i don go by looks 😳 for me the criteria is Attitude + Singing(Talent)... Not just this show, but all other shows that I have seen and voted, I have always preferred a contestant with a good attitude even if it means a lil less talent... I honestly dont feel Smita is the best singer in girls, but I voted coz I feel she is very genuine and deserving... In most cases, the best talent has been seen to have a shade of arrogance, and for me it is a big No... I would vote for someone good hearted, humble and with reasonable talent...

honestly i dun think so Smita is THAT bad looking. I mean if she just does some kinda style to her hair and put on a bit of makeup and concealer to hide her scars, And replace her spects with contacts, I can picture her to be good looking enough.

Smita is one of the better singers of Indian Idol. No doubt abt tht and on tht basis, yes she deserves to win.

But what turns me off at times is her personality. I mean she might be genuine but she seems depressed and really Stressed all the time. This is my opinion btw. Smita seems to be under alot of pressure. Yes, i understand that she has to live up to her father's expectations n dreams but tht doesn't mean the parents of other contestants don't have equal expectations frm their children. i think all them are stressed but hers is visibly more obvious which shouldn't be the case.

I don't think so looks should matter in a singing competition but personality plays a major role in captivating the audience. Smita might be the best singer but she might not be the favourite of the Indian Janta. And Indian Idol is by right abt getting the audience to love your talent and your overall personality.

well yes all parents have expectations, but you see - all of them do not come from same kind of backgrounds... Some are really well to do and it doesnt really matterif they win or lose... whilst some come from humble backgrounds and to them it can matter more than others... I think that is what puts more pressure on some of them than on others... i am sure they must be trying to hide it and to be relaxed, but sometimes it doesnt work like that...

i think smita isn't a bad looking person....she needs to have a lot more confidence..i think she feels kinda ugly among all them lil pretty girls.. :(

well.. to be honest.. its good for a singer to be attractive ..its a plus point .. but its not imp .. i dont completley go for the looks.. personality is important though...

i think for example.. emon is the righ mixture ... he is got a magical vocie and a wonderful personlity.tats why ppl like him...

smita i think is veyr talented and is apparently a veyr beatiful human being..
god bless her **

I think it will matter to all of them if they lose the competition. So i guess its a bit unfair to stereotype n say tht it won't make any difference at all to those who are rich while it'll make a mammoth difference to only those who come from the middle class background.

but yes, u are right.. the extent of pressure perhaps differs.

I am sure smita is trying her best to appear less pressured but even it that process, her personality does seem to lack a certain charm n positivity tht an indian idol should hv. And i am talking abt personality. Not looks.

When performing on stage, the main things tht the audience can remember is the singing talent n overall performance and rightfully tht should do the work. Background in my opinion should not be an excuse, at least not at the cost of your performance.

Smita is one of betters singer but she should perhaps work a bit more on her personality .. its not too late still !
