Revealed: Why Kareena Kapoor Khan turned down Dil Dhadakne Do'

Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do' might now be underway but , initially, it is well known that she was keen on casting Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan as reel siblings in the film - roles which are now being played by Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra. Recently, Kapoor Khan revealed by she chose not to sign the film.

According to India Today, Kapoor Khan said, "Zoya's film required me to give 90 days. I can't be away on some cruise from home and my family for three months for an outdoor shoot. I do not wish to work that way anymore".

"Now I like to work with people who are willing to adjust their schedules according to my needs," she added.

The actress also said that she is now doing films because of the story as opposed to just taking them up as favours to friends.

Didn't she say it wasn't classy to talk about films one isn't doing? Yet she is blabbering excuses about turning down DDD again. 😆

W*F...she said her priorities changed now that she's married and she would like to do work with directors who can accommodate that...most married women change their work timings or schedules...tht dosent mean they are asking people to bow down to them...

She didn't say "everyone should adjust adjust their timings for me"...

Most actresses say "I would like to work with directors who are willing to challenge me and offer me good roles"...so now does that translate to "everyone should give me good roles coz I am the queen now bow down to me"?

The title is misleading...

How the title misleading, it's a direct quote from her.

I get it that a married woman's priorities would be different than when unmarried but she keeps talking about films she's not in which is unclassy.

Her statements don't make much sense because the cruise was for only a month, and Saif could've joined her.

Wow 😲 I mean just like you might be busy others are busy doing their job too so why should they forget about their needs and compensate for yours?
We get it you're married now and have different priorities but a lot of actors also have families and other things so it's not really fair to expect them to change their schedules to match yours. You can't expect people to do all the work you gotta meet them half way. She's kind of a narcissist😆

Saying "I would like to work with so n so" is largely different from saying "so n so should work with me"...

Similarly, saying "I would like to work with directors who can accommodate my schedule" is different to saying "everyone should accommodate to my schedule"...

Most married women go from full time work to part time work...does that mean their companies are bowing down to them by accommodating their needs, or they are being arrogant for asking their companies to do that?

And she must have not done the film for whatever reasons...maybe her priorities changed, maybe she has personal commitments, maybe she wants to do casual or part time work now...who knows...saifcould have gone with her, maybe he couldn't...who knows...

I'm not arguing any of that anyway...I argued that the title is highly misleading and twists her words to make her sound arrogant when the statement made is perfectly normal...

She is basically telling she wants to work with those people who schedule according to her needs.

I am not here to call her out on anything.or call her egoistic or something.

She ruined her career with her choices. She has only herself to blame.

No one's success ruined it for her!

^^like I said! I'm not arguing abt her ruined career neither am I saying that the choices she's made are right for her career...

I am basically arguing her right to make that choice of prioritising personal commitments over work and asking for work that can accommodate that...that dosent read as being egoistic, arrogant or demanding to me because I've seen many women do that..that is why there is different types of work depending on a persons priorities, part time, full time,casual etc etc...so that people can choose and ask/apply for the kind that's suits their needs...

Again, she didn't say people should adjust to her timings, she said she would like work with people who can...huge difference...which is why I felt the title was misleading because it isn't her exact quote...her exact quote reads very differently...

I think she has taken the Khan last name too seriously. She probably deosn't realize her new last name doesn't automatically grant her any special privilege in Bollywood like the other 3 Khans.
