn't stopped raving about the music ever since. "Its one of the finest background score composed by any music director in recent times. I was looking at some really impressive background music, since the film is a song-less one and Bappi-da has done full justice to it. I am glad that I had the good luck of working with him," Kher reveals.

As for Lahiri, it was a unique experience of sorts. "I have done the background music for some really big films in the past but this one was something that I really enjoyed doing. The riveting storyline and the subject inspired me into giving it my best shot. Besides it reminded me about the good old days when Anupam had received an award for SARAANSH and I had received an award for my music in SHARAABI. We had complimented each other at that time and the good will remained thereafter," he recalls.
