Re: posts...I'm trying very hard to restrain myself. This forum is very addictive! And I'm anyway checking it out too frequently for news and updates. And now I'm starting to post too! This does not bode well! Hahhaa

I'm going to wait and see how things unfold before stating whether I like this current track. What I've noticed is that the problems that crop up with the show are not with the choice of track but rather with its handling. The Laila track or the Tejawat track for instance...both had so much potential. But were let down hugely by very juvenile (the former) and rushed (the latter) handling. At least that's how I felt.

The Mala track is the mother of all tracks (pun intended)! It defines the very character of the main lead, and everything that has happened in the show so far has been a result of that. Obviously the writers were heading towards this, and it needs to be handled and resolved with great finesse and maturity. Whether the writers will devote adequate time and energy to that remains to be seen.

I just read that a new negative male character is to be introduced. I just hope they don't rush through the Mala track too, as they did with the other tracks, and in the process turn it into a big joke.

With Indian soaps, I have learnt to keep my expectations low...very low :-)
I don't excuse Mala for abandoning her child the way she did. But I have to admit that Dilsher being an abusive husband is at least a more tenable reason for her desertion than fleeing with a lover, which was also one possibility. Regarding D and M acknowledging the damage they've done to their child...I think that is a stage that they have still to reach. Right now the awkwardness both of them are feeling, impounded probably by immense feelings of guilt within their OWN relationship, is laying prominence. Which is understandable to an extent. It would have been more weird I feel if they had immediately come together in their realization of what they did to their child. It's just been one day since Mala has been back after all.
A day in RR is a looong time! Hahahhaa...

Like I said, let's see how and when things unfold. I'll be happy as long as it's done sensible!

LOL ah I see...so you're trying to stay in silent reader mode and avoiding posting in the forum? LOL yeah once you start posting, you invariably tend to get caught up in it.

Well if you do choose to post more often, I would enjoy reading your threads :-)

Re: Mala...yes Dilsher being abusive does give her more justification and I'm not taking that away from her but overall this seems to be a collective failure of both parents in my opinion and I hope that is acknowledged by the writing team...it's ok if Mala-Dilsher still need time to come to terms with how things happened b/w them but I would like some more clarity vis a vis this rather than just having Paro running back and forth b/w everyone trying to make them reconcile in a heartbeat...but yeah as you said, a day in RR seems endlessly long...has it really only been like 3 days in the show's timeline since the day they came back from Mumbai? Wow.

Well my expectations are already super low...lol...infact I'd technically given up expectations from this week but today's epi was surprisingly good just when I'd lost all hope😆

Still given the way they've bungled the previous two big tracks vis a vis Laila and Tejawat, I don't hold high hopes from the Mala track being handled properly either despite it being the very BASIS for Rudra's characterization as you rightly pointed out.

I think the show is gearing up to switch tracks in a major way with the introduction of the new negative lead so I also think Mala issues will be wrapped up soon...in two weeks, max and then the new character will probably shift focus from Ranawat family drama to something else.

And from past experience with the makers of this show, I have serious doubts about good execution vis a vis new character although I don't mind new characters...but they are hardly doing justice to the current crop of supporting characters they have right now as it is.

Hi there Shabnamm 😊 i reached here stalking AreYaar (stalker alert- beep beep)and just wanted to tell you how wonderfully you have analysed the episode today! It was indeed pretty crisp- even though I skipped over some of Mala and Dilsher bits!! i just dont know- the sight of Mala laughing over anything at this point irritates me! Not saying that she needs to cry 24*7 but i just dont see enough remorse on her face.
The opening scene was really a surprise and so real life like- so naturally done- without any overt, cheesy bashfulness or hawtness! Very pleasant it is to see two people - married and in love wanting to be in each others arms so naturally- and both were looking so good - added bonus!

Now to the crux of the episode- I feel for Rudra- I really want him to pack his bags and get away from that maddening haveli, with or without Paro- seriously! I can just imagine the suffocation he must be feeling- and that is why i wanted Paro to be on his side in this. But Paro is a character in an Indian telly soap so family has to always come first- alas! Her reasons are right- you can't run away from your past or pain and its best to confront it- but Ive said it many posts now that Rudra is the one who should decide the pace of it! Of course then the issue is that he might never set any pace and be never ready- but brow beating him at this stage where he is already do vulnerable is not sitting well with me! Also a dialogue like 'mujhe sab theek karne dijiye pehle'- that always makes me go yikkkes!! Especially the presumption here and also that many a times 'sab kuch theek nahi hota' and still life carries on!

Also I am not able to get this happy family reunion especially between Dilsher and Mala- especially coz Mala was married to Tejawat - and suppossedly happily married till she found out the truth! So a reconciliation being attempted in between Dilsher and Mala is a little absurd here!

And Dilsher- most dissapointed in him today- 15 years what he has sowed in Rudra's mind and heart- and now that is spilling out and he gets slapped for it?!

All these issues aside- it was a crisp and a tight episode!

LOL hello Stalker ji...@bold: haha on any other day that might have made me facepalm but ab toh we are beyond that, aren't we? Wealth of irony in this...Paro thinks she can fix everything and everyone and she says she is doing this FOR Rudra...and yet she doesn't understand that he needs her unconditional love more than anything at this point...she is the only emotional anchor he has right now in the chaos around him as his parents make no sense to him and he communicated that with desperation to Paro today but Paro doesn't fully get it...her balancing act, while very noble in thought is actually falling short when it comes to the person who needs her most desperately right now...Mala toh still has managed to bond with Dilsher again already😕😆...I loved Mohini's sarcastic remarks today about Paro's fix-it-all qualities😆...but I guess this is how female leads go in most shows...Paro believes only she can fix everything and she WILL fix it, come what may...😆

I've no expectations from Dilsher or this Mala storyline anymore honestly...they've turned the track simplistic now with the speed with which Rudra is being cornered into accepting Mala...so that everyone can sing a happy family song once it's done and move on to the next track...lol...Paro views things in a simplistic fashion so she's tackling this in a simplistic fashion but the revelations coming out of the matter are showing that it was never simple...and yes if after all this they expect that Mala-Dilsher-Rudra should just play happy family, things will get even more ridiculous...

Your post is a brilliant tribute to a brilliant episode 👏

Yes, something has changed in RR ever since the 8 saal har raat confession and train track declarations. The intensity is intact but doesnt look over the top. There is a confidence in narration, I hope the creative team has decided that the TRPs be damned, they are going to go about telling their tale as they have planned it.

No hurried romance, no jerky narration, good editing, and yes, heart warming dialogs. Camera work might do well to get more focussed and less adventurous. But all in all, the support system is complementing the phenomenal job that Sanaya and Ashish are doing.

These 2 are doing too much damage to young impressionable minds. They are making the audience believe in an all-encompassing love. Paro's devotion for Rudra and his total obsession for her is just too intense to be watched and forgotten.

I really hope this focus in the plot and integrity in the characters continues. As long as it lasts , I am loving it !!

Hi and thanks CyberOstrich...btw I really like your forum name :-)

I agree it is difficult to feel anything for Mala at the moment. She has a lot stacked against her. But I think viewers were very keen to hear her side of the story when she first appeared on the scene. We didn't get that. Neither in words, nor in action. As a result, we the viewers became irritated by her, which is natural because we can't understand her character. The reasons for that, in my opinion, are two fold - 1) the lack of material/dialogues given to the character by the writers that could give us any type of insight into what she's thinking or feeling. Mala doesn't seem to be very fleshed out as a character.
And 2) The actor playing the role also seems unsure of what she's supposed to be conveying. Many times I've found her expression to be almost blank. For instance when Paro goes to pick her up from Laila's place. I for one was absolutely unable to read any emotion on Mala's face in that scene. I don't know whether it's a case of a lack in acting chops or a lack of proper briefing by the writers about how or what the character is gong through.
Whatever the case might be, the end result is that viewers neither empathize with Mala, nor hate her. We can just find her irritating.

About Rudra...yes he needs to deal with his pain (I agree with Paro there), but I also agree that it would nice if someone or anyone gave him some time to at least assimilate what is going on. Everyone seems to have forgotten that Mala has been back for only one day! (How weird is that! Seems like she's been around weeks! Hahaha) But then RR seems to enjoy rushing through tracks, hence the haste in resolving a lifetime of angst in the blink of an eye!

And Paro... don't you know she's a Hindi soap heroine? Of course she can solve everything! 😆

In Bold: oh how I wish that is the case. Although I doubt it. But how nice it would be if someone said to hell with TRP, let's just tell our story!

Hi Shabnam (I hope I got the name right! :S)
Can't really say I've been an active member on this forum, but I do login on and off to just catch up on some really deep analysis the forum members contribute up here!

But your post on the episode last night, just had me break my silent spell and chip in and say..."Second your thoughts completely!" especially on the bit about it being a team work, the actors are brilliant but what got me hooked were the dialogues...not a single one till date has felt like I've heard it before! And my word ...I love the fact that Paro is not those shy ...coy heroines ...putting up a holier than everybody act and neither is Rudra ... the brooding kind...what's there is right in your face... and that's what I love about these characters... including Kakisa...she makes no bones about harboring ill feelings for Dilsher and his family... and such bluntness...is intriguing to say the least!

Echo everything you mentioned in your post the scenes which you mentioned and the impact!

Look forward to seeing more of your posts!
