Payal looked into Akash's cabin. She was hoping that she could talk to him. But it was empty. It seems he was really trying to avoid her. With a sigh she came back to her seat. It had been one month since that night and things have just gone bad between them. Not that there was something to talk abt, but still at least he was not avoiding her but after that particular night things just went down stream. She should not have slapped him. Devi Maiyya that was such a horrid thing to do. She was so damn emotional that day and seeing him at her door step had weaken her. That man had just tried to comfort her. She had broken down like a weak little girl and cried in his arms. He had just kissed her forehead to comfort her but she had gone over board and slapped him. She still remembered how he looked shocked and heart broken. Then he left her house feeling humiliated. Her thoughts were broken when her phone rang.

Hello?

Is this Miss. Payal Gupta? Came an authoritative but doubtful voice

Yes. May I know who this is?

Hello. I am Maan Singh Kurrana. I request a meeting with you. He told her in a straight forward manner.

Hmmm.. but.. Can you tell me what this meeting is about? Payal asked getting suspicious. She had heard of this man and his reputation. She dint understand why he was calling her and that too on her personal mobile phone?

This is to talk abt Titli, I mean Kushi. You're...

WHAT??? You know where she is? Is she with you? Is she alright? Did that creep do something with her? Ho when I get my hands on him he is so...

Stop... STOP... Maan yelled through the phone.

Huh?? Oh.. Sorry... Payal whispered blushing with embarrassment.

So please tell me when can I see you? He asked calming down.

Whenever you want. She said hopefully. She really wanted to know what happened to Kushi. Where she was and if this man could give her any lead she would go even to hell to get it.

We can meet today? He asked

Sure. Where should I come to?

I'll send you my car. Are you still in office? Maan asked

Hmmm yes? Payal was curious how this man knew so much about her. But then Again he was the great MSK. Nothing is impossible for him she thought with a sigh.

Ok I'll send you a car in another 15 minutes. Saying he cut the call.

Payal was so excited. At last after such a long time she was going to get some info abt her little sister. That is when it stuck her. That man, Maan Singh Kurrana had also called Kushi as Titli. How she wondered. Not many people out of the family knew her name as so? Payal thought all this as she packed her bag ready to go. She had so many questions that needed answers and she prayed this man could provide them all. But first she had to get permission for leaving early from Akash Sir. She just prayed he was in his cabin and not playing invisible man with her.

Akash saw Payal's excited face. He knew that she had come into his room so he had hid away from her view. He was curious as to why she was in that room when she had clearly mentioned that she was not interested in him. He had been painfully reminded of the fact that what he felt was only one sided. But if she thought that he was going to let her go, she was deeply misunderstood. He would give her sometime but there was no way he was letting her go. But what he saw while she was speaking on the phone intrigued him. He wanted to know who she was talking to. The way she blushed and then became excited got him worried abt some competition that he would likely face. He saw her walk towards his cabin. Today he would face her. He dint want to disappear again. He wanted to know what she was up to.

Arnav looked at his watch again. He had to go and get Kushi today. He planned to leave his office by 3:30 as it took only half hour to reach the hospital. It was the same time he left every day to meet her for the past one month. He smiled as he remembered how he would wait for it to be 4 every day so that he could meet her. As soon as he entered the room Kushi would run to him and happily fill him in on all the things she had done and he would listen to her. He couldn't understand how her voice managed to calm him and remove the whole day's stress from work. He couldn't understand the pull that he felt towards this girl. She was not his Titli but still the protectiveness he felt for her had amazed even himself. What had really shocked him was that he had not touched alcohol for the past one month.

Just then there was a knock and his secretary Lavanya entered.

Sir there is someone to see you. She said in a low flirtatious voice. Arnav rolled his eyes at her behavior. He was sick and tired of this girl. But alas he was forced to keep her till he gets someone in her position.

Get him in and leave quickly he snapped at her. It was already 3 and he would get late now. He thought regretfully.

Sir. The man wished him. Arnav immediately identified him to be the private investigator.

Did you get the info I requested? He asked

Yes sir. All is in this file. He said in a professional tone

Ok. Your payment will be done.

The man left thanking him. Arnav again looked at the time. Good it was only 3:15. He got up and thought to get a bit fresh. He had asked Pritvi to get some jelabies for Kushi. He smiled dreamily as he imagined her cute and very expressive face when she saw the jelabies he had for her. Just as he got up, the door opened and in came his Jija ji. What the ... He swore. Today was definitely not his day.

Shyam smiled as he entered and sat down. He looked at his very distracted Sale sahib.

What happened Sale sahib? Not happy to see me? He smirked at him as he saw his face transform with guilt. That is what he like abt him and his sister. Even the smallest of things from his part could make them feel guilty.

No it is not like that Jeeja ji. Kuch kam tha? Arnav asked trying to shoo him off.

Yes actually I came to ask a favor from you. Shyam said getting a bit hesitant. He needed more money. Thanks to him (Arnav) he had lost Kushi and his repayment money.

Arnav kept looking at his watch. It was going to be 3:30now. What did Jeeja ji need so urgently that he couldn't ask him at home? He thought as he kept looking at his watch

Kuch important kam hai kya Sale sahib? Shyam asked as he could see he was very restless.

Yes I need to go. Can we talk today at home? Arnav asked getting up.

Ok... Shyam said annoyed. He needed the money before Kammo Bai sent her goons behind him.

Arnav got up and left. He needed to get Kushi then he would worry abt his jeeja ji.

Shyam stood up. He couldn't believe his obedient Dog Arnav had just brushed him off. He was really frustrated cos of this. He left the cabin, slamming the door. He was about to get into the lift when his eyes fell on a very familiar face. He froze as he remembered her. Payal... he whispered. What the hell was she doing here? He thought as he hid behind a pillar watching her. He saw her enter into Akash's cabin. He needed to get rid of her he thought immediately. Her being here was a danger. Even though Arnav won't believe her, he couldn't say the same thing abt his own wife Anjali. So the solution to this problem is to get rid of her.

Payal looked at the time. She had gotten Akash sir's permission. She could leave by 4. She immediately packed her bag and came out.

There opposite to the building stood a really sophisticated car. Mr. Kurrana had given her the number of the vehicle she could see it from where she stood. She held on to her bag and decided to cross the road. Her thoughts were filled with questions of why Mr. Kurrana wanted to see her and how he knew abt her Titli. She had not missed when he had called her so also.

Quickly checking the road, she tried to run across the road but as soon as she reached the middle something hit her. The force was so much that her body was lifted off the ground and her head came in contact to the hard surface as she fell. For her minute she was in extreme pain but then everything dissolved into darkness.

The bell in the doctor's cabin rang and a nurse came in to call him.

Dr.Armaan Malik. This name and the man was something that Arnav was wary abt. There was something abt this man that triggered an old memory. Though he couldn't pin point what it was, it made him uncomfortable.

Mr. Raizada. Dr. Malik wished him.

Kushi is fine for now. These are the instructions that you should follow properly. Also you need to book up appointments beforehand for the sessions that she needs to attend. All the information is written in that file. He said passing a smile to Kushi, which Arnav dint like at all.

Ok saying he left the cabin, pulling Kushi with him. He dint even thank the doctor.

Array aapne unhe dhanyavadh bhi nahi kaha. Kushi reminded him with a pout. (You did not thank him)

Kis ke liye dhanyawadh? (For what should I be thankful to him?)

Unhoney humara itna khayal rakha iss liye. She said trying to get her wrist free from his grasp. (He took good care of me that is why)

Paisa diya hai moreover wo sab karna uska kam hai. Kuch special nahi kiya hai usne. He said getting a bit annoyed. (I have paid him for whatever services he did. Moreover whatever he did it was his job. He has done nothing special)

Kushi please chodo use aur challo. Me tumari liye ek surprise arrange kiya hai. He said with a small smile thinking of all the changed he had done to his penthouse. He had made it so that it was better for Kushi. He even got a separate room for her, painting and furnishing it with pink and purple. He hoped she would like it. He had cleared the mini bar and had also made a small mandir for her.

Accha kya hai? Kushi asked excitedly. All the previous thoughts forgotten. (Really?)

Come home aur me dikhaunga. Arnav said with a smirk seeing her pout.

Akash couldn't breathe. This cannot be happening. His brain was frozen at that thought only as he sat in the ambulance holding her bloodied hand.

Please get up. He kept murmuring, pleading as he cried next to her.

He had thought of following her and seeing where she was going. But as soon as he left the building he saw a car hit her and she had fallen. In all this he had not even seen the car or its driver. All his thoughts were only on her. His Payal.

Arnav stopped by his office. He had just received info that Akash's secretary, Miss Gupta had gotten into an accident.

If she keeps running like a mad woman on the road what else will happen he thought as he entered his cabin. He had forgotten to take the file which had info on Kushi's sister.

He opened the file and froze in his steps. The front paper had a picture of a woman he identified.

Payal Gupta... his brother secretary...
