What we first recall about a film are its songs --Sonu Nigam

Singer Sonu Nigam,who hit the headlines a couple of months ago when he got into a legal wrangle with filmmakers and producers,along with other singers and artistes over copyright issues,was in Jaipur for a concert.And over a short conversation,stood by the step he took,saying it is a gift to the younger generation.The issue back then,was that both Sonu and Sunidhi,who recorded songs for Shekhar Sumans film refused to sign contracts depriving them of their royalty.At that time,Sonu had been quoted as saying,Id rather sit at home and do yoga than get into this mess, and he had posted strong statements like My parents didnt give birth 2 me,2 be subservient to a music company just because I can sing, on Twitter.
And in Jaipur,he maintained,Our seniors in the industry gave us melodious music and a legacy to follow.And this Copyright Act that came into existence in 2012 is a precious gift that will be cherished by the coming generation of Bollywood singers. For taking a stand on the royalty issue,Sonu said he got a lot of appreciation.Its ironical that when we talk about a particular film,what we recall first are its songs.But we dont want to remember those who have lent their soulful voices to those songs.But I must thank God that finally people are realizing it and raising their voice.
Known for his versatile singing style,the singing sensation Sonu was recently was in the city for a electro music festival.He is touring the country with his show and said,This will be an altogether new experience,where music lovers will get to experience a new genre which I would say is a new melodic revolution.
