Karishma, who has been dating Kanwal for the past seven months, is very excited about her wedding. "We first met online and slowly became friends before dating each other. We were not ready for the marriage first but when we met, we realized that we were made for each other and changed our minds. He was the one who proposed."
Karishma says she always wanted an articulate and well-read person like Kanwal. "He is both intellectual and down to earth. The best part is that he has a great sense of humour and I like these qualities of him a lot."
What does he do? "Kanwal is into the software business and owns a firm also. I never disclosed it because Kanwal likes to maintain a low profile."
On being asked whether their parents were happy with the relationship, she said, "As both of us are Punjabis, our families were more than delighted to settle for
chat mangni pat byah in September. The
Roka has already taken place and both the families have exchanged gifts. The engagement is on 22 September and the wedding, the next day" discloses Karishma.
She adds, "Since my brother stays abroad, he wanted me to get engaged and married in the same month so that he can take leave and attend both the functions. The wedding is going to be a typical big fat Punjabi one and all my relatives and friends are enthusiastic about it. As I am from Chandigarh, our wedding is going to take place in my hometown and the place Rock Garden is already booked for it. We have also booked the decorators, flower vendors."
On the shopping front, Karishma says, "We are already done with it. I have purchased a rose pink
lehanga from Jaipur. Since I am from a Punjabi family, my mother saved and made jewelleries for me since my childhood days. I also purchased some jewellery from Jaipur, and Mumbai. I will be wearing a combination of gold and diamond together."
So will she continue working after marriage? "Kanwal does not have any problem with it. I am just doing
Doli Saja Ke… now and will not take any more projects this year. But after marriage, I will definitely look for some exciting offers."
And what about your honeymoon plans? "We have not yet decided on the place yet but Greece and Paris are on my mind."
