This is for Faruu's fic prompt: Hey suds I want one where Aahil is a run away groom.
This was meant to be a one shot. It got out of hand. This is an SS.
Very crack. Much fluff.
This is so AU even I'm laughing.
PART 1
Aahil runs away on his wedding day.
He has his reasons.
-
Nida is nice. She is modern, smart, and above all, is very respectful. She's the perfect match for Aahil. But the thing is, she's not.
-
Aahil first realizes that Nida is definitely not the one the day she decides to plait his Ammi's hair.
She has bought those small, tacky flower clips from the flea markets in the darker areas of the city, and Aahil does not want his Ammi to have those in her hair. She's beautiful just the way she is, thank you very much.
But Nida is insistent and Ammi is agreeing with her, so Aahil gives in, even though he knows that the only reason Ammi is agreeing is because she's very blind and cant see the heinous pieces of scum that lay in Nida's hands.
-
Aahil almost chokes when he comes back from work and sees Nida's handiwork. His Ammi looks like a Disney witch that fell into the pits of fairyland.
-
Nida sometimes forgets her things in places where they shouldn't have even been in the first place. Aahil can work with that though, because she puts up with his mood swings like fire does to wood.
Aahil can't work with that the day his room turns pink. The moment he opens his room's doors with his flashy new gadget, he sort of wants to strangle someone.
His fianc, most probably.
He steps in, feeling a little dazed and a whole lot angry.
The curtains, the walls, the bed sheets, his freaking lamp, have all been replaced with another replica, but in pink.
Hideous, evil shades of pink.
-
When he asks why, Nida tells him that she told who-ever-the-hell-destroyed-his-room to decorate hers, and that it's not her fault.
She had told who-ever-the-hell-destroyed-his-room to decorate the room on the second floor that had a dress on the bed. She forgot to mention the colour. His bed had a green dress, and hers had a black one.
Aahil wants to bang his head on a wall.
"There's one right behind you," Nida supplies helpfully.
He also wants to kill someone.
Nida doesn't say anything for some reason after that.
-
Nida is also very clingy. And obsessive. And has stalkish tendencies.
-
He honestly starts wondering why he chose her of all people the day she tells him that she used to keep his empty chip packets from way back when they were school, and how she put them in a scrapbook, lovingly named Aahil's Empty Chip Packets, with silver glitter love hearts decorating the front.
She still has it.
Aahil feels like he's seen the face of death.
-
After all this and more, it's not really a surprise that Aahil does not, definitely not, want to get married to Nida. But he has to anyway, because his Ammi said so.
-
He can do it. He knows he can. His vocal cords aren't at all damaged, and even if they were, it is only two words, repeated thrice. He can do it.
He can't.
It's like his brain has stopped functioning beyond "Qu" and he's left stuttering and squirming like fish.
"Do you need some water, beta?"
Aahil shakes his head.
The audience has started to cast weird looks at him, whispering, worried, and Aahil makes up his mind.
He gets up and runs.
-
It isn't the best idea he's ever had, but it's certainly not the worst. Though Aahil forgets that part when he finds a group of heavy men running for him. They have machete's in their hands, and angry expressions on their faces.
Aahil never knew Nida had brothers.
-
After what feels like eons running and jumping and pushing people out of the way, Aahil reaches a house that has its doors open. He doesn't think, and runs in.
He sort of forgets human rules, but he thinks he should be forgiven.
-
Aahil forgets any rule when he sees the girl running towards him, a wooden rolling pin in one hand and a ball of dough in the other. She is beautiful.
He sort of wants to marry her then and there. Look, he even has the get up for it.
He stops the wanting as soon as she hits him on the shoulder.
"Why are you in my house?"
Oh.
He forgot about his hasty entrance, for a few seconds. It comes back to him in a vivid vision.
So he explains, as fast as he can. A furious look enters the girl's eyes when he tells her about his aborted marriage, but he is quick to tell her that it was forced. It was. Sort of.
He could feel guilty, but he kind of likes the way she goes all soft and sad on him, so he embellishes the story, a little. She buys every single word, and he smiles on the inside.
-
Aahil stops smiling when the brothers of Nida- how could he have not known about her plural brothers?- run into the house screaming murder.
Aahil can't help it. He hides behind the girl. She's actually really terrifying, for such a pretty little thing.
-
Told you. Crack.
