I don't watch d3, because more I watch it, the more I fell in love with you swayam.
These lines are not said by me, but by a general viewer on official page of D3. Swayam shekhwat is the most loved character of D3. This one line says it all about the love for the character swayam in D3. Undoubtedly he is the every girl's dream and his not so hero like appearance appeal to a lot of girls. Well I can proudly say that I am among those fans that started watching d3 for Swayam shekhwat, his innocence, his love, his purity and his dance. Many fans are swayam's fans before being a SwaRon and a D3 fan.
But from past six months his character has been very callously handled by the CVs. His role has been neglected in each and every track. I can only see him standing like a puppet and nodding his head on everyone's decisions. His point of view is missing and that is the most important thing for any character's growth.
Swayam's character as never been a typical hero, rather I always call him an unsung hero. He was never centre of attraction but nobody could have ignored his presence in any scene or track. His dialogues, expressions, dance, simplicity are his USP. And touchwood, Shantanu Maheshwari still holds that charm to attract viewer's attention.
The main problem lies in writing part. There is no exclusivity for the role of LEAD character in the story. Even the gang and rest of people are given more footage and importance as compared to the LEAD, swayam shekhwat.
Give me one track where swayam's character was given importance in last seven months? Even the ruhi track was handled very carelessly from swayam's point of view. He was shown dumb, insensitive and what not in that track, which are against the basic nature of his character. If ruhi track worked, it worked because of Sharon-ruhi tashan, which audience liked, a diva standing up for her love.
Now coming to the mommy track. I cannot see any mention of swayam in SRP- MRP convos, infact the exclusivity which should have been given to swayam, is kept for the gang. I just can't understand it is swayam who loves Sharon, he is her boyfriend, so why Sharon is only being shown as gang's friend? Is it that important for the track? I am sure none is interested in watching a goddy friend, and her mommy separating her daughter and her friends. Everyone wants to see a love story.
Next is swayam's passive portrayal in SwaRon's story. Yesterday what I saw, I was too shocked to believe it. Swayam couldn't sense sharon's intentions. She was giving lame excuses and he was ready to believe her so easily. He was the same person who sued to read sharon's thoughts through her eyes, but its very strange that he failed to understand her lie.
Also, he has always wanted SwaRon to be a couple for five years. I am sorry, but I am not able to see any yearning and sincerity for this love story. Confession was brilliantly done, but after that the romance has not pitched to the SwaRon level. I always wanted to see how swayam will take Sharon on dates and how he will do something special for her after being into a relationship. But sadly SwaRon are restricted to a cute couple only. Yes I love all those hugs and mature talks, but really want to see something beyond cuteness, want to see loverboy swayam and intense and passionate romance of SwaRon.
Sometimes I feel really bad for Shantanu Maheshwari. His talent is not been explored by the CVs. Even the side characters got solo and new entries are getting it from starting only. But this guy who remained pillar of D3 from last three years has got only ONE solo and that too two years back. He is the most neglected actor of d3 and now his character has also been ignored by the cvs in the show.
Sometimes I feel that maybe cvs are not able to handle his swayam's character or they can't write upto swayam's level.
All I wanna say is that there is strong need to revive swayam's character in the show. Writers should focus on his individuality and screenspace in the tracks. And please please give us his solo, it has been ages, since we have got it _/\_
Ps- As I always say, how many deaths they give to Swayam, but our love for Shantanu Maheshwari will never be less. Because its Shantanu over swayam đ
