Saif finds his Queen?
Director Reema Kagti has asked Kangana Ranaut to star opposite the Nawab of Pataudi in her next film.
While she garnered both critical and commercial success with Vikas Bahl's Queen, Kangana couldn't create the same magic in the follow up, the Sai Kabirdirected Revolver Rani. However, that hasn't stopped plum offers from coming her way. A few weeks ago she was offered Sujoy Ghosh's Durga Rani Singh, which she declined.
And now Mirror has learnt that before she flew off to New York to continue her script-writing course, Reema Kagti, who last directed the Aamir Khan-Rani Mukerjee- Kareena Kapoor starrer, Talaash, met up with the actress for a detailed narration of her next project.
To be produced by Excel Entertainment, the film will see Saif Ali Khan reuniting with the banner after their memorable collaboration in Dil Chahta Hai. As far as the female lead is concerned, Kangana is Reema's first choice. The decision to cast her was taken right after she watched Queen.
A source close to the development told Mirror, "Kangana and Reema had a comprehensive discussion on the film. Kangana is really impressed with the detailing with which the script has been written. It's a drama which has a very strong romantic angle to it."
However, the source insisted that a final call by Kangana will be taken only once the actress returns from New York in the first week of July.
"Presently, she is only committed to Aanand L Rai's Tanu Weds Manu sequel and Sai Kabir's Divine Lovers with Irrfan Khan. If this film works out, it will be the first time she will be seen opposite Saif."
Kangana remained unavailable for comment. Some sources say kareena kapoor is upset with this news, as she was hoping to be signed by Reema and the gang.
