As far as I know, Ruqaiyya became quite possessive of her loved ones with time.
You must be knowing 'bout Khurram's upbringing. She was covetous of him.

Dunno 'bout her 'envy' issues with Jodha.

historically no document states ruqaiah never allowed jodha bai and jehangir to meet their son khuuram neither jehangirnama nor padshah nama etc any historical book or mughal chronicle every mention it. And khuuram was very close to real mom jodha and was devastaed by her death and built her a huge tomb in agra that was sold by british and then demolished. That tomb was said to be as big as taj mahal.
Historically no document also states that akbar got angry with ruqaiah and did not speak to her for 7-8 years etc. In jehangirnama and padshahnama etc its stated akbar loved ruqiah most among his wives and never refused any of her wishes. And on her recommendation only akbar finally declared salim as heir instead of khusrau whom he had decided to make next emperor. So ruqaiah had that much command on akbar's life as to change his most important decision of heir to throne. Ruqaiah and Rahim were also incharge of salim's education.
What is written above jodha not allowed to meet khuuram by ruqaiah and given fixed time of 4 hours is in the fiction book on mughals. Its a story fiction book not historical book that these stories are quoted from.

Yes, Akbar was very fond of Ruqaiya, but now where in Jhangirnama there has been mentioned that he loved Ruqaiya the most .It mentions that she was his father honorable's wife. There are multiple copies of Jhangirnama which contradict each other. They are so many version , and there have been so much addition. It was due to all the pleading ladies from harem that Jhangir was forgiven and made the next heir , not just Ruqaiya. What most surprises me is Ruqaiya is mentioned that her power came b/c she was a Mughal blood , a Trimuid princess. My question is why did not Ruqaiya wanted to be buried besides her husband. You know i researched a lot who helped Akbar and Salim solve their differences, most of the sources give Salima Begum the credit. She was the main force behind it. About Jodh Bai, I just feel sorry for her. What an unfortunate way to die and live. She could not even enjoy her rights when her son was made Emperor. Honestly, I feel sorry for Akbar that his successors did not have an inch of brain that he did. Jhangir, a crack addict, and Shah Jahan, no comment, Aurzanjeb, a pyscho.đŸ„±

I have printed copy of jehangirnama and baburnama, akbarnama etc from oxford press which is a translation of the original version. I have not read any online version. This book is copied from the original jehangirnama that is available in the british meseum it mentions.
In that Jehangir says his father loved Ruqaiah like no other wife of his and always fulfilled her wishes. Hence his son khurram was given to Ruqaiah.
Man Singh, Aziz Koka, Rahim etc all wanted Khusrau to be emperor but Ruqaiah and Salima supported Jehangir and hence Akbar changed his decision at last minute and called Jehangir and crowned him next emperor.
Ruqaiah also credited with pardon of aziz koka else jehangir wanted to kill him for his role in khusrau bhagawat.
Regarding burial, its once choice. Ruqaiah was only child of Hindal so always only child prefer to bury with parents usually even in 21st century as they are most close to parent.
And she would definetly have felt betrayed in her heart by Akbar for marrying 300 wives after all she is first wife. Its her goodness she allowed him so many wives else another first wife would have raised hell. If Ruqaiah was bad no way Akbar could marry so many. And Akbar surely know this hence quoted in mid age that he should have only married once at most twice if first wife do not have children if he was mature at young age.
Ruqaiah was a 9 year old child when married to Akbar she did not have any choice. Same for Akbar but he is a male he can marry many after growing up which Ruqaiah could not do. Hence she accepted her fate and loved her husband immensely which he did not reciprocate by marrying so many woman and cocubbines and maids etc. But with age he understood his fault how he had betrayed his first wife trust and hence stated so.
So why make Ruqaiah look like villan because akbar married 300? After hira also he married 295? So is hira bad hence he married other 295 we can say that also right? We cannot just assume and start potraying other wives as villans to justify one marriage love story that is in itself a suspect and non existant one.
Akbar had many fav wives be it Hira, Daulat Shad, Rukmavati, Salima but Ruqaiah was his most close confidant and one whom he listened to in matters related to politics and family especially. Akbar was not jehangir or shah jahan who were in love with one woman be it nur jahan or mumtaz that theydid not care about other wives.

no one knows how the real jodha, rukaiya personalities were they did not wrote any biography by own because womens were in strick pardha they were not allowed
akbar was illitrate his famous accounts were written by abul fazl & baduni
abu fazl is one of the sycophant a big CHAMCHA of akbar he never wrote anything against him nor criticized him
''After conquering Chittor fort akbar ordered to massacre the inhabitants of chittor'' & what abul fazl wrote on this he tried his best to cover akbar brutality
i haven't read baduni accounts yet but so far i read he mostly criticized akbar on his religious policy.

rukaiyya didn't let khurram meet his mother sounds cruel & possessive but what will you say about akbar? it was akbar who ordered to took away khurram from his mother & handed him to rukaiyya because a astrologer predicted the baby will be a successor & do you guys think akbar is not aware of the restriction? he was well aware of it so what will you call akbar then? as far i read there was no restriction in khurram meeting his mother the restriction was living with parents. jahangir himself mention in jahangirnama ''rukaiyya loved khurram a thousand times more then if he had been her own'' & khurram shahjahan him self praised rukaiyya in his biography & THANKS to rukaiyya upbringing khurram didn't get the habbit of alcohol drinking, later in the age 24 jahangir introduced his son khurram with wine

why rukaiyya not wished to buried next to his husband akbar? only rukaiya knew
but as per Islamic custom there is nothing like that husband wife should be buried next to each other, nor in muslims it is allow to beleive that beloved husband wife should be buried near. the best exp of this is Prophet Muhammd(P.B.U.H) & his most beloved wife Hazrat Ayesha as per Hazrat Ayesha will she was buried in Jannat ul Baqih(graveyard) not near her husband.

so far i read in jahangir rebellion case both jodha, rukaiya were silent it was only hameda banu & saleema begum who tried to solve the matter

another line i often read akbar didn't talk to rukaiya for 7 years it sounds almost impossible 7 years in which book or contemporary accout its written? rukaiyya was akbar cousin, they were married in childhood they were together in the hard, struggeling days till young akbar became the emperor in 1556 & rukaiyya the youngest mughal empress
it sounds impossible akbar didn't talk with rukaiyya for 7 yrs because she ploted something against his beloved jodha đŸ€Ș akbar was not a lover boy like jehangir or shahjahan nor he is under the influence of any of his wife akbar loved his kingdom the most Even his marriage with the Hindu Ladies was a part of his conciliation and consolidation policy. thats why akbar is considered as the great Mughal Emperor.
