Salman Khan at his evasive best when asked about Preity Zinta

Salman who is known to liven up any event with his wisecracks and slightly unusual sense of humour was at his evasive best at the trailer launch of his latest film Kick that took place this evening at Mumbai's Gaiety cinema.

When asked about his views on the difficulty faced by his friend and former co-star Preity Zinta who has filed molestation charges against her former boyfriend Ness Wadia, Salman ducked the question by telling the journalist, "Aap galat jagah par hain." The journalist insisted on asking her question because Salman is a close friend of Preity, who had even supported her by doing a special song in her last film Ishkq in Paris. Salman again repeated, "Aaap galat jagah par hain." The journalist tried her best to elicit a response from Salman but he again did not respond and even said, "Who will take the mike away from her?" As the journalist kept repeating her question he started doing dance steps on the dais, which was greeted to a thunderous response from the junta.

In the huge applause that followed the journalist's question on Preity was forgotten. Salman even announced, "Only you are interested in that question. The others here have come to know more things about Kick."

Incidentally Salman's former friend Shah Rukh was also engaged at around the same time as Kick's trailer was being launched. At Kidzania, an interactive entertainment zone for children in Ghatkopar in the Eastern suburb of Mumbai Shah Rukh was there to celebrate Father's Day with children of Smile Foundation. Often it has happened in the past that SRK and Salman have had events on the same day around the same time. Salman retorted by stating, 'I do not know what is going to happen in the next five seconds. How can I do any other kind of planning?"

When asked about the most romantic kick he has experienced in his life, he again changed the topic by choosing to answer an earlier question about cycling and explained his association with cycling.

When asked to elaborate on his role in Kick Salman had a strange answer to that as well. "This time I will not speak about the role in the film because phir log imagine kar lete hain ki kya hoga film mein aur phir film nahin dekhte." Wonder why the superstar was not kicked about speaking on his own film?

He was at his kick trailer launch and it wasnt the right time to ask, and Salman is close to Preity and she as said in bolly he was te one to help her the most, and during IPL is was her team he was rooting

What do people expect that stars should say when there is a controversy surrounding one of their brethren? Salman was not there when the incident happened, the court judgement is not out, there can always be two sides to any story. He is not a common man on a faceless forum passing judgement wily-nily. He is a celeb and his words carry weight among the general public. Why do people expect him to shoot his mouth regarding a story which just broke out yesterday and the veracity or genuineness of either party is still awaiting full disclosure?

Good that he did not answer.. Best was that he, not so subtly, told off the journalist..
