Hey Leo... bear with me please. I haven't reacted like this to an episode before... so I am the one ranting on your post today. I am amazed by your neutral tone, and Ninja's positivity in hers š
Could we please call this one a filler episode? Actually lets just call the whole track filler, if you are upto it !!!
Ishita Ishita Ishita
Something happened to her between the time she stopped banging on the Iyers' door and came down to the famous bench. It was like someone took a big bucket of cold water and emptied it on her on her way down.
So, I am sitting here trying to analyse what Ishita was saying to TOshiji, and reconciling it with the emotions she portrayed yesterday, and here's what I came up with:
Option 1- She is still broken inside because of what Raman is asking of her, and the way he's been treating her. But she wants to maintain a facade of maturity and understanding in front of others. It was OK when she said those things to Ashok yesterday, but why not open up in front of Toshiji??? I fail to understand what she would achieve by hiding her pain in front of her mother-in-law who just told her that she was her mother!
Option 2- She really thinks she is mature and understanding and wants to support Raman. In which case, why was she crying? Why did she react the way she did in yesterday's episode?
Option 3- Is she that much in Love with Raman that she's forgetting her individuality? Maintaining your own identity is one of the keys to a successful relationship. They day you lose is when your partner loses respect for you too!
Option 4- She is plain confused. (Ninja pacified me with this one š)
If I had to find some name to her behaviour (other than inexplicable), I'd say she is exhibiting symptoms of Martyr Complex. Its colloquially referred to as the "mahaan aurat" syndrome of TV. I would really like for someone to explain this to me, I would like to repeat Ishita's dialogue from the other night "Aap hi bolo mujhe kya samajhna chaahiye". Please Ishita, tell me what to think of you???
Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing this character, I am dying to understand it! and I think Option 4 is the only one I could digest š
so Thank you NinjaWOW... that was my figurative "banging my head against a wall" moment.
Now that I am done with that...
Toshiji really showed us she was more intelligent than she lets on, you are so right about that! I never thought I would say one day that Toshiji was the redeeming factor of any episode. Granted, the Ruhi-Ishita scene was quite good too, but I felt a bit uneasy when Ishita used the ruse of the 'best parent' award to convice the child to go.
I cannot believe I am saying this, but the silver lining of the episode for me wasn't the precap, but Ashok's threat to Shagun. We might get our wish after all, to see Shagun pay for her misdeeds. I just hope that her destruction doesnt land her back in Raman's life.
Mihir Mihika scene was a breeze of fresh air...
And the way Ishita handed over the bag to Raman, and the way Ruhi stood at the door looking sadly at Ishita... that looks like an impending separation. Maybe I shouldn't say it out loud. The bag exchange looked like a symbolic moment, was she handing over her trust (and her life) to him? Ninja also mentioned this on her post, and I agree with that comment.
