Moron is used for Ron. Well he "grossly misunderstood" his friends and esp Harry, and like a moron abandoned them right amid trying times. However, upon coming to his senses, when he kept sad, helpless and withdrawn, it was the deluminator that led him to his treasure(his friends).

i guess its simple enough...

Many have used the excuse to flee their fate,

But if you know me, you would know, for me that wasn't the case.

During Voldy's earlier regime many people were put under the imperius curse to carry out the dark lord's bidding..however some like the Malfoys & others participated out of their own free will..but after Voldy's first temporary downfall, people like the malfoys falsely claimed to have been under the curse..however, in Thicknesse's case, it is very well known that he was indeed under the influence of the curse..

Position & power is the dream of many,

Yet the same things leads to troubles unforeseen, as you did see,it made me commit the felony.

The reason that death eaters went after him is that due his power & position in the ministry , Thicknesse could very well b used to infiltrate the ministry further with much ease of access to other important officials..which is exactly what he was used 4..

Although I wasn't an easy catch for one of the dedicated dark ones,

But when he did , he knew, for all the wrong reasons , he got a good one.

Death eater Yaxley did brag about the fact how difficult it was to put Pius under the curse bcoz he did resist the curse several times but finally gave in..Yaxley knew very well that Pius could very well be used to infiltrate the ministry further..

I too took part in the great battle,the cause may not have been a good one,

But what does it matter now? For it strengthened the bond between a father & a son.

Pius also fought in the battle at Hogwarts from the death eaters' side under the influence of the curse..

Moreover, Arthur & Percy together overpowered Pius thereby strengthening the bond between the formerly estranged father & son.
