Tamil Nadu - Question on ticket prices

Seeing how the Rs100 crore club is so highly esteemed, and knowing the power of the superstars in the Tamil industry, I was wondering why there were fewer movies in that club.

Is it true that the ticket prices are capped at around Rs120 for Tamil movies in TN?

If that is the case, the few movies that made it to the club must have had phenomenal audience views to have made so much , considering that hindi movie tickets are priced mostly above Rs. 300 (going to nearly Rs900 in some cases) and that too to a much wider audience

Yes ! The rules are strict and no ticket costs more than Rs 120 . (atleast in my city )

Exceptional cases are Rajini's where the ticket costs are slightly higher but less than 200 .

I was so surprised when I read that and wanted confirmation!!! WOW!!! I never realised the kind of audience pull these guys have to bring in so much revenue.
