After much contemplation on my part, decided to pen down few things. Will try to write less but then who knows 😆
Yes it is about Raman's character. So before people get too senti, again I shall try to analyze how the character is being presented so take a chill pill 😛
Show sure depicted mostly what may be close to reality. Yes it is always nice to see grey character who makes mistakes, corrects them and learns from them. Such a character becomes very interesting if some vulnerabilities are shown and then to make him/her strong you give strong sense of ethics or principles.
As for Raman, sorry but he is not being vulnerable, rather flat out weak. Right now he appears weak selfish character. Yes I get it he wants to make peace with his son so he is acting like this blah blah. He realizes he is making mistake so at least there is guilt. Who cares. This is not the first time he is making mistake using his Adi jaap. 6 months in the show and Raman still is weak father when it comes to Adi. With his Adi jaap he is helping Shagun cover up whole accident matter. Sorry, where is his guilt? His guilt is only in his thoughts but not in actions. His actions are full on as what he wants to do; that satisfy his delusional idea of being liked by Adi. So what if Adi is so close to his mother, isn't Amma someone's mother? In past he was shown acting on his principles because of which he supported Mihir even when Toshiji asked him not to just for Ruhi's case. He acted on his principles and kicked out Param even though his sister said she loves the guy so much and he is also father of young child. He didn't mind throwing his brother in front of police for same accident despite knowing how his mother would react. So if he is willing to hurt his entire family; parents, siblings, in-laws, daughter and wife when he belives he is doing right, now for his son breaking all ethics, principles and even law. His son's tears mean more to him than everyone else's?
Now please enough with argument he is only human and wants to do whatever for his son. Talking abt his son who doesn't respect him much, well why should he? If Raman doesn't respect himself as a father then why should this brat? 😕
Raman by covering up so much and making all these "same mistakes" is not doing anything different from people who hide their family's crime. Saying he acted like selfish father which is understandable, well then whatever Shagun did to him in past is also fair. To say he is making hard decision, well is he? Because he is not doing anything different than what he has in past. Yes this time he has guilt call which only makes it worse. In past he was not sure what he was doing is right or worng but this time HE KNOWS FOR SURE HE IS WRONG. Well that seems very well thoughtful choice to me. Hard decision here would've been like doing the right thing, taking anger and hate from his son and acting like a real father. But there has been no progress made on that front. He is not making hard decision, he is taking easy way out like coward coz he can't hear some harsh words by some brat kid.
Now his self talk abt needing Ishita in hard times; very much selfish I must say. You don't have decency to tell her anything, trust her enough to share everything or be courteous to seek help but you expect her in your hard time. Not love rather selfishness. Has not Ishita offered her help, shown full trust? So shut up with guilty concise, you are feeling guilty coz you are guilty !!
So with current scenario, whatever he did in past also seem his act of ego. He did what he want to not certainly for belief in right or wrong.
Raman's character was shown making some progress and growing in all aspects but it has regressed much more. Sure he needs time and help to grow. But he at least needs to ask for help or accept help when offered. He is not shown doing that.
CVs are showing him weak man who is being manipulated by ex and a kid. Talking abt reality, such people are left by everyone coz no one can carry you if you are not willing to carry yourself. I am not even talking abt doing things or actions for Adi, Ruhi or even Ishita, but dude action of your own. Without this manipulation, Adi jaap, guilty hu blah blah 🥱 Making same mistakes and then coming back saying pathetic sorry like with whole Adi sorry crap seems very superficial for some with dignity and principles.
Question is are CVs willing to redeem male lead? Are they willing to show him reach his own sense, take responsibility, make hard choices, endure anger of his own for what is right, set things right on his own, gain some self respect? Or they will continue to show he needs to be saved by female lead all the time !!! If that's just how it is, then ppl wonder why men don't like to watch daily soap, well if men are always shown as being carried by female lead when they remain stupid, what else you expect 😛
