Chapter 15

Zain placed his head on top of their entwined hands and sighed; his heart had finally stopped bursting inside of him, he was finally at peace. He didn't look up to meet Asad's eyes, he couldn't bear what he would see in them for him, for his love, he just wanted to live in this small moment fulfilling the responsibility Zoya had entrusted to him; to make her strong again. He didn't want to worry about what HIS future may hold, right now, he was happy that her future was starting to come together; they had found a donor, everything was finally going to be alright.

'I would never want you to go against your Abbu, Ayaat' He whispered, 'You are that blessing he has earnestly prayed for from the Almighty, you are that gift from the Lord that has been written in your father's name' His lips quivered, 'You have found him after so long, I am no-one to come in between this sacred relationship.' He pressed out his tears onto their hands, 'I take back my promise today... I will always love you, till my heart stops beating' He placed a kiss on her hand.

'Mama' Ahsaan's eyes widened with surprise, his head shot towards the closed door; Ayaat.

'Huh?' Asad and Zoya looked at him confused; they both turned around following his gaze towards a grinning Tanveer,

'Tanveer' Zoya's hand fisted before going around Ahsaan protectively, she scowled at the woman who had destroyed everything good in her life. Her body shook with rage which was building slowly, bit by bit as Tanveer's misdeeds flashed before her; tears formed in her eyes remembering the most painful moments.

'HOW DARE YOU?!' An enraged Asad roared at the sight of her pacing forward and standing in front of Zoya. Tanveer smiled widely; she wasn't expecting their re-union to be pleasant. She scrunched her nose,

'How dare I what Asad?' Tanveer asked confused blowing her nails, 'Surprise, ooops!' She shrugged her shoulders, 'I forgot to say' She bit her lips playfully. Zoya jumped forward and slapped Tanveer making her stumble back a few steps holding onto her cheek, her face shot towards Zoya dangerously, her eyes venomous. Ahsaan looked towards Zoya with disbelief; his nose flared as he breathed sharply at his mother's attacker.

'How dare you come in front of me after everything you have done? YOU DESTROYED EVERYTHING!' Zoya yelled at her, not realising her shouting wasn't going to do any harm to the woman in front of her who was still as cold as ever.

'I came to see your daugh-' Tanveer stepped side wards towards Ayaat's room only to have Zoya grab her arm and yank her back.

'I don't think so' Zoya's breathing became heavier as she scornfully looked at Tanveer; ready to tear apart before she comes anywhere near her daughter.
'Why.are.you.here?' Zoya questioned, each word coming out as a threat.

'Oh ho Zoya, thoda sa intezaar karlo. I waited 18 years, you can't wait 18 seconds?' Tanveer brought her face closer to Zoya and whispered. Her eyes fell on Asad's shoes as he came and stood beside Zoya. Asad looked into her eyes; she was back for revenge, why and how, he didn't quite know.

'Chale jao Tanveer before I strangle you to death' Asad warned placing his hand over Zoya's shoulder; this was not the time for anything, saving his daughter was his first priority. He'll deal with her later. He controlled his anger as he felt it rising slowly inside of him; the burning sensation had him wincing. He had waited for this moment for so long, to tear her apart. The only thing holding him back was his daughter who was still fighting for her life.

'Tut tut Asad, what have I done to you, why are you threatening me like that?' Tanveer blinked her innocent lashes. Asad's grip on Zoya tightened feeling her body stiffen.

'Go Tanveer, run, run before I lose my senses, I swear by my Lord if you don't go now, I will murder you' Zoya gritted her teeth as tears escaped her eyes remembering Ahsaan. Tanveer stepped closer with a grin on her face,

'AHSAA-' Tanveer stumbled back and held her hands up defensively seeing an enraged Asad lifting his hand to backhand her. She smiled being able to hear Ahsaan's harsh breathing beside her, she slowly removed her arms; her eyes ran over Ahsaan's arm holding onto Asad's as he leaped forward to protect his mother from being harmed.

'Don't you have any shame; you were going to raise your hand on a woman?' Ahsaan questioned; sarcasm overflowing his voice. Asad watched Ahsaan dumbfounded, he and Zoya stared at his grip on his wrist trying to process what was happening. He met Ahsaan's gaze to find his expressions change to a much harsher one, it was as if he was disgusted. Asad's forehead creased in confusion and before he knew it Ahsaan threw Asad's hand away with force making him fall back helplessly into Zoya's arms.

'ASAD!'' Zoya cried grabbing hold of him; she glared at the boy standing in front of her. Tanveer cheered mentally seeing Ahsaan's strength against Asad; she sighed in contentment at the son who had just raised his hand on his own father, yes, Ahsaan is Asad Ahmed Khan's son, and Ayaat's twin brother. Tanveer's hand brushed over her stomach remembering Asad's words eighteen years ago.

'Asim?'' Zoya whispered whilst Asad just stared at Ahsaan knowing that his world was about to shatter any second.

'So what was I saying?' Tanveer spoke thoughtfully, 'Asim here will not be donating whatever it is you want him to, to your daughter, yes, that's what I was going to say'' She laughed mentally seeing the horror on Asad's face; this is just the beginning Asad Ahmed Khan.

'WHAT?!' Asad and Zoya snapped; a part of them suddenly breaking inside of them, maybe their faith. Ahsaan looked at his mother shocked; he was in a similar condition as Asad and Zoya.

'Mama, what are you saying? Ayaat has cancer, she needs my help. The plan was not-' Ahsaan froze seeing his mother put his hand up to stop him, he watched her look at Asad and Zoya mockingly.

'Mama? Tan- Tanveer is your mother Asim?' Zoya's voice came out broken, 'You deceived us' She stared at him accusingly, 'My daughter trusted you' Ahsaan looked down onto the floor not being able to meet her gaze. Zoya's mind was not working; how can Asim be Tanveer's son, Zain was her son. She looked at Tanveer who smiled at her knowingly. Realising how big Asim's deception really is, she looked at Ahsaan with teary eyes,
'WHY ARE YOU STARING AT THE FLOOR, WHYYY, WHY DID YOU DO THIS?' Zoya shouted at him, feeling faint. Ahsaan stared at his mother waiting for her to answer as he was speechless in front of the questioning mother. Zoya didn't know what to do as Ayaat's condition raced through her mind; they were going to lose her donor, her daughter...

Asad slowly walked in front of Tanveer with repulsion, this woman was breaking her family apart again. Ahsaan placed his hand in between them. Asad threw his hand away,

'You filthy little-' Ahsaan held Asad's collar,

'Don't you dare even think about it' Ahsaan warningly breathed on Asad's face meeting his eyes before throwing him back, 'Don't think I'm anything like Zain, I will fight back, and I will kill you' He said the last line in a whisper. Zoya gasped holding onto Asad, both unable to get out of the deception Ahsaan, their Asim, had given them.

'That woman-' Ahsaan swiftly turned on his feet to punch Asad only to be caught by Zain's firm hand. Zain's eyes grew smaller as he breathed sharply at Ahsaan. He threw his fisted hand away before grabbing his face in his hands,

'ASIM. What are you doing? Are you crazy, how can you raise your hand on someone who is like a fatherly figure to you?' Zain shook him, his eyes fell on Tanveer making him growl at the sight of her. 'Listen to me buddy, this is not the time, Ayaat-' Zain stared at his hands that was pulled away by Ahsaan. He looked up at him shocked,

'Zain, my bacha' Tanveer faked a smile holding her hands in the air. She looked at Asad from the corner of her eyes to find him glaring at her.

'Don't you dare take my name with that filthy mouth of yours' Zain scowled stepping forward only to be pushed back by Ahsaan to keep him away from his mother.

'Ahsaan!' Tanveer held him; Zoya's gaze along with Asad and Zain shot towards her 'Beta, aise nahin karte' Tanveer smirked at Zoya's stunned face, holding onto a fuming Ahsaan.

'Don't you dare come near my mother!' Ahsaan warned Zain, he was in a fiery mood not allowing anyone to step towards Tanveer.

'WHAT?' Zain asked shocked, he blinked a few times at the revelation in front of him; he was hoping if he blinked enough times his ears would become deaf and he would not have heard what he heard. 'Ahsaan?' He slowly looked towards a torn Zoya and then at a relishing Tanveer. He shook his head before grabbing Ahsaan by the collar, 'HOW COULD YOU DECEIVE HER?!!!!!' He shouted from the top of his lungs, he shook Ahsaan's body, 'Ayaat considers you as her brother, and in return you deceived her with this woman? How could you?'

'That woman is my mother Zain, speak with-' Ahsaan was cut short as Zain continued,

'She trusts you with her life' Zain cried, Ahsaan looked into his tear filled eyes as they turned from anger to desperation, 'She trusts you with her life, Asim, please' Zain fell to his knees letting go of Ahsaan's collar, 'Asim, please... all those promises, your feelings could not have been a lie no matter what your real identity was. I know you consider her your sister, she is your sister' Zain's lips quivered, 'Please don't leave her, please save her' He bowed in front of him, pleading for him to save Ayaat.

Asad and Zoya was still in shock as they blinked away their tears staring at a pleading Zain begging for Ahsaan to save Ayaat.

'Beta' Tanveer pulled Ahsaan and turned around to leave,

'Ahsaan?' Zoya whispered as her eyes went over Ahsaan's face, he halted in his tracks and turned towards her. Asad fell back against the chair, the helpless father in him did not fight back as he watched with wide eyes and deaf ears; this was the only person that could save his daughter. His mind hadn't registered that he was his son, Ayaat's twin brother. Ahsaan looked at Zoya before turning around to leave, Zoya's feet followed behind him only to have Tanveer grab her arm. Zoya glared at Tanveer,
'Ahsaan, my son Ahsaan, you-' Her voice stammered.

Ahsaan turned to find Sofia standing there with a box and his black side bag. He felt his heartbeat rise watching her standing there with tears in her eyes. Everything fell out of her hands before she moved to the side and fell against the chair. He stepped towards her only to see her hand opening slowly before a napkin fell out of her hands. Ahsaan's heart tumbled inside of him, his throat went dry. Not being able to handle his emotions, he walked away from her and entered the lift.

'Kya hua Zoya, Ahsaan is your son only' Tanveer told her.

'Tumne, maine, woh, my baby' Zoya's tears overflowed from her eyes,

'I didn't kill him' Zoya looked at her fiercely wiping away her tears, 'For this day' Tanveer whispered to her letting go of her arm, she walked towards Asad and bent forward,

'I waited 18 years for this moment Asad, and I cannot tell you how much I'm enjoying this.' Tanveer smiled as she watched Asad's face flicker with a mixture of emotions, she looked back at Zoya, 'Say Hi to Ahsaan's twin sister for me' She got up and walked a few steps before turning around, 'Let me know if you need any help saving her' Tanveer walked away from the two shattered parents. Zoya fell to the floor in an instant; Zain crawled towards her and held her tight. Zoya stared at Ayaat's door in front of her whilst tears fell from her eyes; she had found her son, but the joy that should've been there had disappeared. Her son wasn't hers anymore. She winced looking at Asad who had been hurt by his son. Asad's hand brushed his hair back before wiping his face in panic, his eyes went over the hospital corridor before landing on his torn wife sat on the floor. He forced himself up onto his feet and walked towards her before picking her up and holding her against him.

'Ahsaan' Zoya whispered against his chest, she broke into a sob not being able to handle the amount of pain running through her body right this instant, Asad's hand brushed her hair, he didn't know how to comfort her when he felt his own body breaking into pieces. Their saviour turned out be their own son and their son was someone else's pawn. The hatred he saw in Ahsaan's eyes did something to him; he shuddered remembering the way he looked at him; as if he wanted to kill. Why so much hatred, his heart, mind and soul was refusing to give him any answers. Asad's eyes fell on Zain who stood in a dazed state,

'Ayaat?' Asad broke apart from the hug and looked at Zoya, they both rushed inside the room and stared at her still body. They looked at each other and shook their heads; how were they going to save her?

'Excuse me?' The nurse half entered the room; she nodded at them to come outside. Zain turned around and faced the nurse watching Asad and Zoya walk out of the room; both of them were torn to pieces. Neither knew how to react at the revelations.

'Kya hua nurse?' Asad managed to choke out as the helpless father in him fought to keep himself together; he glanced back at his daughter before looking at the nurse with broken hope.

'Well...' The nurse started, Asad and Zoya looked at Nikita coming running towards them and grabbing Zoya into a hug. An already stunned Zoya was taken aback; Nikita looked at her with teary eyes.

'Zoya' Nikita breathed out, 'I did some tests, it was so unusual... Guess what? Your God has heard your prayers, your twins...' Zoya closed her eyes pressing out her tears; Asad's arm wrapped over her shoulder, Nikita looked at them both,

'We know' Asad whispered,

'No Zoya, listen to me. Ahsaan is alive, Asim is Ahsaan. The blood tests...' Nikita's voice drowned in the background as she went on to explain what she did. Zoya buried her face into Asad's chest with defeat; her heart couldn't take it any longer.
'Where is Asim, no I mean Ahsaan?' Nikita blinked at them with a wide smile on her face. Asad shook his head in a no before supporting Zoya into the room; Nikita looked at Zain who mirrored similar emotions. 'What happened?' She asked Zain worriedly; no, she wasn't ready to hear anything negative, she had finally found a small ray of hope to save Ayaat.

'He, I, that... We've lost' Zain looked into her eyes as she held her head; 'Our faith, trust, hope... we've lost Dr Sengupta' He walked towards the bench and sat down in defeat.

'But...' Nikita stared at him; she slowly turned on her feet and dragged herself towards her office.

Just a few metres away sat a heartbroken Sofia; she had put aside her insecurities and finally fallen in love, with Ahsaan. She looked around the hospital corridor with blurry eyes as her heart flashed images on the incident moments ago. As if falling in love wasn't enough, she was dragged beneath the earth with her blind faith; how will she be able to trust anyone again, how was she going to care for anyone like that again? The guy she dared to love turned out to be their own, yet he could never be theirs. What kind of a test is this Almighty?
But her love for him wasn't what was disturbing her; it was HIS love for his sister. How could that have been a lie? Ayaat loved and cared for him like no other, she trusted him with her life. How could he play with her life like that, how could he abandon her to die? They are both twins, they share the same heart, the same blood running through their veins; what kind of a deception was this? Sofia brushed away her tears with the back of her hands, she looked towards her right at Zain who sat dazed a few metres away. She forced herself up on her feet and picked up the bag, she looked at her bag and winced. She placed her hand on Zain's cheek, brushing away his tears with her thumb; she tilted her head as he slowly looked up at her. He placed his hand over hers before closing his eyes and sighing,

'Bhaijaan' Sofia whispered sitting down next to him and placing his head on his already heavy shoulders. She entwined her hand with his and pressed it, 'How did this happen?' She asked herself pressing out her tears and sighing. Zain looked at her,

'I don't know' He answered. I feel so numb Sofia, I feel so numb' He looked to his left to find Zuhair walking out of the lifts and coming towards them.

'Mama?' Ahsaan called out as Tanveer whizzed past him entering their house. She turned around and smiled at him,

'What happened?'

'Ayaat?' Ahsaan whispered, 'We didn't do right with her, she had no faults in this...' He looked down not being able to meet her eyes with the same excitement. Tanveer breathed out walking towards him and holding his shoulders,

'We have broken Asad Ahmed Khan beta, we've done it! We didn't need the property papers, we've got him. We'll kill him when we tell him' She turned around, Ahsaan stared at her back. 'Let's see how far he could go to save his daughter, you can save her but...'

'But?' Ahsaan repeated, Tanveer faced him with a devilish grin on her face,

'He will have to beg at my feet, he will have to beg for my forgiveness' Tanveer gritted her teeth pointing to the ground, 'I will make him place his proud nose at my feet, then can he save his daughter. You have no idea how proud I am of you' She cupped his face; 'You're my golden bacha' She kissed his forehead and walked away.

'But...' Ahsaan whispered with teary eyes as he closed the door behind him. He dragged himself towards his room, HIS ROOM. His eyes swayed over the unknown room; he didn't feel like he was home. He fell backwards on to the bed as images of Ayaat and Sofia flashed before his eyes; the two girls he loved the most, he deceived them. How was he ever going to look at himself in the mirror and justify his doings? If Asad Ahmed Khan never comes to his mother, if anything happens to Ayaat, her father will not to be blamed; it will be him.

'Asim is family whether anyone accepts it or not. I trust him with my life'

'Bhaijaan...'

Ahsaan closed his eyes shut trying to get rid of his guilt.

'...making someone unhappy to make someone else happy is wrong'

'I believe in love. I believe in spreading love. Revenge, hatred and anger does not exist in my dictionary. If a person can show that much care and love towards a stranger, he/she is not capable of lies or deceit. You said she was a total stranger didn't you Ahsaan? What would she gain from such a lie?'

'Sofia?' Ahsaan's eyes shot open to find her staring at him; disappointed. 'I'm sorry' He jumped up towards her, 'I'm soo soo sorry, please hear me out' He stopped as she put her hand out to stop him,

'I trusted you, she trusted you' Sofia leaped towards him and slapped him making him fall back against the bed. He looked up again to find her gone; he gathered his legs and leaned against the bed with tears overflowing his eyes.

'What have I done? I love you Sofia, I love you' He sighed into his hands breaking into a sob.

Ayaat slowly opened her eyes, she captured the dull ceiling in her eyes before lowering her eyes and tilting her pained head sideways; an instant smile appeared on her drained face as she watched her father fuss with her hand before stroking it delicately, occasionally placing soft kisses on her palm. She moved her hand, Asad's head shot towards her as he almost jumped out of his seat. He caressed her head placing a kiss on her forehead, she blinked back at him; his face lightened up at her one gesture.

'Sleeping beauty jag gayi' Asad smiled at her holding her hand against his cheek, 'How are you feeling?' Ayaat pressed her eyes. Her eyes fell on Zain who turned around hearing Asad's voice, he leaned against the curtains with a small smile on his face, her eyes lowered to find her mother staring ahead of herself, unaware of her surroundings. Zain placed his hand on her shoulder; she jerked out of her daydream and looked at him. He led her eyes towards Ayaat,

'Ayaat, my baby' Zoya cried jumping out of her seat and rushing towards her bedside. She placed a soft kiss on her forehead, 'Have you slept for the whole year, haan?' She joked making Ayaat smile. They watched the nurse enter with flowers in her hands; everyone watched her change the rotten flowers in the vase before coming to Ayaat.

'Goodmorning sweetheart!' The nurse smiled at her before doing a small check up on her. 'Oxygen levels are great' She took her mask off, 'You take it easy now, okay? No stress. Dr Sengupta will come in a bit, we'll get you freshened up soon' The nurse left the room.

Ayaat looked at her father, who hadn't taken his eyes off her,

'Kya hua?' She whispered, her voice came out croaky. Asad shook his head in a no.

'Nothing' He brushed the back of his fingers on her cheek before tapping her nose. 'I love you baby, I love you' Asad placed numerous kisses on her hand. Ayaat creased her forehead realising something was up. Zoya caressed her forehead to stop herself from tensing,

'Where's Asim?' Ayaat asked suddenly looking at Zoya. Zoya forced a smile on her quivering lips, she looked up at Asad; their daughter was really testing them, to see how far they go before they break completely. Ayaat's eyes landed on Zain watching her from afar, arms crossed, eyes locked on her.

'Asad, I need to...' Zoya started, Asad looked at her confused, 'I need to talk to you, please come outside for a moment.'

'Can we talk later?' Asad frowned,

'No now, I er, we need to make some phone calls. Urgent, come outside' Zoya slowly got up and walked around. She hooked her arm with his and pulled him away. Ayaat looked at her mother and father, Zoya looked back at her.

'I love you' Ayaat mouthed to her before looking at her anxious father not wanting to move away from her.

''Promise me, Promise me you'll never turn away from your old Abbu? Promise me'

''I cannot live without you Ayaat, you have no idea how I've spent all these days. Promise me, Promise me you'll never turn away from me?'

Ayaat moved her eyes from her father's back to Zain's. He was staring at the floor in front of him; she couldn't quite figure out the mixture of emotions on his face. She was about to cough to get his attention but she watched his body move towards her. He sat down next to her before looking up at her meeting her eyes; Ayaat was blown away by what she saw in them. He pulled his seat closer to her bed

'Heyyy' Zain whispered stroking her cheek with his thumb, Ayaat tilted her head to his touch, she closed her eyes feeling his warm breath on her neck as he leaned forward and placed his lips on her cheek lingering it to relish his touch against her skin. He slowly moved his head upwards and stared at her; a lone tear escaped his eyes and fell on her cheek. She opened her eyes feeling something warm against her cheek,

'Hey hey, shhh' She slowly lifted her hand and wiped his tears away with her shaky fingers. He held onto her hand and brushed it over his cheek, 'My emotional sher' Ayaat whispered. He kissed her palm staring at her, 'I'm fine, heyy, shhh. Please or else I'll cry' She warned him with wide eyes.

'Don't you dare...' Zain forced out a laugh, 'You're okay, I'm sorry'

'For what?'

'For everything.' Zain whispered,

'Zain, look at me. It's not your fault. I got scared of losing you, I've turned away from you once, if we separated, my heart will not be able to bear it.' Ayaat nodded, 'It's time to let go of our past, Abbu will understand.' Zain stared at her; if only you knew Ayaat, if only you knew.

'Ayaat, your Abbu-' Ayaat looked away knowing what he wanted to say.

'No, don't make me cry now' Ayaat frowned, Zain tried to turn her face. He tapped her cheek,

'Okay, I'm sorry' He brushed his hand over her head wrap. Ayaat looked at him horrified.

'Zain, no' She held his hand shaking her head, tears escaped her eyes.

'My love is not so weak Ayaat that it stops at your appearance' Zain slid the wrap off her head before reaching forward and placing a kiss on her forehead. He wiped her tears away before tapping her nose, 'I love you' He laughed seeing her innocent face staring back at him, she picked her head up against his chest. He wrapped his arm around her instantly holding her tightly against his chest. He tried parting from her but she refused to move,
'You love me na?' She nodded against his chest before slowly lying back against the pillow. He wrapped the scarf around her head, 'You look even more beautiful with your pink cheeks' He scrunched his nose teasingly.

'Stop it' Ayaat blushed hiding her face, turning the other way. Zain burst out laughing seeing her turn into a darker shade of pink before throwing a tantrum seeing him laugh so openly; her heart burst seeing him laugh openly, it wasn't strained any longer. He had been crying for days on end, she wanted to see him smile, always.

'Sofia wants to meet you' Zain told her, she nodded back at him pressing her eyes at him.

Asad and Zoya watched through the little glass window as the glow on her face returned with Zain's presence. Zoya looked at Asad who tore his gaze away irritatingly; jealous father. If he wasn't so helpless with Ayaat's health, he wouldn't let Zain near her. Somewhere in his heart, he knew Zain was her medicine; it would take him a lot of self scolding to accept it wholeheartedly.

'Chachi, how is she?' Zuhair came towards them and passed them their phonebooks.

'She's woken up finally' Zoya smiled, 'How is Ammi?'

'Daadi is fine. Ammi is there, I'll just ring her and tell her about Ayaat' Zuhair replied.

'Beta, where's the blue one? I'll have to go home and have a look' Asad scurried through the phone book before sitting down on the chairs. He took out his phone and dialled a few numbers, 'Hello Aneel?' He spoke into the phone with hope; they both knew that Ahsaan wasn't going to agree to become their donor without Tanveer's consent, and going by her history, they couldn't trust her at all even if it came with a condition; she would back out. They would fight for their son, but first, they wanted to help their daughter win her battle against time for her life. A part of them was happy that their twin son was alive; another part was defeated knowing that he was with Tanveer.

'I'm calling all my friends, it will be fine' Zuhair kissed her forehead,

'Thanks beta' Zoya patted his cheek before looking at Zain coming out of the room.

'Sofia?' Zain asked,

'Bathroom. I'll meet her first' Zuhair spoke excitedly walking into the room, Zoya sighed seeing the love in his eyes for his cousin sister. She had seen love and care for Ayaat in Ahsaan's eyes, she had hope that he will come to her; they're twins after all. Her heart cried looking at Asad and remembering Ahsaan's hands around his neck; Tanveer had destroyed his fatherly relation with his son. What was she so raged about; what did she want apart from destroy her and her family. She had wronged them, she stole everything away from them, and she harmed them. Then, why is she hell bent on destroying the little they have left?

'I, erm. I'm going to make a few phone calls. I need to sort something out.' Zain told Zoya,

'You take care of yourself. Come back soon, only Almighty knows how we will handle the tantrum queen when her eyes search for you' Zoya kissed his cheek, Be careful' She nodded at him.

'Everything will be fine' Zain kissed her forehead and walked away.

Zoya turned towards Nikita who was walking towards her,

'How is my little sweetheart?' Nikita asked,

'Smiling' Zoya replied, 'Did you find out who it was?'

'No. He wanted to be kept anonymous. Asim, er Ahsaan was lucky whoever it was that donated his blood. I doubt we'll be able to find him, but I'm trying. Don't lose hope, and I'm saying that both as a doctor and a friend, AND Ayaat's aunty' Nikita comforted her before going in to check on Ayaat. Zoya sighed slowly walking towards Asad and sitting down next to him, she slipped her fingers in between his while he turned pages of his phone book trying to reach his relatives. Asad looked at her and pecked her lips before holding his head against hers.

'We'll get through this' Asad sighed,

'Hey lovebirds!' Ayaan's voice came; Asad closed his eyes pretending to be irritated, 'How's my sweetheart doing?' Ayaan asked, Sofia joined her father's side laughing.

Why don't you go inside and ask how is everyone's sweetheart doing?' Zoya smiled back at his contagious smile.

'Bhaijaan, I've narrowed down the list of our relatives who may be a match' Ayaan passed a list to Asad who took it passing his brother a thankful look. He gazed at the list for a second, his eyes widened momentarily. He looked at his brother, 'It's worth a try bhaijaan. For Ayaat's sake. I know they're twins... but Tan-' His voice went quieter and quieter. Asad breathed out heavily,

'Whether you accept it or not Asad, he is your Abbu' Zoya pressed their entwined hands.

'He has gone far away from us' Asad stared at the space in front of him, Zoya looked at Ayaan quickly realising he wanted to contact his Abbu, not to mend relationships, but for Ayaat's sake; which to them, was more than enough.
Rashid had gone away from them when Zoya separated from Asad realising his son was going through the same problems as him. He did everything he could to help them both, but in the end lost hope when Zoya moved away from them all. Fathers always want their son to carry on their legacy, become like them, but in this instance, Rashid had always earnestly prayed that whatever he went through, his son wouldn't. But destiny was cruel to Asad; it tortured him brutally destroying everything that was good in his life. No-one can blame Asad for the way he is; an extremist yet holds a clear conscience. Men are said to be physically stronger than woman yet emotionally weaker than them. Asad was a man made of a brutal past yet his pure and innocent upbringing by his mother made him the strong, firm man he is; he was a man made of principles, a man that was hard to break. Zoya came into his life as a blessing, taught him that along with those principles, he needed a hint of love to start living the life he was gifted with. When that kind of love comes into your life, it becomes your source for breathing. When that love goes away from you, the impact is grave; it shatters you leaving you with scars as well as breathless. They heal but leave a mark, like when a vase breaks, you can mend it but the cracks will always remain. In this instance, it was Asad's fear of losing his love that still haunts him till this day. Ayaat was another blessing in Asad's life, the day he held her lifeless body in his arms, all those previous scars were ripped open, his faith and strength was torn to pieces when his own son refused to help his sister. To say that Asad wasn't on the verge of shutting down would be a lie, he was holding it together only for Zoya's sake, and her faith. He was a desperate father, willing to do anything to save her. He doesn't remember his father's injustices towards him, or whatever Tanveer did to him and his family. If Rashid Ahmed Khan couldn't help him, he would have to go to Tanveer, he would do it without blinking; only for his daughter's sake, the daughter who has made him a father, the daughter that calls him 'Abbu' and lightens up his insides making him feel like he has the world in his arms when he is holding her against him.

'There is no harm in trying beta' Dilshad caressed his head making him snap out of his thoughts and look up at her, he rested his head against her stomach bringing Zoya's hand to his chest; the child in him felt protected in his mother's hold, her touch gave him a sense of reassurance.

Zain stepped towards the archive room in deep thought; he followed the male nurse that was hesitantly leading him to the room.

'You'll have to look through it sir, the folder is over 18 years old' The male nurse turned around and looked at him.

'Is it really that easy to manipulate people like you?' Zain asked him in a stern voice, 'So many people have faith in your profession, they think you are trustworthy people' Zain looked at him disappointed.

'I'm sorry sir.' He looked down, 'I did it for the hunger that lives deep beneath my stomach, I sold myself. Please do not blame the profession; I helped that lady once but never again. I promise to be honest from now on'

'Good to hear that you've got your conscience back. Now, back to work. What exactly did she make you change?' Zain asked him as the nurse rummaged through one of the old folders that he had already taken out.

'This is the original document, she asked me to change this a few months back. I gave that boy the wrong birth certificates.' The nurse looked at him as Zain's eyes swayed over the writing; he looked up at him with a nod. 'If you need anything, I'll be outside.' He walked out of the room.

'Ahsaan. My Ayaat's twin brother. How badly that woman has manipulated you.' Zain shook his head looking at the birth certificate that clearly indicated his parents name along with the fact that he was a twin. Zain understood why Ahsaan felt so weird around Ayaat and why he was hiding everything when they went to get their results.

'You're not her child'

Zain recalled Chahat's words. He stepped towards the darker area of the room; the lights came on instantly with his footsteps. He looked around the huge archive room holding the history of so many lives that this hospital has touched.

'I am not Tanveer's child?' Zain repeated, 'How I wish...' He paused coming to the year he was born; he grabbed two of the 5 boxes that were stacked on top of each other. He sat on the floor and rummaged through the box one by one. 'Okay, I heard daadi say she changed the reports a few times to blame it on Asad chachu but he obviously wasn't the father- EWWW Zain, please' He hit his head realising how awkward his relationship would be with Ayaat. Zain laughed remembering how he lied to Ayaat on her first day, in order to hide his attraction towards her; he burst at her with the first thing that came through his head. Irony eh, she turned out to be his daughter.
'Get one thing clear Zain, Asad Ahmed Khan was framed. Why did she frame him? For money I'm guessing. But what the hell does she want now? Why did she keep Ahsaan and leave me?' His voice cracked, he was not upset that Tanveer abandoned him, he was angry that a mother can abandon a child like that. 'What would she get by turning Ahsaan against his own family?' He jumped onto his feet and pulled rest of the boxes and threw them on the floor. He rummaged through all of them one by one losing his patience along the way. He held his head trying to breathe through all the dust,

'One more time Zain, you can do this' He told himself feeling drained. He had not slept properly for the last week and neither has he eaten properly. He was bound to feel faint. He slowly went through the thousands of folders stuck to each other before realising there was one folder out of place, it wasn't under the A section. He pulled it out and looked at it carefully opening it slowly scared of what was inside. He got up and walked towards the lighter area of the room,

'Tanveer Ahmed' Zain read the top realising this was the folder, 'Let's see' He slowly read everything inside before his eyes stuck on one word; he choked almost feeling breathless. He stumbled back a few steps only to be held by someone. He slowly turned around and blinked at the old man that was holding him up.

'Careful beta. Listen you go and rest, I'll tidy all of that.' The old man told him patting his back. The male nurse rushed back inside,

'Sorry. I tried to stop him. He won't say anything, he has been working here for over 30 years; he knows that you came here with good intentions.' The nurse smiled at a dazed Zain.

'There was a nurse that used to work here 18 years ago, Chahat. I want her contact number.' Zain pushed himself out of the room and collapsed on the nearest chair.

Imran watched as his son stepped out of the car and looked at him; his heart ached remembering the incident before he took off to London. Since that day, he had neither spoken nor seen him except pictures that he may have sent to his mother and his sister. Ali had wiped off every memory of his father finding out the truth about his past. He always had hope that one day Almighty will give him the chance to justify what happened that night, but now that this day has come, he had lost all faith that he will be able to give his son any answers. Tanveer had played such a cruel game with him, Imran couldn't deny that he was also at fault for the situation he was in now. If he had told everyone the truth, so many lives would not have been ruined. He closed his eyes momentarily not being able to control his emotions as the past 18 years flashed before his eyes and the destruction his one mistake had caused. He slowly opened his eyes coming face to face with his son, a son that he may lose all the right to call as his own after today.

'Ali?' Imran's lips quivered lifting his hand and placing it on Ali's cheek, Ali stared at him with blank expressions.

'I've been accused of abandoning my family, how much of that is true?' Ali questioned him, stepping back and walking around him. 'I'm willing to give you another chance' He paused turning around, 'to explain yourself, explain why you deserve to be referred to as our 'Abbu' despite cheating our mother.' Imran closed his eyes trying to gain enough strength to explain the truth to his son.
'Well?' Ali stared at his father's back.

'Ali, my son' Imran started, already feeling dejected knowing this was going to end badly. But, he couldn't remain silent, not anymore. 'I have deceived everyone, I have cheated everyone' He fell to his knees. 'I don't deserve to be called your Abbu' He looked up sideways at his son realising he may just have shattered any hope he may have had to reconcile with his father. 'Asad bhaijaan and Zoya bhabie separated because of me... Tanveer Ahmed was the woman that sent that letter. The same Tanveer Ahmed that came between your maamu and maami.' He stared at the ground with teary eyes feeling it eat him up slowly. He couldn't look into his son's eyes as he waited for him to continue with his sob story.
'Tanveer and I went out a couple of times back in college, it was never anything serious. Later on, I fell in love with Najma and we got married. I didn't know when or how, but she claims I cheated her. I didn't realise when she became hell bent on destroying my marriage. I attended a conference meeting sometime after. I don't even remember bumping into her at the party, my drink was spiked; it obviously must have been because I don't remember anything and I woke up next to her the next morning. She claimed it was her undying love that took me back to her... She- she, claimed she was pregnant with my baby.' Imran looked up at Ali who was breathing heavily down at him. '
I didn't want to lose your mother and you; I refused to have anything to do with her. She tried to black mail me; I ended up telling everything to your mother except anything about the child. I er' His voice cracked, She failed to break our marriage, I knew I was wrong, but I couldn't have accepted her deception and lies. She targeted her friend, Asad, because he was Najma's brother playing the same tricks with him as me except she somewhat succeeded.' Imran fell on the ground from his knees. 'All these years I've lived with this guilt, of hiding everything from everyone in fear of losing my wife and my children. I've just found out that Zain is not my son after all; Tanveer played a twisted game with all of us. But I'm still guilty, I've committed a sin. I'll never be able to forgive myself' His blurry eyes focused on the feet in front of him, he slowly looked up and whimpered finding a teary Najma staring down at him; both upset and disappointed in her husband. He held his head down in defeat; this was his punishment for wronging so many lives.

-

Tanveer closed her door shut and slowly walked up to her cupboard. She settled on the floor with a box,

'I've avenged for you my baby, I have destroyed him' Tanveer placed her hand over her stomach, tears escaping her eyes as she gathered her legs and placed her chin on her knees. She stroked the box with her thumb, before clicking it open. She took out a pair of baby socks and held it in front of her before brushing it against her cheek. She closed her eyes shut remembering Asad's harsh words,

A heavily pregnant Tanveer entered the house holding onto her bump; she was tired as heck. She looked up to find Asad standing there with his arms crossed; he was like a lion ready to pounce, his bitter expressions sent cold shivers down her spine. She was surprised to see him like this... so not vulnerable, he was... alive.

'Asad? Kya hua' Tanveer stepped forward, her eyes fell on some pink coloured documents in his hand; she tensed instantly realising her game was over. She pressed her forehead trying to think of a way out of this mess, no, after all her hard work; she wasn't going to lose everything so quickly. She looked around the room before staring at him again.

'What are you looking for Tanveer?' Asad asked softly, his tone calm and composed. He followed her gaze to the papers in his hands, 'Ahh this? Guess what I found Tanveer?' He spoke in a mocking tone; this woman had destroyed everything he had.

'Asad listen to me... I er' Asad put his hand up to stop her.

'Ammi?' Asad called his mother who came out of her room with a suitcase; Asad took it off her and threw it towards her feet. Tanveer flew back a few steps holding onto her bump, 'So let me just update you on my recent findings, your original pregnancy reports... Pregnancy reports that states that the father of your baby is NOT MEEE!' Asad shouted holding the papers open and pointing to it, 'YOU DISGUST ME, YOU ARE A PATHETIC CASE OF A WOMAN!' Asad scrunched up the papers in his hand and threw it at her. 'Take a good good luck, Tanveer Ahmed, take a damn good look at those papers. Take a look at the truth for once...' Asad pressed his temples in frustration, trying to keep his tears in.
'Because of you, BECAUSE OF YOUR LIE, I lost my Zoya. I lost everything good in my life. I am breathing but I am not alive. Sometimes doubt if I'm even breathing... Why did you do this, WHYYY?' Asad roared at her making her hold her chest in fear.

'Asad...'

'Don't you dare take my name with that filthy mouth of yours. DON'T YOU DARE!!!!!' He growled stepping forward, Dilshad held his shoulder to keep him back from physically attacking her; he was not in his senses right now.
'You know what; your child will be ashamed to call you Ammi! You don't deserve the love of the child you're carrying!' Asad looked at his mother and then back at her, 'YOU DON'T DESERVE ANYONE'S LOVE OR AFFECTION TANVEER AHMED!' Asad panted heavily, forehead creased, he held himself together in front of the woman who left no stones unturned to break him.
'Who's illegitimate child are you carrying? You've ruined my marriage, who else is there left for you to destroy! To think, I might have considered you a friend in our college days.' Asad spoke bitterly, disgusted. He took another box off his mother and opened it. He took out the bundle of notes throwing the box onto the floor with a clang, Tanveer watched with teary eyes feeling a sharp pain to her body.

'You did this for money, didn't you?' He asked her with red eyes, seething. He held the cash in front of her, ''YOU DID THIS FOR MONEY, HERE IT ISSS!' Tanveer held her hand over her face watching the bundle of money come at her as Asad looked at her disappointed. His rage had suddenly gone; he was too beaten to even take out his anger on her for tearing his family apart.

'AMMI, tell her to get out of here before I kick her out. Tell her to leave' Asad looked at his mother defeated, both of their eyes moved towards a crying Tanveer who held onto her stomach, Dilshad rushed towards her and held her,

'Asad, she's having labour pains' Dilshad looked at a torn Asad who slowly took out his phone and called for an ambulance before throwing his phone at her feet.

'Don't ever show your face here, again. Ammi, send her with the ambulances.' Asad walked towards his room and closed it shut leaving a pained Tanveer on the floor.

'Asad?!' Dilshad tried to stop him but it was futile.

'I'm sorry' The doctor looked at a questioning Tanveer,

'Sorry for what?' Tanveer snapped,

'You gave birth to a stillborn baby' The doctor placed her hand on Tanveer's distraught shoulders to comfort her but she threw her hand away.

'You killed my baby Asad Ahmad Khan, because of you, I lost my baby' Tanveer wiped her tears before standing back on her feet and walking towards the window,
'What did you say? My child will be ashamed to call me Ammi, I don't deserve anyone's love or affection?' Tanveer spoke in a dangerous tone, 'Your own son hates you, he is ashamed of the man you are. How abundantly the Lord has rewarded me, your daughter is on her deathbed. Your own son has broken the little faith you had left in you' Tanveer looked at the documents next to her; she swayed her hands over them.
'I know you will come to me, to beg for your daughter's life, BUT what do you have left to exchange in return for your daughter's life? NOTHING...' Tanveer grabbed the bottle of champagne and poured it into a glass before taking a sip and sighing leaning against the edge of the window.

'Come in' Tanveer smiled hearing a knock on the door.

'Mama?' Ahsaan entered the room, 'Are you okay?' He asked her,

I'm fine' Tanveer replied without looking back,

'I er Ayaa' Ahsaan's eyes fell on the box with the baby clothes; he closed his eyes before turning around and leaving without a word.

Tanveer turned around hearing the door close, she looked at the clothes on the floor and smiled,

'Feeling sorry for your sister hey?' Tanveer raised her eyebrow, 'Tsch, sorry son, if anything happens to your dear sister, your Abbu is to blame...'

-

'What happened?' Zain asked trying to keep his voice normal, his eyes moved in all directions but he refused to look into Zoya's eyes.

'Kya hua beta?' Zoya placed her hand on his cheek; You can tell me, I am like your mother' Zain looked at her, his sight suddenly blurry.

'Nothing' Zain shook his head at her; Zoya nodded not wanting to force him.

'If there is anything that you need to talk about, anything. I'm here, and I didn't apologise to you for everything you've gone through. I really am sorry, Asad's nature... He loves Ayaat, I know that there's this constant fear in his heart and mind that he will lose the both of us. He's been through a lot, I hope you understand. No no, just listen to me' She put his hand down, 'I know you too well, I know you're hurt, he didn't mean anything he said. And Ali, I really don't know what has gotten into him. I'm sorry for what they have done to you.' Zoya cupped his face, 'Whether anyone accepts it or not, you are my child and I love you. Always remember that.' Zain nodded in her hold.

'Is everything okay?' Zain asked her holding her hand against his cheek and kissing her palm,

'Oh haan, I called you to eat something. I'm just going to go home for a bit and lie down, Asad is going too. Could you sit with Ayaat please?'' Zoya smiled, 'I'll come back soon, and then you can go home and get some sleep-'

'Bas bas bas' Zain held her shoulders to stop her from talking, 'You don't need to ask, of course I'll stay here, you don't worry I'll take care of her. You rest properly. I am fresh as ever' He laughed,

'Fresh as ever ehhh' Zoya played her eyebrows, Zain looked at her with wide eyes rubbing the back of his neck with his hand, 'Naughty boy' Zoya tapped his cheeks pretending to hit him.

'Aap na' Zain shook his head feeling embarrassed; he walked around Zoya and entered the room to find Asad lecturing Ayaat.

'If I hear you've been jumping about, dekh na' Asad showed her his hand, 'Be a good girl and take all the medicines when the nurse comes' He looked at his watch, 'In an hour or so, I've left you a phone there, give me a call if you need anything. Okay?' Asad looked at Ayaat who was pretending to sleep, she looked at him with one eye, Asad pinched her nose making her burst out laughing,

'Okay, sorry!' Ayaat blew him a kiss before putting her cheek forward and pointing at it pouting,

'MWAH!' Asad placed a big fat smooch on her face holding onto her chin,

'ABBU' Ayaat playfully pulled his arm, he moved back and put his cheek forward.

'I love you Abbu' Ayaat blinked kissing him on his cheek before wrapping his arm around his neck pulling him down with her.

'Take care of yourself' Asad kissed her eyes.

'You too, bring me some kheer and some chocolates' Ayaat smiled widely showing her father her teeth.

'Chocolates chahiye? Teek hain, aur kuch?' Asad laughed watching her think,

'I'll text you!' Ayaat replied giving up,

'Crazy girl. I'll see you later, try to not destroy anything or anyone like your mother' Asad picked up the basket containing Ayaat's dirty clothes.

'Hawww! I'm going to tell her' Ayaat tried getting up, she grabbed the sponge next to her and threw at him, he dodged her throw and looked back at her,

'Haaa! Bye' He waved at her walking out of the room, Zain moved away and sat outside facing the other way.

'What took you so long' Zoya came towards him and wrapped her arm around his waist, she looked up at him as he grinned at her, he kissed her forehead before holding her waist protectively and walking out of the hospital with her. Zain smiled seeing them at peace in each other's arm; he prayed for them silently, he prayed for their happiness.

He knocked on the door and entered,

'Heyy' Ayaat looked up hearing Zain's husky voice, she grinned at him watching him come towards her, he sat on the bed taking out a red rose and stroking it against her cheek.

'Where did you go?' Ayaat asked him taking his hand and placing it on her stomach, 'Ouch' Ayaat's hand moved up as the needle pricked her hand, Zain brushed the top of her hand with his thumb trying to numb the pain, he looked up at her,

'Does it hurt?' He asked her,

Where did you go?' She asked him again tilting her head to read the emotions on his face,

'I went to find out about the missing pages in my life' Zain sighed heavily, remembering the documents. He was still waiting to get in contact with Chahat, only she could shed some light on the issue.

'Meaning?' She creased her forehead; Zain caressed her cheeks stroking his thumb over her head,

'I hate it when you look so confused, stop straining yourself' Zain scolded.

'Meaning?'

'Why are you so stubborn?' He asked her,

'As if you aint' She rolled her eyes, 'Zain tell me, what happened? Did you find out anything about your past? Zain tell me...' She moved his cheek to get him to look at her,

'I don't know Ayaat, I don't know. I just don't know what to believe anymore' Zain shook his head,

'Zain' Ayaat grunted trying to get up,

'What are you doing?' He helped her lean against the bed, Ayaat pulled him closer.

'Do you trust me?' She asked him,

'More than myself' He replied. He sighed and took out the documents before placing it on her lap. She nervously picked up the papers looking at him; he nodded at her to have a look. She opened it slowly,

'Tanveer?' Ayaat whispered before looking at him, 'What, I mean, how? You're not her son?' She blinked at the revelation in front of her. She placed her hand on his cheek placing the other around his neck and pushing him forward to rest his forehead against hers. 'You have suffered so much' Her thumb brushed his cheek continuously, 'No more' She kissed his cheek before looking into his eyes. His heart raced seeing the passion in her eyes along with deep love and care for him, his breathing got heavier along with his erratic heartbeats. He moved his hand up her shoulder and cupped her face; her eyes lowered feeling his warm breath all over her. Zain's eyes lingered on her lips as they parted, he moved closer, his lips brushed her hers momentarily before trailing up her cheek to her ears, Ayaat wrapped her arms around his neck tightly. Her rising chest thumped against his body, her eyes closed as she panted breathlessly on his neck setting tingles down his back causing every hair on his body to shoot upright.

'Don't ever leave me' Ayaat whispered,

'Where would I go leaving you?' He whispered back softly, 'I have no-one but you, you're the reason I breathe Ayaat. I love you so much, you have no idea how I lived through the last week.'

'Pata nahin Zain, agar mein jee paungi ya nahi lekin I want to-' Zain's hold tightened against hers,

'You will have to live, tumhe jeena hoga, mere liye' Zain told her, 'Maine kaha tha na, tumhe kuch nahin hoga. You will have to hold on tightly, none of us will let go of you.' He brushed his cheek past hers and looked at her, 'Yeh thi humari pehli jeet, this is our first win. You have no idea how badly I've prayed to the Almighty to change my past. I am not her son Ayaat. I am not like her. Me and you, it'll be alright' He half laughed with tears in his eyes as he kissed their fisted hands before resting his chin on it. Ayaat admired his relieved expressions as he closed his eyes; he seemed at peace after so long. There was a burden on his shoulders for the past 18 years; of being Tanveer's son. Her heart ached remembering everything he has gone through trying to prove that he might have been her son, but he wasn't like her. He had spent all his life trying to prove himself to others; especially to her father. She ran her fingers through his hair as he slowly placed his head on her lap. She wiped her tears quickly.

'I'm sorry Zain for everything you have suffered because of me. Not just physically but also mentally. I can see your wounds Zain; you will not say anything nor complain about your pain. What are you made of? Why didn't you fight back that day? Why?' She cried to herself, 'You have nothing to prove to anyone. Please fight for yourself, stand up for yourself. Do not sacrifice everything for us. I just want to see you smile now, that's enough for me. That's enough' Ayaat sighed, 'Our fates are one Zain, I'm not scared anymore. We were born to be with each other and I know that now. No matter what happens, we will find each other. Yes you are right, this is our first win but it isn't complete yet. I know what you're trying to say, but Abbu has to accept you without this revelation.' She leaned back against the bed. Her hands flapped in the air before holding her finger against her lips hearing one of the nurses enter,

'Shhh' Ayaat whispered pointing to Zain sleeping on her lap. The nurse nodded at her.

-

'What happened? Any luck?' Zoya asked closing the door behind her. Asad shook his head in a no.

'I've left a voicemail.' He told her breathing into his hands. I don't understand Zoya, why is this so hard? Have all the people that could save my daughter disappeared from this world' He shook his head disbelievingly. Zoya brushed her fingers through this hair; Asad tilted his head back looking up at her,

'We have to patient Asad; I know everything will be fine. I have faith' Zoya pressed her eyes at him,

'Faith is what I have been holding onto all these days' Asad closed his eyes placing his head against her stomach, 'I feel so restless Zoya, I've never felt this helpless. It's like 18 years ago all over again, It's like I'm on the edge and I'm going to fall any moment, I'm holding onto the thinnest rope that could snap anytime. I am not so strong Zoya, Almighty really is testing us. After all these years, I became an Abbu to a beautiful little angel and now she's suffering because of me.'

'Heyy, you are not to blame Asad.' Zoya got on her knees and held his hands, 'You did what any overprotective father would do, you wanted to protect your little girl. She really has grown up, I know you still see her as the little baby girl you always wanted to see her as. Anyways' She knew this wasn't the time to talk to him about Ayaat and Zain. She sighed remembering Ahsaan, 'Everything is so tangled right now, we have to keep our priorities straight, Ayaat. Right now, she is all that matters to us. It's not that I don't care about Ahsaan, I do, I really really do, he is my son Asad and I wish he could've been there for his sister who breathes his name. I know he will come back to us. I have that much faith. That's why I'm not worried, negative upbringing can always be replaced with positive upbringing. He is Asad Ahmad Khan's son, emotionally challenged tho hoga no doubt, but he will come round. As for Tanveer, I will not spare her. But right now, it's not the right time.'

'Sherni mode' Asad moved her face towards him and pecked her lips, falling back against the bed taking her whole body with him.

Zoya walked towards Asad wrapped in a towel, her body was wet from the shower; her sticky wet hair was taken over her left shoulder with the tips dripping, drop by drop wetting the side of the towel. Zoya shivered feeling the sudden gush of wind from the open window. Asad stepped towards her; the back of his fingers brushed her cheek upwards making her hold her cheek against her shoulder. She looked at him from the corner of her eyes and blushed seeing his eyes admire her. His hand wrapped around her waist and pulled her towards his bare chest, her hair flew against his face making him grunt.

'Ouch' Asad laughed, Zoya looked at him innocently scrunching up her nose to apologise, she whispered an apology. Asad brushed her rosy cheeks with his thumb before placing a soft kiss in its place. Zoya tip toed as Asad lifted her face in his hands placing numerous wet kisses on her neck; she closed her eyes, her breathing heavier than before. Asad was intoxicated with her scent, with all sorts of desires running wildly through him just taking in her smell; she's even more heavenly after a shower. He trailed his kisses all over her face making her hum with pleasure. Asad smiled against her skin as Zoya's hand too played with his bare chest. She stepped back suddenly jerking him out of his daydream, he creased his eyebrows; what was that for? She moved around him shrugging her shoulders and walked towards the window. He turned around feeling upset that she ruined his moment, he followed behind her slowly. She turned and walked backwards, playing her eyebrows at him making him grin.

'Asad' Zoya whispered softly; almost teasing him as he stared at her plumped lips. Her hands brushed over the top of her towel making his eyes go over her chest, up her neck and then her biting lips. His crooked smile had Zoya's knees wobbling, she held herself together as similar emotions as him ran through every vein in her body screaming passion. His toned abs, his Adonis like body, his broad naked chest glistening in her eyes, she turned on her feet suddenly hearing the thunderstorms, she stumbled back a few steps and hit his wall like chest, instantly turning and hiding her face in his chest. Her breathing went short and uneven as her heart raced to keep up with her. She closed her eyes and shook her head against his chest hearing his laughs echo back in her ears with the sudden sound of the crashing rain. She slowly looked up at him and blushed meeting his teasing eyes, she turned around to go, his arm hooked around her stomach, she forcefully moved with it before being yanked back against his chest. Her back creased as their skin touched, he tightened his hold around her pushing her against him.

'Zoya' He whispered in to her ears before blowing softly on her neck, she squirmed in his hold holding her head against his face to stop him from teasing her. He laughed against her neck before kissing it playfully, she wriggled with every kiss. His other hand went around and turned her cheek towards his lips, he closed his eyes listening to the rain in the background and Zoya's heavy breathing. He stopped momentarily taking in the moment; he slowly turned her around and cupped her face. Zoya's eyes remained lowered allowing him take control over her body and soul. Asad grunted loudly opening his half-closed eyes hearing the phone ring behind him, Zoya laughed seeing his expressions.

'If it's Ayaan, I will kill him' Asad warned behind her,

'Asad, Ayaan is upstairs. You na' She shook her head picking up the phone, 'Nikita?' She looked at Asad with wide eyes.
'Hello?' Zoya greeted unsure, she walked back towards Asad's arms.

'Loud speaker' Asad whispered, Zoya nodded putting it on loud speaker, she placed the phone on the window sill as they both leaned against the edge and listened.

'Heyy, Zoya. How are you?' Nikita smiled.

'I'm good thanks, you? Kya hua Nikita, everything alright?' Zoya creased her forehead; Nikita laughed on the other side, Asad looked at Zoya reassuringly.

'Everything is fine. Ayaat is stable don't worry. I don't have any bad news; I just wanted to get rid of your worries. I know you are stressed, calm down okay? I only called to check up on you' Nikita told her, Zoya breathed out.

'You scared me.'

'Sorry sorry! Is Asad there?' Nikita asked mischievously, Asad shook his head in a no.

'No, why?' Zoya asked her,

'You know what would've been great right now?' Nikita laughed,

'What?'

'If you two could've made another baby and popped it out right about now?' Zoya burst into a coughing fit; she looked at Asad's raised eyebrow and smirk.

'That's-' Zoya's hand smacked over Asad's mouth as they both fought with each other, she shook her head sideways.

'What? At this age?' Zoya tried keeping her voice normal, Asad freed his mouth and held both of her wrists beside him. Her eyes widened feeling the towel come loose, 'Let go' She whisper yelled at him. Asad smiled victoriously, Zoya jumped on her toes trying to release her hands.

'You still have time' Nikita joked on the other side, Asad's eyes widened with excitement, he nodded at her. She pulled her wrists and before she knew it, she fell backwards onto the floor with a loud thud with Asad on top of her.
'What happened?' Nikita asked,

'Nothing nothing' Zoya exhaled, 'You and your suggestions. Please keep them to yourself' Zoya stared at Asad pouting.

'NO? Come on Zoya, you know it would've been a help for Ayaat. You know because of their...' Nikita teased, Asad stared at Zoya; not even for your daughter?
'Anyways, I'm joking. Hope everyone is okay at home. Don't worry, I'm here. I'll take care of her, you two rest up. Bye'

'Bye' Zoya shouted before looking at Asad playing with his eyebrows. 'Please Asad, we're both getting old'

'We aren't old... yet!' Asad kissed her chest making her squirm on the floor. He sat upright and watched her on the floor, he put his hand out of the window gathering the rain drops in his palm before bringing it inside and throwing it over. Zoya shrieked feeling the water sprinkle over her, she turned her face sideways as he kissed her belly over the towel, her chose rose upwards feeling him trail his kisses up to her neck. She tilted her body sideways making Asad fall onto the ground next to her before pulling her body over him. He tucked her hair behind her ears before bringing her lips to his,

'I love you' Zoya mumbled in between the kiss, Asad smiled deepening the kiss. He brushed his hand down to her waist before turning over with her below him. They were both intoxicated with each other's taste as they refused to let go of each other, this kiss was passionate as the ones before yet it sparked fire like never before. Zoya pressed upwards against his body, her fingers trailed on his back before tangling in his hair. She pulled at his hair, making him moan irritatingly and reluctantly part her lips to gasp for air. He instantly went back down and pecked her lips,

'I' He pecked it again, 'Love' He pecked her again, 'You too' He impatiently grabbed her lips again making Zoya giggle. He took his fingers down the side of her arm not letting go of her lips, he fixed his fingers in between hers before sliding both of her arms upwards, he moved his lips down her cheek to her neck, Zoya closed her eyes and tilted her head. He brought his hand down and loosened her towel slowly revealing her side. She shivered suddenly feeling the cold air hit her side, she placed her arms around the nape of his neck pulling herself upwards, trying to feel the warmth of his body. She kissed his neck feeling his wrap over her...

'Leave the needle in, yeah' Ayaat watched as Zain disconnected the wires from her cautiously. She smiled at him seeing him so scared. Zain lifted her up into his arms before walking her around the room into the bathroom.

'You'll be okay right, should I call the nurse?' Zain spoke worriedly,

'I'm good' She blinked at him watching him close the door.

'I'm right here' He told her.

'Ayaat?' Zain opened the door slowly hearing some noise, 'Stop stop' He rushed towards her as she tried to stand against the sink. 'Why didn't you call me?' He scolded her.

'Sorry' She spoke innocently, Zain watched as she held the railing for support, her gown halfway down her shoulder revealing most of her chest and arm. She looked away feeling embarrassed, he brushed her cheek pulling the gown onto her shoulder before lifting her up again. He looked into her eyes as she stared at him; he realised how self-conscious she was feeling with his eyes on her. She dug her face further into his chest hearing the thunderstorm outside; he rested her chin on her head to help her feel protected. She slowly looked up at him brushing her lips past his chin; her placed her on the bed before walking towards the window. He removed the blinds and opened the window; he looked back at her and smiled.

'I wish I could get soaked in the rain' Ayaat closed her eyes holding her cheek against her shoulder feeling the cool breeze against her skin. He stepped towards her ignoring the eyes peeking in through the small window on the door; the back of his fingers caressed her face before leaning forward and holding his forehead against hers; both of them closed their eyes.

'Very soon, we will. I promise' He smiled.

GAHHH, Idk what I call this update. Wrote it confused. LOOL!

Sorry for trying to make you feel sorry for Tanveer, that was not my intention. I hate her with every breath left in me. Zain is not Tanveer's child, YAYAYAA! I know I moved the focus from Ahsaan and Ayaat slightly. I know their reactions to Ahsaan's revelation could have been better, I just didn't know how else to pen it down. I hope you guys understand where I'm coming from.

Anyhoo, I hope I haven't disappointed any of you guys. Thank you for supporting this SS till now, it means so much. Ignore any mistakes or spelling errors, they're mine mine mine! Do leave your beautiful comments behind.

P.S. I may not have done justice to the title of the SS, I apologise to anyone who was disappointed and did not get what they may have expected from this SS. I tried my best.

Much loves <3

P.S.S. I have a sequel in mind: Father of the bride? Yay or nay? Maybe not. LOOL!
