I'm wondering the same thing..
CVs need to clear this confusion on Mala's marital status.
And where is Tejawat... Why aren't they showing him looking for his wife?

Thank you, my thoughts exactly, I am not so broadminded to think that she is still the wife of the hero's father, so I don't know what the heck the creatives are trying to portray, and I am sure the Indian audience are as confused as we are here at IF.
The brother should not call her sister-in-law either.

At best she is the hero's half-baked mother who left her son and husband for another man.

This upsets me to no end everytime I see this woman on my screen, that I actually fast forward her scenes, she is too stonic and fake for my taste and seems to not know her own mind.

If she really was like this to begin with then how the hell did she leave her child and husband for another man. šŸ„±šŸ˜†

Yup Mala's story is not explained well at all...her reasons, her marital, status, her thoughts, her feelings are all vague despite so much time spent on her these past few days...You don't feel anything but irritation for her...and where did Thakursa disappear again...

This point has been perplexing me for some time.. Does anyone know what the traditional Hindu take on divorce is? I think I read/heard somewhere that divorce isn't possible under Hindu law.. Is that correct? I ask because that would mean that she was never married to Thakur, since she never split from Dilsher? I think..? Ok, now I've confused myself even more..
