Since Ashish broke on to our screens in Rangrasiya, he has never disappointed us or over played his hand.
For sure, we have seen more deeply rooted issues in his character than with any other actor in a soap. Yes I'm referring to the emotional state of Rudra whenever he goes back in time to when his mother was around and then when she callously abandoned him as a young boy.
We know already that Ashish takes his acting seriously and goes to great lengths to prepare for each scene. Today, we saw him returning to the train and finding his wife missing and nowhere to be seen! We witnessed first hand his struggle to locate her. Frantic to find her safe so he could hug her and tell he just how scared he had been for her.
We witnessed what he dreaded, the woman he loved, had once again disappeared into thin air until his cousin Maithili called him to check on them. Once he heard about Paro's vachan from her, he was crushed with emotion. She had left him. His face in shock and deep pain. Tears of disbelief and devastation and too crucified and impotent to move. That aged long pain in his face resurfacing yet again. That deep seated sorrow returning as it had done daily for the past 15 years up until a day ago, when Paro had confessed her undying and unstinting love for him.
His happiness was short lived. Just one day as yet again, another beautiful woman had abandoned him but in doing so she was still stabbing away at his heart strings. He had just started to live. He'd let her get close enough to him to hurt him again. He could hardly breath. He cried!
Alone again, misery and utter devastation etched on his handsome face the way only Ashish can deliver time after time in his performances.
