Forget whether Ekta is following the novel or not
She said,
''The essence of the show is that in life you meet many people who will touch your life through various things, different moments and different people will come and go and there are going to be different stages of love and relationships but the one person who sticks by you at your worst is the one that matters and if that person is the one who is weaved in your destiny through the Kumkum that is in your maang then that's a relationship to actually cherish for life and you never know that. Destiny for women at least till she gets married is different and after marriage destiny changes because it is linked with someone else''
'' In this show the philosophy is that emotionally and in any which way if anyone stays with you in good times or in bad times he is important for you.''
So she wanted to show dat it is Suresh who stand for Bulbul at her bad times. Purab isn't courageous enuf to be with her and he gives himself to situations.
Later he may even turn evil to conquer Bulbul( she want us to hate that character) and finally die
or they may show him adjust with Aaliya
No matter how she and CVs show him, i will never stop loving the character since it's all their thoughts
In my thoughts Purab and Bulbul run away from this mad fellows world and after eloped, get married and live happily thereafter
One day when Abhi, Pragya after their marriage sees them, they understand the circumstances that led them do like that and pardon them
Dadi and Sarla too happy for them
All happies

I know serial won't be interesting withou hurdles, they shud be but in a different way
But i'm also happy dat she said,
"For me audience is most important."
So she can change the story accordingly to the audience taste and that which helps boosting up the TRPs.Atlast till now her thought is to separate Pulab with Bulbul, but upon
viewers requests she can show Purab's love can make anything to standup fo her and also he don't leave friendhip too.
She also mentioned that the novel is left far behind that it completely turned out into a different story now.
"It is inspired by the classic novel Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen which I liked when I saw the film based on it and then I started writing it in my own way. I changed scripts, writers when I thought that the base of the story was wrong so then I changed it all over again. I think I left the classic long behind when me and my writers weaved a very different tale out of it."
