According to the latest interview taken by a local newspaper in Pune, child artiste Rajat Tokas tells a lot of things about himself.Rajat, currently working for Sagar Brothers' Dharti Ka Veer Yodha-Prithviraj Chauhan tells the source that he is currently very busy with his project.The sets of the same are located in Baroda(Gujrat).Here is the chat:-
Q:Tell us about yourself-Born in Delhi's Munirka and lived there for a long time.I am my parents' only son.My father Ramveer is a swimming coach and works for Sporters Authority of India and my mother is a house wife.I wanted to be an actor from the very first beginning.I came to Mumbai around 2 years back and gave Prithviraj's auditions for which I got the lead role. I've worked for Sagar earlier also in Saibaba as Tantya.Presently I'm in Hope Hall Foundation School and I'm going to give 10th boards through correspondence.I want to study along with acting.
Q:How is the response? Excellent!!Many people recognise me now.
Q:What all did you do for your role? - Nothing much. I just gave a new style to my hair. I don't wear wig, they are real
Q:How do you feel playing the lead role? Any feeling of responsibility? - Yes ofcourse! Its fun too to play the lead role but they is burden of responsibility on the equal half. You can just speak lines infront of the camera. You need to do everything. You have to do fight, stunts, acting and all. I do all stunts myself.
Q:How is your behavior with the girl playing the role of Sanyogita, Mughda Chapekar? - We both are normal on set.We have different rooms where we rest or sleep.As she gave her BA final this year and she was busy in her studies, we could not spend time with each other much.
Q:What else are you doing except Prithviraj? - I recieve many offers with I want to do a diffetent type of role like Prithviraj. Don't want to work for Saas-Bahu serials.
Q:Have you thought of doing films? - I'll definitely do if I get a good role.
Q:What are your past times? - I like swimming. I even like to play games of my laptop.
Q:Who is your idol? - Amitabh Bachchan and Hritik Roshan are my faves.
Q:What is your big dream? - I want to become a very good actor. Beside this, I have a wish of become a nice director
The biggest money-spinner in the history of television is all set to rule your evenings. Sagar Arts has decided to have the most lavish set possible for Prithviraj Chauhan ~ Dharti Ka Veer Yoddha ~ sprawled over 10,000 square feet, employs 150 workers and involves a few crore. The serial, as you know, showcases every part of Chauhan's life ~ birth, marriage, wars and so on. You have read about the historical character and his might time and again in school. But how will it feel to meet Little Chauhan, like Chhota Birbal or Little Archie? Rajat Tokas plays the role of young Chauhan and thinks he can change the course of history.
Currently studying in standard IX, Rajat is excited for shootings to begin in full swing (for his roles). "I always wanted to play the role. He is my favourite historical character. Recently I was showed what a raja looks like, how he walks around and what he wears. In fact, friends have stopped calling me Rajat and instead call me Prithvi. The historic character has taught me to be kind, brave and not to take anything for granted," says Rajat.
While on the sets, Rajat says he walks around as himself but while taking a shot, he turns into Prithviraj Chauhan and dons his seriousness and aura. The Delhi-based student continues, "My standard IX examinations are over and so, I have nothing much to do. I read everyday and study. Only on Sunday am I allowed to watch television. My parents are very strict about education. Now that I am in Mumbai, they make sure I spend my time with books in the evening."
With Rajat learning the ways of the film industry quickly, will he turn towards acting as a full-time profession? "I like Steven Spielberg. Nobody else could have made Jurassic Park. It was so realistic. I want to be the next Spielberg. And if I fail, it will be a career in acting," continues Rajat, who has previously had a stint on Saibaba.
Currently Rajat is busy shooting the promos and early episodes of the serial. "Next year I will write my final examinations and so, I need to be serious. For the time being I will not think about anything else but the serial," he concludes, adding that concepts like 15 seconds of fame and so on have never crossed his mind. For Rajat it's the fun of being a part of history that matters most.
