A slick diamond robbery takes place in India. The robber is none other than Rocky (Chunky Pandey) who's the nephew of Chowksi (Gulshan Grover), a Don based in London. Chowksi tells Rocky to sell the diamond to his brother Lalwani (Asrani) in Dubai. Lalwani is a dealer of smuggled gems and jewellery. But he warns Rocky to stay away from guns and gambling, which is his weakness, to ensure nothing goes wrong.

On the other hand, the local mafia in Dubai, Moscow Chikna (Arbaaz Khan) is torturing Choubey (Paresh Rawal) because he was unable to return the money he had loaned from Moscow Chikna. Choubey owns a junk shop and was facing major loses. He gets information about the diamond robbery from one of his informants. He is also made aware of the involvement of the International mafia Chowksi. To keep a low profile, Moscow Chikna asks Choubey to get the diamond for him, only after which he will leave him. Choubey gets along with Raja (Shahid Kapoor), a fast robber, and Tina (Ayesha Takia) who's his niece to plan the robbery of the precious diamond.

Luckee (Viveik Oberoi) and Bob (Suresh Menon) own a small video and game parlour in Dubai. To earn a little extra money they also promote new fighters who want to take part in illegal boxing matches in Dubai.

Fool n Final - Music Review

By Joginder Tuteja, April 28, 2007 - 08:39 IST

Himesh Reshammiya gave at least two chartbuster tracks, 'Ae Meri Zohrajabeen' and 'Yaad Sataye Teri' in Firoz Nadiadwala's last film 'Phir Hera Pheri'. Hence it was imperative that he was repeated for the enterprising producer's latest offering Fool N Final. Boasting of a mammoth starcast led by Sunny Deol, Shahid Kapoor, Viveik Oberoi, Bipasha Basu and Ayesha Takia, 'Fool N Final' is a film by choreographer turned director Ahmed Khan who earlier debuted with 'Lakeer'.

With number of dance hits behind him, least what is expected from the songs of 'Fool N Final' is lavish choreography that gives hopes to elevate this soundtrack by Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer. Now that is actually the need of the situation since without a promise of some eye pleasing choreography, there is nothing else that can potentially lift this score by Reshammiya.

There are just four tracks in the entire album. Though it does raise an eyebrow, what really sounds threatening at the very face value is the presence of remix version of each of the tracks. There was a time when a remix version sounded like a good idea, but not anymore; especially when it is all mundane, routine and very much expected. Nevertheless one moves on to the album to check it out in entirety.

In current scenario it is a pleasant surprise to read the name of some other singer on an inlay card when an album is composed by Himesh Reshammiya. This is the reason why 'Tere Layee' starts on one-up when Kunal Ganjawala and Himani are the names that you read for the very first track. A racy track that isn't anything special lyrically, it is sheer rhythm, arrangements and some underground feel to the proceedings which makes 'Tere Layee' instantly catchy.

The beats are at just the right places while the mixing demonstrates some good effort that would have gone in making this song the highlight of the album. It actually turns out to be the one because this is the first and last time in the album when you actually enjoy a track thoroughly (except for those four minutes in the middle of the album when its padded-with-additional-beats-remix version arrives). While Kunal is spirited as usual, Himani, who is currently being utilized mainly by Himesh, does well yet again in her trademark husky rendition.

New find Hanif Shaikh croons 'Yeh Dooriyan' with a punch to give it that youthful edge. An average sounding track, it could probably have been elevated to a decent level if it was picturised on Emraan Hashmi but over here in 'Fool N Final' it depends a lot on how it comes across on screen. The basic tune is nothing special and though the arrangements are done well to make it flow in a distinct western rhythm, one is not overtly kicked while hearing 'Yeh Dooriyan', neither in its original nor the 'remix versio'n.

One of the most inane tracks in the recent times comes in the form of 'Ek Kalsa' [whatever that means!]. With lyrics that go like 'Ek Kalsa, Do Kalsa, Teen Kalsa.....' and so on and so forth, it can be simply termed as a strange number for lack of any better reference. Supposed to be a love song, it starts with an annoying crooning of 'Ek Kalsa....' before Reshammiya debuts as a singer in the album with his rendition of 'Tere Bina Kya Meri Life Kya Sapna'.

There is absolutely no novelty in either the tune, arrangements or singing and the song threatens to fade into oblivion until and unless Ahmed Khan does something remarkably with this painful track. Just like the rest of the album, this track too is based on western rhythm though it truly misses spunk of any kind, even though it is followed by a similar sounding 'remix version'.

Last song of the album isn't particularly exceptional either as 'Sigdi' turns out to be a track composed keeping Sunny Deol's fans in mind. With reference to a girl being a 'sigdi', this one mixes Punjabi, Western and 'kabeela' genre of songs and results in a 'bhel puri' that is just not spicy enough to make you ask for more. It is just the fast paced rhythm that may help one sit through the track when being played on screen.

While the 'mukhda' is still bearable, the subsequent portions are such drags that one wonders about the kind of effort that would have gone in finalizing this track. The remix version comes with some Punjabi elements added in the instruments but when the foundation itself is so weak, how can one expect any turnaround in fortunes through change in arrangements?

Ok, now what is this all about? Classic 'Jo Waada Kiya Wo Nibhana Padega' is electronically given a child-like sound to play in the background as 'Masti remix' brings the album to its end. Songs heard before in their remix versions now cross paths with each other at numerous junctures but that's about it.

Except for this four minute musical piece being used for the promotional purpose in true Firoz Nadiadwala style, what with flying vehicles and humans amidst exotic locations, there is nothing else to look forward in Kunal Ganjawala, Himani, Himesh Reshammiya, Jayesh Gandhi and Hanif Shaikh rendered 'Masti remix'.

While 'Ek Kalsa' and 'Sigdi' are hardly the tracks to remember, 'Yeh Dooriyan' can be heard at least till it lasts. This leaves the onus completely on 'Tere Layee' to provide 'Fool N Final' some momentum. Though even 'Tere Layee' isn't slotted as a chartbuster of the year, it at least gets your feet tapping that gives Reshammiya something to cheer about.

Fool N Final is a fun ride
By IndiaFM News Bureau, May 30, 2007 - 09:14 IST

Firoz Nadiadwala and Ahmed Khan's Fool N Final seem to be nothing short of an extravaganza, at least for those who love powerful, elegant vehicle or just plain thrilling means of transportation. IndiaFM presents to you a peep into Fool N Final to find out what modes of enchantment you can expect.

Hummers Hummers everywhere

We begin our ride with the Hummers in the film. Now this is not the first time Firoz Nadiadwala will have had Hummers in his film. We saw these military turned civilian vehicles in his Hera Pheri, Awara Paagal Deewana and Deewane Huye Paagal.

Firoz's fascination with the mean machine continues with Fool N Final. However this time he seemed to have gone all out mainly because we don't just see a couple of Hummers but much more. "In one of the scenes from the film there are these whole series of Hummers. There is the H1 Alpha Hummer, the Hummer H2 as well as the Hummer H3", said director Ahmed Khan.

In fact Ahmed couldn't even believe his eyes when he saw these machines of splendor. "I got seven Hummers in one song. I told my producer that I require it and he told me 'ask for it and it shall be'. I thought he was joking but when I reached Dubai all those Black beauties were in front of me. My eyes popped out and they went a foot away from my face."

Bond comes to Town.

Vivek Oberoi is rearing to go in the world's costliest car Aston Martin DBS. He was the first Indian actor to shoot with the car after Daniel Craig of the James bond film Casino Royale. The car was used for a song sequence in Dubai. Ahmed Khan and Feroz Nadiadwala had specially called for this car from New York for the shoot. This crimson red beauty will definitely be something to look out for.

According to Ahmed, the hiring cost for the car is about $178,400 and this royal car was hired for a week. Viveik will be seen driving various costly cars in the film including the Hummers. Seems like Viveik is getting all the goodies in this outing.

Bi-Syked out

From authoritative 4-wheelers we move down to something less powerful but definitely more entertaining.

If you saw Shahid in a flying car in Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi, this time you will be astonished to see him as his hi-flying antics will be on a different level altogether. Shahid has been trained to perform stunts on not a horsepower packed motorbike or a rocket fuel powered sedan but a BMX bike.

"You should check out his speed. He is even faster than the cars," exclaims director Ahmed Khan

Trained under the watchful eyes of master action director Allan Amin, it seemed like a grueling task for Shahid. "Shahid Kapoor has spent three months learning to do stunts on a BMX bike. You have to see him do his stunts. He has done a wheelie and a tail whip", Khan goes on to add.

But above that he also jumped from a 16-storey building with his BMX. Now that's some hi-flying.

Firoz Nadiadwala's 'Fool N Final' is inspired from Guy Ritchie's Snatch. Director Ahmed Khan adds he was also inspired by Transporter and U-Turn

By IndiaFM News Bureau, May 7, 2007 - 10:43 IST

Phir Hera Pheri directed by Neeraj Vora was a huge success last year but not many are aware that the film wasn't an original script. The Firoz Nadiadwala film was inspired from an English film Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels directed by Guy Ritchie. Not only was the basic theme of Phir Hera Pheri derived from Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels but the last scene of Phir Hera Pheri where the film abruptly ends when the frame freezes with Akshay Kumar hanging from a bridge is a direct rip-off from the English flick.

And seems like Firoz Nadiadwala has a huge fascination for Guy Ritchie films or perhaps his personal DVD collection is stacked with the English director's films. That's because his next multi-starrer film Fool N Final again seeks inspiration from a Guy Ritchie film. This time Firoz has derived from Guy Ritchie's Snatch starring Brad Pitt and Jason Statham which was his immediate release after Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Interestingly Fool N Final too is Nadiadwala's immediate release after Phir Hera Pheri.

Director Ahmed Khan is honest enough to accept the source of his inspiration. "I have been a very big fan of Guy Richie, Oliver Stone and Robert Rodriguez. So when we were writing this film, Snatch was there behind our minds. However I won't say it's a copy. In fact why just Snatch, I would say I am even inspired by Transporter and U-Turn. But it's just an inspired idea".

Fool N Final is written by Neeraj Vora who had written-directed Phir Hera Pheri. In fact the script was started by none other than Anurag Kashyap. "The first draft was written by Anurag and then I needed to commercialize the film with some comic fill. So we roped in Neeraj. But it was Abbas Hirapurwala and Umesh Shukla who finally completed the screenplay. They spiked the ideas of dialogues and gags and that's how the film was made", explains Ahmed about the writers of this madcap comedy.

So Fool N Final is a multi-starrer not only in terms of its cast but also in terms of its screenwriters. One wonders why the film needed so many writers. "This film deals with a multiple track storyline. It has three screenplays running simultaneously at the same time but they are not individual or different from each other. They are all weaved into one story", explains the director.

But Ahmed Khan goes a step ahead in deriving from the original source. Even the tagline for his film is directly lifted from Snatch which reads as 'Stealin' Stones and Breakin' Bones. The film is about a big diamond robbery. A diamond is robbed from India which is transit to London but via Dubai. Ahmed Khan justifies even this. "I loved that tagline and so did Firoz. So instead of using a tagline like Fool N Final – 'the game begins' or 'the game ends' or some crap like that we thought we'd rather put on what we like. There's no harm in showing people what we like".

So what next Firoz? Going by the chronology of your inspirations from Guy Ritchie films, could we next expect a remake of the Madonna starrer 'Swept Away'? Only this time the original was a big disaster when it released in 2002.

Firoz Nadiadwala has approached world famous boxer Mike Tyson to feature in a promotional video for his film Fool N Final

By IndiaFM News Bureau, April 11, 2007 - 10:35 IST

Here's bringing you the biggest scoop only on IndiaFM.

Firoz Nadiadwala is known for his lavish action flicks and the kind of money he spends to give them his best shot. He is doing the same this time around. His next film Fool N Final having a mammoth cast of Sunny Deol, Shahid Kapoor, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Vivek Oberoi, Bipasha Basu, Arbaaz Khan, Ayesha Takia and Sameera Reddy is completed. And like every other film, Firoz has planned to shoot a promotional video for the film.

So what's new about that, you ask? Well the celebrity who he is getting to feature in the promotional song. According to our sources, Firoz Nadiadwala has approached world famous boxer Mike Tyson to appear in the promotional track to be shot for Fool N Final. Doesn't the choice sound surprising? While other filmmakers are roping in international singing sensations to feature in their video, how does a boxer arise on Nadiadwala's list? That is perhaps because the film has to do a lot with action.

And has Tyson agreed? "Well almost", says the source. "He is just to sign the dotted line. His managers are working out details for Firoz Nadiadwala. In fact Mike Tyson has even given a clearance of coming down to India on April 20 to participate for the shoot. Ahmed Khan who has directed the film will be choreographing the promotional track", adds the source. In fact there is buzz that Mike Tyson might even release the music of the film composed by Himesh Reshammiya.

Fool N Final set on fire

By IndiaFM News Bureau, February 9, 2007 - 06:14 IST

The set of Ahmed Khan's Fool N Final is in ashes due to an alleged fire which burned down the entire set. The set was built for Shahid Kapoor's song sequences in Filmistan. Says the film director Ahmed Khan, "The set caught fire yesterday in the morning and it must have been caused by a short circuit." Equipment worth Rs70 lakhs has been completely destroyed because of the fire.

This is not the first time that this film's set has caught fire. Earlier in January last year while shooting in Film City with Sunny Deol and Shahid Kapoor, the entire helipad had caught fire.

Fool N Final will be Ahmed Khan's second directorial venture. The film has a huge starcast which includes Sunny Deol, Shahid Kapoor, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Vivek Oberoi, Bipasha Basu, Arbaaz Khan, Ayesha Takia and Sameera Reddy. The film is produced by Firoz Nadiadwala.

Vivek Oberoi drives James Bond car in Fool and Final

By IndiaFM News Bureau, January 19, 2007 - 10:50 IST

Vivek Oberoi is rearing to go in the world's costliest car Aston Martin DBS. He will be the first Indian actor to shoot with the car after Daniel Craig of the James bond film Casino Royale. The car will be used for a song sequence in Dubai. Director Ahmed Khan and producer Feroz Nadiadwala have specially called for this car from New York for the shoot.

According to Ahmed Khan, the hiring cost for the car is about $178400 and this royal car will be hired for a week. The song used for the sequence will have a hard rock effect. Vivek plays a guy, who fixes boxing matches in the film. He will be seen driving various costly cars in the film. The interesting thing about the song according to Ahmed Khan is that Vivek will have the James Bond look

Ahmed further adds that the song has been sung by Himesh Reshammiya and Ahmed himself will choreograph the song.

Fool and Final will have the costliest film promo to be made till date in Bollywood with the expenditure of 40 lakhs

By IndiaFM News Bureau, September 13, 2006 - 07:36 IST

After making Lakeer Ahmed Khan sits on the director's seat again but this time, he is back with a comedy. Talking about his upcoming film Fool and Final, Ahmed says, "The film is comedy, which is clear from the title. It is about a group of people to finish something but do it foolishly. There are three parallel stories running through the film. There is also a one funny part that shows Indian Dons in Dubai and the manner in which they talk. The different accents in which people from different parts of India speak is also funnily shown."

Interestingly, the entire promotion of the film is done like a comic book. Says Ahmed Khan "Everything starting from the posters, the hoardings, the brochures, the promos etc. will be designed like comic books. In fact, the theatrical promo of the film will be the costliest film promo to be made till date in Bollywood with the expenditure of 40 lakhs."

The film is going to be presented in a very innovative style. "This is the first time that something like this will be done in India" says Ahmed excitedly. "When the audiences see the film, they will get the feeling as if they are reading a comic book. Even when the film begins, it seems like you are reading a comic book. The editing is also done in a unique manner, as if you are turning to next page after the scene." It is an interesting way of presenting a comic film. But that's not all. "The background score is also funny with sounds like "Yahuu!" being added in the film. Also, the thought bubbles appear above the characters head at times, with text in them, just like in comic books."

Besides, all these innovative ideas, what seemed extremely hatke to us were the names of some of the characters in this film. In this film, Arbaaz Khan is called Moscow Chikna, Paresh Rawal is Chatur Chaubhey, Jackie Shoff is Gunmaster-G9, Johny Lever is Pattu Pilate and Vijay Raaz is Abdul Tikki.

Looking at the starcast and the innovative ideas that are packed in this film, Fool and Final which is releasing in January next year is definitely a film to look forward to.

After 'Fool And Final', It's 'Ever Ready'

By Taran Adarsh, July 4, 2006 - 09:30 IST

Choreographer turned director Ahmed Khan is making films at jet speed. A few months ago, he started filming FOOL AND FINAL [Sunny, Vivek, Shahid] and before you enquire about the progress of the film, Ahmed springs a surprise by confirming its release date [January 26, 2007].

"Since we have almost completed the film, we can bring its release date closer. But Firozbhai [Nadiadwala] wants to concentrate on post-production and promotion of the film. He feels, we shouldn't hurry up on the release," Ahmed tells me.

What's next on the agenda? "EVER READY," he shoots back, "It's a multi-starrer again. We plan to cast four top actors in principal roles." FOOL AND FINAL producer Firoz Nadiadwala will produce EVER READY as well.

'Fool & Final'

By Taran Adarsh, October 26, 2005 - 23:22 IST

Topnotch choreographer Ahmed Khan's directorial debut LAKEER may have missed the target at the box-office, but the child artist turned choreographer turned director is all geared up to start his second film.

Titled FOOL & FINAL, the film will be produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwala and star Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty and Shahid Kapoor in the lead. While Bipasha Basu has been teamed opposite Sunny, a leading lady opposite Shahid and one more lead man are currently under finalization.

FOOL & FINAL also has an impressive supporting cast, which includes Jackie Shroff, Javed Jaffrey, Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz and Razzaq Khan.

When you hear a title like FOOL & FINAL, you assume that it's a laugh riot on the lines of David Dhawan and Anees Bazmee entertainers. "FOOL & FINAL is on the lines of M.I. 2 and SNATCH, while the humor is of the DIL CHAHTA HAI and ANDAZ APNA APNA variety. I enjoy David and Anees' films, but I cannot think like them when it comes to humor," Ahmed informs me.

To be shot in Dubai and Brazil, FOOL & FINAL will take off on January 15, 2006 with the picturization of the climax first. "I want to ensure that I have a mind-blowing climax when the enthusiasm levels of the stars and technical team are very much high," he jokes, but gets serious soon thereafter, "I don't want to go wrong this time. The start, the middle and the end should be equally spell-binding." Ahmed hopes to wrap up the shooting by June 2006.

While ace composers Vishal-Shekhar are likely to compose the music [six songs], action expert Allan Amin and A-list writers Neeraj Vora [associated with Priyadarshan] and Anurag Kashyap [associated with Mani Ratnam] have been confirmed for the project in question.

What took Ahmed so long to start his next directorial venture, after LAKEER? "Three factors! One, I had six assignments to honor as a choreographer [SALAAM | NAMASTE, MILENGE MILENGE, VAAH! LIFE HO TOH AISI, Anil Sharma's film with the Deols and Subhash Ghai's two films]. Two, I didn't want to hurry up on the script till it was complete. Three, procuring bulk dates from an extremely busy cast takes time. Now that everything has fallen into place, I am ready to go ahead with it," he tells me.

So, what's the USP of FOOL & FINAL? "It'll have great music and terrific stunts. With Shahid, Vishal-Shekhar and Ahmed Khan in a film, expect a spell-binding musical score and great choreography. And with Sunny, Allan Amin and producer Firoz A. Nadiadwala [known for stylish action fares] teaming up for the first time, expect pulse-pounding action sequences as well," Ahmed retorts.

Meanwhile, Ahmed has bagged yet another prestigious assignment [as a director], besides FOOL & FINAL. He has been signed by none other than Subhash Ghai to direct a film for Mukta Arts Ltd. Way to go!

"I think Aamir Khan is fabulous" - Ayesha Takia

By Faridoon Shahryar, May 29, 2007 - 13:06 IST

"I think Aamir Khan is fabulous," says Ayesha Takia who surprised everyone by opting out of Aamir Khan's next Kajri, a remake of Tamil hit Ghajini. "Ghajini is a film that I am not doing so I shouldn't talk about it. But it's a fab film and whoever does it will rock. Honestly," Takia said brandishing that famous school girl laughter that stretches into her eyes.

Alright, let's talk about your with-the-times look in Fool-N-Final where you are indulging in pocket dancing, sporting bandanas and trendy outfits. "Yeah, from all my films I like this the most. This suits me the most. My audiences have loved it. I love it when people like what you've done. It's very important that the work that I do is appreciated. Dor was a small film but people loved it. People loved Socha Na Tha. It's very important that whatever I do is different and people like it," Ayesha said.

Obviously she loves to talk and answer questions that one hasn't asked. Never mind. You've just spoken about Dor, a film that you've won loads of appreciation. "Dor is a superior film for acting because I don't think a girl gets a chance to do a role like that often. Since Fool N Final is your next release, how about some words on its director Ahmed Khan? "I'm very fortunate. Fool N Final is a very good film for someone to come on the sets and enjoy themselves. Ahmed is a friend so I would anyday work with him. For me it was a pleasure working with him."

What's your role in the film? "I play a girl called Tina who is a thief. Hum sab chor hain film mein. And I'm always with my mama Paresh Rawal. And then Shahid is there and we share this romantic connection. But the thing is that because of mama we can not really get romantic. He always tells Shahid that if you want to romance my Bhaanji then you have to do this robbery for me. He keeps on threatening him, blackmailing him and it's really really funny," Ayesha explains. In other words it's a full on Feroze Nadiadwala commercial flick. "It's a Feroze Nadiadwala commercial film. And hopefully it will do as well as his commercial films have done. It has constantly been a ride. I loved being one of the guys," she says.

What about matching steps with your co-star Shahid Kapoor with whom this is your second film after Yeh Dil Maange More? Here it ought to be said that you guys make a very cute pair. "Dance steps in Fool N Final are very different from Yeh Dil Maange More. In Yeh Dil….Vaibhavi was the choreographer. She is very different. And in Fool N Final obviously since it's Ahmed's film, he has done the choreography too. He is such a successful choreographer but he never said that now we have three great songs and elaborate dance movements. He just let us have fun and that's what really showed. And I respect him for that," Takia said.

Well…Kya Love Story Hai is a bad memory and Fool N Final seems to be heading for a good show. But what about the future? There is Anurag Kashyap's No Smoking. He is fabulous. For most parts it's a John Abraham film. For me it's interesting as it is a double role. Anurag has been a friend for six years. We always wanted to work together. Then there's Sunday for which I'm shooting for in Delhi with Ajay Devgan. That is a Rohit Shetty film. It's a thriller and a masala film. There's also De Taali. It's a film with Ritesh and me. It's about friendship, love and it's very simple, sweet friends story."

Since we had got most of the dope you guys must be interested in, we took a chance and asked about her no-kiss policy because of which she has opted out of prestigious projects. "I don't do things that I don't like in life. Ever," Ayesha Takia said sportingly, letting us feast on that full-of-life laughter that effortlessly enters the eyes. Once again!

"No heroine would have worn what Ayesha Takia has worn in Fool N Final" - Ahmed Khan

By IndiaFM News Bureau, May 29, 2007 - 09:01 IST

Choreographer-filmmaker Ahmed Khan is ready with his second film Fool N Final and this time he sounds much excited and confident about his product. In a no-holds-barred exclusive conversation with IndiaFM, Ahmed talks about everything that one would want to know of him from his multi-starrer film, his innovative comic book characters, Hollywood inspirations, choreographing techniques, Mike Tyson, football fascination, to his memories as a child actor in films like Mr. India and Raakh.

This interview doesn't seem to end but at the same time your interest for reading it won't end either.

Finally Fool N Final is releasing. And it is looking real big. Huge star-cast and a massive setup
This is the first time I have gotten Sunny Deol and Shahid Kapoor to work together. Viveik Oberoi is in a very different role in this film. We have a huge star-cast comprising of Om Puri, Sharmila Tagore, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Arbaaz Khan, Chunkey Pandey, etc. and all of them have big roles in the film. So it was difficult managing so many people at one time. But I would like to thank my producer Mr. Firoz Nadiadwala who supported me all the way.

This film deals with a multiple track. It has three screenplays running simultaneously in Fool N Final but they are not individual or different from each other. They are all weaved into one story.

Sunny Deol plays a Punjabi who stays in Dubai in an Indian colony. In many places over the world, Indians migrate and create a place of their own. Sunny stays there with his brother Om Puri and sister-in-law Sharmila Tagore. He is a very local but tough guy. He is like a real life hulk. The only thing missing is the animation.

Is his name Hulk in the film?
No, his name is Munna in the film.

A complete irony to his character!
Yes it is. Whenever Om, Sharmila or Vijay Raaz are in trouble, they shout out 'Munnaaaaa'. And we wonder which kid are they calling. And then lands this huge overgrown kid. When he makes an entry the whole world shatters and there is trembling sound and he starts whacking people. It is a very funny role that he is doing.

Fool N Final has three screenplays running simultaneously but they are not individual or different from each other.
Sunny is always associated with the tough guy image. Have you done anything different this time or does he still end up bashing 25 people at one go?
It's more hilarious. When he makes an entry the sound in the background plays as 'Munna Munna le sabki tuna.' So you think you are watching an international music video with Hulk in that. You will love him in this film. He cracks jaws, break bones, breaks cars, et all but in a comic manner.

Shahid Kapoor is completely dressed up like Eminem, wearing pants with the waist of 36-38.
Then there is Shahid Kapoor who plays a very very very different role. He recently starred in the blockbuster Vivah where he played Prem. But here he will be seen in a very different manner. His name is Raja and again the irony comes in that he is a pauper. If you have seen the first song, he is presented in a very teen manner. He is completely dressed up like Eminem, wearing pants with the waist of 36-38. He is a small time thief but he robs on a BMX bike. All the top mafias of Dubai are after him. His partner is Paresh Rawal whose screen name is Choubey who happens to be the uncle of his love Ayesha Takia. So they are the awesome threesome. Paresh however always gets them stuck and Shahid rescues everybody. At the same time he also plays Sunny's nephew as he is Sharmila and Om Puri's son. But he runs away from the house and they have to get him back. He is a character who always shows that he is in the family but always wants to go away from it. He goes gaga over Ayesha and does everything for her. Paresh Rawal says that if he wants Ayesha to be in his life, he will have to rob. So these are two separate tracks but they join together as one family.

Then comes Viveik Oberoi. His name is Lucky and once again there is an irony in his name. He believes that when money talks, bull shit walks. The problem is that he doesn't have money. He wants people to fight in an illegal ring and he keeps on losing money. He runs a small game parlour. Sunny bashes up one of his fighters who was supposed to win a fight and get all his money back. Now he goes behind Sunny to do a fight for him and Sunny gives him requirements to build his basti. And then he lives up to his commitment. At the same time Sunny wants Shahid to stop committing robberies. But Shahid is involved in a big diamond robbery. A diamond is robbed from India which is transit to London but via Dubai. There the diamond comes to Arbaaz Khan whose name is Moscow Chikna and Jackie Shroff who is Gunmaster G9.

Gunmaster G9 was a Mithun Chakravarthy film.
Yes, Jackie's character is still living in that era and not in 2007. And Arbaaz believes he is from Russia, hence Moscow Chikna even though he has never been to Russia.

Chunkey Pandey is the one who is being hunted because he is the one who stole the diamond. He reaches Dubai and there you find everybody behind this diamond.

There is Jonny Lever who is called Pattu Pilot. He believes he is the fastest car driver in Dubai so he calls himself that. He ends up crashing his car everywhere.

Then there is Sameera Reddy who is a girl who has come to Dubai from India in search of work but apparently her agent Zakir Hussain wanted her to get into the wrong kind of business. She runs away from him and he and his men are hunting for her. She is found by Sharmila Tagore and she refuges her. Her house is guarded by Munna and so the bad guys cannot enter the place. .

So we have a Malayalee, Bihari, Gujrati, Sindhi, etc. And all of them racking their brains, fight for a diamond which eventually reaches into the hands of Shahid Kapoor.

The whole film is a different kind of story. I have treated it like a comic book like my promos suggest. It's like you come to read a comic book and leave your brains at home. It's a very commercial, up-tempo and a funny film to watch. The length is also perfect. You finish two buckets of popcorn and the film is over.

The length of Fool N Final is perfect. You finish two buckets of popcorn and the film is over.
Neeraj Vora and Anurag Kashyap coming together for the script. Quite an odd combination, don't you think?
Anurag started the film and then Neeraj covered over it. Then I had Abbas and Umesh who did the film. The first draft was written by Anurag and then I needed to commercialize the film with comic fill. So we roped in Neeraj and finally it was completed by Abbas Herapurwala and Umesh Shukla. They spiked the ideas of dialogues and gags and that's how the film was made.

Firoz Nadiadwala is known for his action comedies. Does Fool N Final follow suit?
If you see the film you will see that it has action and comedy along with a touch of emotions to a level.

I got seven Hummers in one song.
Vivek Oberoi drives a swanky Aston Martin in the film which has been making quite a bit of news.
He does and in one series there are these whole series of Hummers. There is the H1 Alpha Hummer. I got seven Hummers in one song. I told my producer that I require it and he told me 'ask for it and it shall be'. I thought he was joking but when I reached Dubai all those Black beauties were in front of me. My eyes popped out and they went a foot away from my face.

Ok, is Fool N Final inspired from Guy Richie's Snatch?
I have been a very big fan of Guy Richie, Oliver Stone and Robert Rodriguez. So when we were writing this film Snatch was there behind our minds. I won't say it's a copy but I'm very inspired by Snatch, Transporter and U-Turn. It's just an inspired idea.

Fool N Final is very inspired by Snatch, Transporter and U-Turn.
The tagline of the film is also the same as that of Snatch.
Yea. 'Stealing Stones and Breaking bones'. I loved that tagline and so did Firoz. So instead of putting Full 'n' Final - the game begins or game ends or some crap like that I'd rather put on what we like. There's no harm in showing people what we like.

Have you choreographed all the songs of this film? You being a choreographer yourself, do the songs have something special to say?
Yes, I did all my songs. Since this is my film I have recorded the songs the way I wanted to. I made the singers sing the way I wanted to. I wanted to treat Shahid like Shahid. He is my childhood friend and we have grown up together. We used to stay in the same building and our parents are friends. I had choreographed his first film Ishk Vishq. He looks different from what we normally see of him. Even the same goes for Ayesha. No heroine would have worn what she has worn.

No heroine would have worn what Ayesha Takia has worn in Fool N Final.
Whose idea was it to have Mike Tyson for a promotional video? Who approached him? Would you like to speak anything about that?
This was an idea given to us by Mushtaq Nadiadwala, Firoz's younger brother. We asked him how he came up with such an idea and he said that he has been a fan of only two people. One is Mohammed Ali and the next is Mike Tyson. I thought it's a nice idea but how do we talk to him? My producer is quite influential and quite savvy about international artists making an appearance in his films. And in one week I heard that Firoz has spoken to his lawyers and things have been worked out. As a director I was overjoyed and knew that was incredible.

One cannot imagine Mike Tyson and dance in the same frame.
The combination is weird. I'm not too sure on what I'm going to do with him although we are shooting for a music video. I have yet to be clear on what I am going to do with him. Am I going to make him dance? There was an article I read recently on a newspaper which asked various choreographers whether they would want to choreograph Tyson. Most of them were quite reluctant because you are dealing with 'Iron' Mike Tyson, former heavyweight World Champion. He is a big guy. Its not that I can easily tell him to turn left or right and he'll do it easily.

So are you nervous?
No, not exactly. He is a tough guy to deal with and I am tough too.

Is music important for an action-comedy like this?
Himesh Reshammiya has composed for the film. Apparently Himesh left about 18-20 films so that he could do this film. He called me up personally showing his interest in the film. I told him that it is a compliment but I would love it if you paid full attention to it. Because my film and his kind of music sound different. I cannot say that music plays an important part but a very lightening part in my film. I know that for a fact mainly because I am a choreographer.

Sunny Deol is like a real life hulk. The only thing missing is the animation.
So do you think he has composed better than A.R. Rahman who composed for your first film Lakeer?
I would not comment on that because I am a fan of Rahman. We cannot compare both of them. I would have had a Rahman for this film too but it didn't require an A.R. Rahman. It requires a Himesh and his kind of music. So I won't be wasting his compositions in this film.

Did the failure of your first film, disappoint you?
Any failure disappoints anyone. You learn from failures and you learn from success.

So did you have a different approach in this outing?
I did feel that I need a change and I would not have a Sunny Deol in my film. But I knew Sunny was the right person to work with again. The role completely demanded it. Then we got Shahid and Paresh and the fun loving gang. Post Lakeer, when I checked my mail all my fans said they expected something visually appealing and young and energetic and somehow they didn't get that. Now that the promo of Fool N Final is out, I have got very positive reviews for it. They said that this was expected from my first film. You learn from people, you don't learn from yourself.

Sunny Deol is not exactly known for his dancing histrionics. Does he have any dances in the film?
Yes he does. In fact he has danced with Shahid and Viveik. Shahid was a bit help for me on the sets. Sunny used to be shy on the sets like a kid so then Shahid encouraged him. Simultaneously, I had action scenes where Shahid and Sunny were fighting together. That's where Sunny helped Shahid. He explained to Shahid on how he should take a blow and how to hit other people. There is a lot of respect because Shahid respects Deol as a senior and Sunny respects Shahid because he is much junior to him. So for me it was easy. If you have two artists who cannot dance then it's difficult but when one can dance while the other cannot then it gets easier. There is a nice Punjabi up-tempo song which is going to rule the discos for sure. Shahid, Viveik and Sunny are dancing to it.

If you have two artists who cannot dance then it's difficult but when one can dance while the other cannot then it gets easier.
You have also choreographed for Anil Sharma's Apne. So how many of the Deols did you make dance to your tunes?
All three of them together (smiles). I was the first human in India who has encountered this visual. God has given me the pleasure to make three Deols dance in one frame. Right from Dharamji to Sunny to Bobby. I was handling three eras. It was not that I was dealing with one artist of one generation and then the next and then next but they were a family. A father with his two sons who are very close knitted. They have so much respect for each other.

It was a bit difficult because Dharamji used to dance and feel shy. Sunny used to come to him and tell him to do it only if he was comfortable. He would then say he can do it. Then Bobby would come to me and say that he would not jump so much in front of papa. So I was facing all these problems on the sets. But Anil Sharma was a big support. He knows the family very well. He kept telling Dharamji 'aapko toh karna hi padega'. At the end of the day they all had fun.

I made Sunny and Bobby dance like Dharamji. Both of them would imitate him and he would get angry and shout 'shut up, you are copying me' and then the whole song would stop. Then he would take off and dance to the song Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana. If you recall, Dharamji created a step where he would dance with one hand up and one hand down. So the other two also do that. Dharamji is the original man who created that movement and this time he is doing it with his sons. It's going to be hilarious.

Firoz Nadiadwala had announced a film Deewane Huye Paagal with you way back in 2004 along with Phir Hera Pheri. The film later got shelved and Vikram Bhatt directed a film with the same title for Firoz. Is Fool N Final the film you were going to direct?
No, it was a different film. The cast comprised of Anil Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Nana Patekar. It was a different cast and story. After the failure of Lakeer, I didn't want to just jump into another film straightaway. It was nice of Firoz because he gave me the liberty and the opportunity to think twice. We announced the film, had a mahurat but I was not sure of the film. So I told him that and he told me take a year off if I wanted to figure things out. So he roped in Vikram Bhatt and they made another film as they had the dates.

So there weren't any issues between you and Firoz?
The issue happened because of unwanted things. If you see, after the mahurat of a film if you say you don't want to do the film then it gets a little edgy. One starts thinking and it gets a bit difficult. Our fault was that we didn't finalize the script and straightaway did the mahurat. As a director I had to be comfortable with the script. So he told me not to push myself. He told me that he has a script and Shahid Kapoor and Akshay Kumar have agreed to that, so he could go ahead. If we had problems then we wouldn't be doing this final now, would we? Why would he immediately make a film with me after that? I also choreographed all the songs for his Phir Hera Pheri. Firoz is quite used to having so many people in his films. But in this film he has reached the maximum. We have 19 artists in the film including Sharmilaji. She is from yesteryears and very conditioned. She treated us like her children.

When I was ready, we had to get dates. Every artist is very busy today. Initially in the first and second schedule everything went fine. It's after that that things usually go haywire.

But despite so many artists we managed to pull it off. It's looking really smart. It's fun and full of action, comedy, a bit of romance, some emotions, good music and the look is really good.

The climax action sequence of Firoz Nadiadwala's films are always lavish. What will be the case in Fool N Final with such a massive cast?
In the last climax action scene, I have procured one fighter from Kung Fu Hustle. He is from the Shaolin. If you see him, you will say that you have seen him somewhere. He fights in the end with Sunny. Then there is this guy called Rubin who acted in Phantom of the Opera. He is from London. Then there is this guy Wilson who is from the Gladiator. He is from the U.S.

So I have put all these three guys together in the end and they have some nice action sequences with Sunny Deol. It's a nice fight on top of the edge of the water. They are gladiators and they fight with Sunny. There is a bare-knuckle fight, very illegal and people are betting on them.

Tell us about Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar.
That film is really close to my heart and I always wanted to make it since the last cricket World Cup. But I never got the opportunity or time for it. I need 11 solid guys to be a part of that film. The film doesn't deal with one or two protagonists but it's a team with a substitute and a coach. So I need space, time and overall a budget to make that film. It's a football team and now I'm hearing that a lot of films are being made on this sport. Right now I am just waiting for the release of Fool N Final and then I am committed to make a film with Firoz again. Then there is one more film. Though I have not been signed for it, Shahid and I have locked down one script. Now I think I will take a gap and choreograph some songs and then get back to filmmaking again.

You had announced a film called Mazhab in 2004. Is Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar the same film?
Mazhab is Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar, we were contemplating between these two titles.

Is film-making more tiring or vice-versa?
Filmmaking is much better because you know what you want and you can do what you want. Being a choreographer is easier because you come on the sets, do your work for five days or so and then leave the sets. But at the same time, the choreographer would wish he could do some things his way as well. As a director I can choreograph my songs as well.

The action is by Allan Amin and he has done a superlative job in it. Shahid Kapoor has spent three months learning to do stunts on a BMX bike. You have to see him do his stunts. He has done a wheelie and a tail whip. An H2 Hummer is chasing Shahid on the streets of Dubai while he in on a BMX. You should check out his speed. He is even faster than the cars. It's really dangerous and hats off to Allan for getting it done and hats off to Shahid for doing it.

He has come down 16 floors from a building from his BMX. Shahid is running away from the bad guys and enters the lift of a building with his BMX. It reaches the top floor. These goons run behind him. From the terrace there is a cloth hanging till the ground. Then he leaps on the ground and rides the bicycle down. He has done it himself and you will see it in the movie. It's a risky stunt and Shahid had got vertigo. He did it for me. I don't think he would have done it for anybody. He woke up in the morning, didn't have his breakfast, just began rehearsing and took the shot at 1:30.

You see Shahid Kapoor the way youngsters want to see him as. The next song will begin soon and you should really see his dance in the next song. It's out of the world.

From being a child artist in Mr. India to turning choreographer, did you always want to direct a film?
When I was a child-artist in Mr. India, I was 11 years old. We used to help out Shekhar Kapoor in menial things. I used to see him directing and I felt that it was a nice job. A director works like a dog - get this, get that, get everyone's dates together, etc. but the moment the film goes on the floor, you are the captain. That struck in my mind. After it's a cut, everyone looks at you, waits for you till you say 'one more take or OK'. I felt this is the position one should be in. whether you are an actor, cameraman or choreographer, the final call is the director's.

It struck me at a young age but then I was interested in dancing. So I assisted Saroj Khan and then came Rangeela when I was 19. Today I'm 32 and have finished my second film.
For my first scene as a choreographer I handled Aamir and Jackie together for Rangeela. I felt so weird telling them cut and do something else.
Did you work as a child artist in any other film other than Mr. India?
I did a film called Raakh starring Aamir Khan. It's was a beautiful film. You can imagine, while doing Mr. India, Jackie Shroff used to come to visit Anil Kapoor because they were good friends. I called him Jackie uncle and he used to make my hair and make us laugh. And imagine today I am directing him. Apart from that, for my first scene as a choreographer I handled Aamir and Jackie together for Rangeela. I felt so weird telling them cut and do something else. It was very nice of them to hear me out and support me when I was 19. I also taught Sunny Deol to dance in Angrakshak along with Saroj Khan. So I used to wait for him in his hotel suite and he would tell me that I'm the new boy. Today it feels really different. Such a senior man and I'm directing him.

Which choreographers do you think are doing good work today?
There are many choreographers today. Ganesh Hegde does a good job at times. Then there is Remo who is quite good. He was my assistant. Then there are Bosco-Caesar. I started out at 19 so I sound very senior now but they are all older than me (laughs). Now that I'm doing many songs and also directing, which gives an image that I'm 45 plus.

I'm doing so many songs and also directing, which gives an image that I'm 45 plus.
Who do you think is the best dancer in Bollywood?
With all my heart, I think it is Shahid Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. You also have to watch out for this new boy Harman Baweja. He is also my childhood friend and will make his debut soon. All my childhood friends are becoming heroes. I couldn't do his entire film because I was busy with my own film. I taught Harman dancing when he was 9 years old. You should watch him dance. He is too good.

And the worst? Be honest.
You want me to get beaten up. If I say Sunny Deol, he is not a dancer so I cannot call him a bad dancer. So if there is a song to do then somehow he has to manage it. So we can't call him a bad dancer because he is trying to act it out as it is a part of the film. He is not the best dancer but the way he presents himself in his songs you have to see that he has the biggest hits.

Shah Rukh is not a brilliant dancer but when he comes in front of the camera and when the song is played he exudes energy. I have done Yes Boss, Pardes, etc. with him and so whenever I have to put him in front of my camera, with his charisma and agility in his body, I have to forget about the dance and work on his expressions. In those terms he is the best dancer.

Then there is Govinda. He only used to do small steps like moving his shoulders or moving his neck.

I can say that once upon a time there were no dancers. That was the time of Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor. That was the decade where there were no dancing heroes. There were more action heroes than family men. Then the era changed when Aamir Khan came in. He got the college style. After that the era completely changed when Hrithik came in. It's getting better and better.

Now that a sequel to Mr. India is being planned, wouldn't it be interesting to have you and Aftab in the outing as grown ups?
I told Shekhar Kapoor that he will have to make Mr. Indias now because all the kids have grown big. Even Aftab and Karan Nath were in the movie and we all are adults now. To that he said a very nice thing - 'Ahmed, even though you have grown I'm still the same'.

"In Fool N Final I talk with a lisp, something on the lines of Pooja Bhatt" - Chunky Pandey

By Joginder Tuteja, May 15, 2007 - 08:53 IST

There was a time when all an actor was interested in playing was either a leading man or a main villain. With newer ideas being shared in the kind of films that are being made today, it is no less exciting for many to be playing an interesting 'character'.

Chunky Pandey is one of them who has discovered this fact and the result is films like D, Apna Sapna Money Money and I See You, each of which has seen him gaining appreciation for his work. And now he promises to carry on this good work with the soon-to-be-released Fool N Final.

Fool N Final - an exciting title for a film. So what is this about?
It is about this diamond that has just been robbed by me. This diamond is bigger than even 'Kohinoor' and I play this man called Rocky who has a fetish for guns and gambling. The entire story revolves around this diamond but there are many mad bunch of characters that make Fool N Final and enthralling ride. That's anyways the least you can expect when a film has actors like Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever (laughs)!

But how about you?
Besides the fact that I am the culprit behind stealing of this diamond, I also have a certain mannerism and the way I look that adds on to the spice. I talk with a lisp, something on the lines of Pooja Bhatt (smiles), while my hair is all gelled with golden teeth to add that give me a particular look. My character is required to move in and out of the narrative though I am there throughout.

You have been around for around for two decades now while Shahid, your co-star in FNF is quite young. Does that make you remember the times when you had just started off?
Yes, it does remind me of those days and also makes me realize that once our film was a success, we used to be working in like 10 films a year. We were slogging ourselves while believing all of it to be fun. But look at someone like Shahid or any other talented newcomer. These boys are so mature about what they want.

Shahid and other newcomers are so mature about what they want
Mature in what sense?
They are much surer about the commercial aspects of a film. They have grown up fast and are much better planned. They are selective about their work and pick up limited but good projects.

After Apna Sapna Money Money and Fool N Final, are comedies the kind of films with which you plan to associate yourself most with?
Neither I am averse to such films nor am I restricting myself to be playing only such roles. There have been lots of offers for comedy films but it is on me to decide where and how do I see myself fitting in. In fact, I am not even shying away from approaching big film makers myself with whom I wish to be working in near future.

I am not shying away from approaching big filmmakers myself with whom I wish to be working in near future.
Like?
Like Abbas-Mustan. I like the kind of cinema they make. Priyadarshan is another film maker I look forward to working with. With David Dhawan I am in talks and we could be working together again soon. There is something on the cards with Anubhav Sinha too and right now the things are in negotiation stage. So you can see that I am looking forward to some rocking times ahead. Meanwhile there is always a 'Rocky' [my film show on TV] to keep me busy [laughs]!

Have you ever thought of doing a film which is not really mainstream but is of the kind that would make filmmakers stand up and take you even more seriously?
Yes, I have. In fact, it is required for me to do this since it is all about gaining eyeballs and be noticed. A film like Ishaan does come into that category. I star alongside Shreyas Talpade in this film which is directed by Anthony D'souza.

What's the film's plot?
I play a father to this boy who has a brain of a 10 year old but has physically grown up too fast. Shreyas is the one who plays this boy. I am required to be his father, mother, brother - just about everyone since my wife is no more.

Doesn't your on-screen wife appear in the film at all?
She does but an actress for that is still to be finalized. Anyways, to match someone like me, I am sure she would have to be someone beautiful [laughs]!

Playing a father is something that you do for the first time in your career. Right?
I have played a father just once before which was in Ghar Ki Chiraag but there too the child belonged to my wife Neelam and Rajesh Khanna. Thank goodness, this time around the child is of my own [laughs]!
Ahmed Khan's 'Fool N Final' has a Superman, Spiderman, Batman and Wondergirl in its cast. Also Sunny Deol is symbolic to Hulk in the film
By IndiaFM News Bureau, May 3, 2007 - 03:39 IST

While the third part of the Hollywood blockbuster Spiderman releases this week across the world, Bollywood has to offer us its very own desi Spiderman along with some other world famous superheroes in Firoz Nadiadwala's multi-starrer Fool N Final. So it's not just international boxing champion Mike Tyson who is keeping the film in news. There is much more to it.

The film directed by Ahmed Khan has not one or two but four characters dressed as superheroes in one of its funny sequences. So you will see Johny Lever dressed as 'Spiderman', Paresh Rawal as 'Batman', Shahid Kapoor as 'Supeman' and Ayesha Takia as 'Wondergirl' in the film.

Explains the director, "The scene required the actors to disguise themselves so that they could retrieve diamonds from Arbaaz Khan's character called Moscow Chikna. So I thought why not disguise them as superheroes. So you will see Shahid Kapoor playing a Superman, Ayesha as Wondergirl, Paresh as Batman and Johny Lever as Spiderman in that particular sequence."

Ask him about the chemistry of the characters and Ahmed elaborates, "Shahid Kapoor plays a very very very different role. He recently starred in the blockbuster Vivah where he played Prem. But here he will be seen in a very different character. His name is Raja and the irony is that he is a pauper. If you have seen the first song, he is presented in a very teen manner. He is completely dressed up like Eminem, wearing pants with the waist of 36-38. He is a small time thief but he robs on a BMX bike. All the top mafias of Dubai are after him.

And Shahid is madly in love with Ayesha and does everything for her. Paresh Rawal who happens to be the uncle of Ayesha Takia, has this condition for Shahid that if he wants Ayesha to be in his life, he will have to rob. So together they form an awesome threesome. Paresh, however, always gets them stuck in situations and Shahid rescues everybody.

Johny Lever is called Pattu Pilot in the film. He believes he is the fastest car driver in Dubai so he calls himself that. He ends up crashing his car everywhere".

Ask Ahmed on his superhero fascination and he reveals, "I have treated the entire film like a comic book, like my promos suggest. It's like you come to read a comic book and leave your brains at home. It's a very commercial, up-tempo and a funny film to watch."

So apart from these four characters, are there any other actors playing superhero in the film considering the film is a multi-starrer? "Well not really", replies Ahmed "But Sunny Deol will be seen portraying the character of Hulk who is supposed to be the strongest amongst all. Sunny plays a Punjabi who stays in Dubai in an Indian colony with his brother Om Puri and sister-in-law Sharmila Tagore. In many places over the world, Indians migrate and create a place of their own. Sunny plays a very local but tough guy. He is like a real life hulk. The only thing missing is the animation".
Shahid Kapoor jumps off from the 16th floor of a building on his BMX bike for an action sequence in Fool N Final. He has done a wheelie and a tail whip too
By Praveen Lance Fernandes, April 21, 2007 - 02:55 IST

Shahid Kapoor exudes a very lover-boy image with all his romantic roles. Right from the young and confused in-love Rajiv Mathur in Ishk Vishq to the shy and engaged Prem in Vivah his cute looks have won him a chocolate hero image. But all this seems to change with Firoz Nadiadwala's Fool N Final. He promises a lot of action - and in literal sense.

So if you saw him in a flying car in Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi, this time you will be astonished to see that his hi-flying antics has reached a different level altogether. Shahid for his upcoming film Fool N Final has been trained to perform stunts on a BMX bike. "Shahid plays a small time thief but he robs on a BMX bike. All the top mafias of Dubai are after him. In an action sequence an H2 Hummer is chasing Shahid on the streets of Dubai while he in on a BMX bike. You should check out his speed. He is even faster than the cars," exclaims director Ahmed Khan.

Trained under the watchful eyes of master action director Allan Amin, it seemed like a grueling task for Shahid. "Shahid Kapoor has spent three months learning to do stunts on a BMX bike. You have to see him do his stunts. He has done a wheelie and a tail whip. It's really dangerous and hats off to Allan for getting it done and hats off to Shahid for doing it", Khan's praise for Shahid continues.

But the highlight of his stunts should definitely be the one in which he jumps off the 16th floor of a building on his BMX bike. "Shahid is running away from the bad guys and enters the lift of a building with his BMX. It reaches the top floor and these goons run behind him. Now they think he is trapped as he has nowhere to go. But from the terrace there is a cloth hanging till the ground. Then he leaps on the ground and rides the bicycle all the way down", Ahmed Khan explains the entire action sequence.

Shahid really put in a lot of effort and concentration to get the stunt to be perfect. "He woke up in the morning, didn't have his breakfast, just began rehearsing and took the shot at 1:30pm." Now that's called perfection. He is completely dressed up like Eminem in Fool N Final, wearing pants with the waist of 36-38.

Not many know that Ahmed and Shahid's association didn't begin with Fool N Final. Ahmed divulges, "He did it for me. He is my childhood friend and we have grown up together. We used to stay in the same building and our parents are friends. I had choreographed his first film Ishk Vishq. He looks different from what we normally see of him."

So post the powerful bikes in Dhoom, we come across something new and fresh. Let's wait and watch to see what heights Shahid will actually scale - literally.
It's not just Mike Tyson in 'Fool N Final...

Two left feet? Our man has the cure to it! Bosco of the Bosco Caesar fame is undoubtedly one of the country's finest choreographers ever. Involved with shows such as MTV Asia Awards, Filmfare Awards, The Big V Concert and movies including Bluffmaster, Kuch Naa Kaho, Family, Lakshya, Ek Ajnabee, Holiday, Dus, Mission Kashmir, Bosco is the guy the industry swears by.

Nominated as the best choreographer for hugely popular tracks including 'Dus Bahane' from the movie Dus, 'Seekh Le' from Munnabhai M.B.B.S, 'Saaki' from Musafir, he recently choreographed for the film Salaam-e-Ishq which is already making raves for its song-n-dance. Bosco in his candid interview with IndiaFM speaks about Salaam-e-Ishq and the song and dance routine in Bollywood, something for which Indian films are known across the world.

How does it feel to be one of the most sought after choreographers in the industry today?
It feels fantastic; speaking in regard of Salaam-E-Ishq it was a big for us. It gave us great high to be a part of such a big film. Not everybody is lucky to get this kind of an opportunity and to have a team like this feels great

How was it to work with Nikhil Advani for Salaam-E-Ishq?
Working with Nikhil was fabulous. I got this film through Rohan Sippy with whom we did Bluffmaster. Rohan put in a word for me, he told Nikhil he should try Bosco. I did not know Nikhil before this. We shared the same wavelength which made it very easy for us to connect. He is very youthful in the way he has handled the film, we shared a great work relationship on the sets, we also fought at times but eventually the end result was great".

What is your basic approach while choreographing any track? How do you go about it? Do you set the steps beforehand or just go by the flow on the sets?
For Salaam-E-Ishq I had 3-4 hours of sessions with Nikhil, he gave me a complete narration of the film, it wasn't something like a regular song and dance and you come out of it, we had to follow the character and how a character would perform or behave. It was 100% involvement between choreographer and director.

Does choreographing in a team (with Cesar) make things easier for you or is it difficult to co-ordinate at times?
What happens is that we revert to individual projects like Salaam-E-Ishq was handled by me. We brainstorm on a project and then move ahead. Otherwise it's fantastic, we discuss things, it's like a bouncing board, you have another opinion and then we individually take a call on how to rectify and make it look good.

How did it feel to make so many stars dance to your tune in Salaam-E-Ishq?
It was fantastic; after you see the song in totality it is unbelievable. Not only are you going from one story to another but also you are moving from place to place, from London to Hyderabad to Delhi. But eventually when you see the entire song it looks like one body. It took us a lot of commitment and planning to capture every story.

Choreographing such a huge star cast each with a different story – any particulars that you kept in mind?
Before going in for the shoot both me and Nikhil were very clear of what we wanted. We would sit and brainstorm and decide on what would look nice and what wouldn't. Eventually everything worked out for the betterment of the film".

Technically speaking I think Hrithik Roshan is the best dancer
Which is your favourite track that you choreographed in Salaam-E-Ishq?
I can't be biased; all the tracks are rocking, all are very good and special to me, I can't really choose one.

Who according to you was the best dancer in Salaam-E-Ishq?
According to me Salman and Priyanka rocked, they had this song called Tenu Leke which was shot in London with 80 dancers. We also performed it for the Screen Awards and it got a great response.

Who according to you is the best dancer in the industry (male/female)?
Technically speaking I think Hrithik Roshan is the best dancer, and attitude wise I guess its Salmaan and Abhishiek, these two have a different body language. Amongst actress I think it's Aishwarya, Priyanka and Sameera Reddy – they all are fabulous.

Which choreographers from the industry have inspired you?
I have been inspired by myself. Nobody inspires me.

I have been inspired by myself. Nobody inspires me.
Which choreographers from the current lot do you think are doing good work?
I think everyone's doing a great job, Bollywood has become such a big industry its good to see that everyone's work is highlighted.

Has choreography in Bollywood evolved over the years?
I think choreography has evolved big time, the sound the dance – everything has evolved.

With dance based shows like Nach Baliye and Jhalak Dikhlaja on TV off late, do you think choreography and choreographers are getting more recognition?
Shows like these are a great platform for choreographers today. When we started we struggled to get recognition. But once you do a Nach Baliye you get instant recognition, you are all over the place.

What are your forthcoming films that you are choreographing?
Apart from Salaam-E-Ishq I am doing Cheeni Kum, Shakalaka Boom Boom, Partner and a couple of films which haven't been named as yet.

Photo Feature: Sunny Deol does what he does best
By IndiaFM News Bureau, June 13, 2006 - 04:24 IST

Sunny Deol does what he is best at – Action. These are pictures from choreographer turned director Ahmed Khan's second movie Fool and Final. Here we see Sunny getting ready for a shot in a boxing ring. Seems he is going to fight a bad guy in the ring (though he still has his jeans on). The background has a lot of graffiti on the walls, something which was seen in Ahmed Khan's first film Lakeer too. (Remember the Nach Le song)?

In the next picture we see Ahmed Khan explaining a shot to Viveik Oberoi. We hear that it is actually Sunny who does most of the fighting while Viveik always ends up doing wrong to make it a comedy of events. Incidentally Khan wanted Viveik to be in his first film but the latter had date problems and subsequently John Abraham stepped in.

Apart from Sunny and Viveik, Fool and Final boasts of a hoard of stars comprising of Shahid Kapur, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Ayesha Takia, Sameera Reddy, Sharmila Tagore, Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Vijay Raaz and Zakir Hussain as the main villain.

Arbaaz Khan's secret dinner with Kareena & Shahid

By Subhash K. Jha, May 22, 2007 - 05:13 IST

It was at a dinner with his friends Kareena, Shahid and director Ahmed Khan that Arbaaz Khan was offered the role of the comic gangster in Fool 'n' Final.

"It's not a consciously funny role. In both Fool 'n' Final and Shoot-out At Lokhandwala I'll make people laugh," promises Arbaaz.

After five years of poker-faced spoil-sport roles, in Apoorva Lakhia's Shoot-out At LokhandwalaArbaaz is finally loosening up. He's cast as a cop who provides many light moments. "My character Javed Sheikh is a bit of a linguistic with a master-command over many languages. He keeps correcting everyone's language. Though he doesn't mean to be, he's quite comical likewise my character in Feroz Naidiadwala's Fool 'n' Final. I play this gang lord called Moscow Chikna who's always in a rage over goof-ups in his organization. He isn't consciously being funny but comes across as such to those around him."

He shared a great rapport with the whole Shootout team. "Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty are friends, and actors I've looked up to. I'm on the right side of the law with them whereas most of the actors who played gangsters were naturally thrown together. I had to chase the gangster played by Rohit Roy. So I can't say we got a chance to like each other," says Arbaaz using the funny bones that he has lately discovered.

Arbaaz laughs recalling how he got the role in Fool & Final. "I was having dinner with Shahid, Bebo (Kareena) and Ahmed Khan when Ahmed said there was a character in his film only I could do… and his name was Moscow Chikna. It's hard to keep a straight face when your character has such a name. But in our films, anything is possible."

Arbaaz who has the disadvantage of being from a family of celebrities feels he has carved a distinct place for himself. "I've deliberately chosen to be different from the typical romantic-action heroes that Shah Rukh, Aamir and my brother Salman play. I knew I didn't stand a chance in that slot. So I started as an anti-hero a slot that other big heroes subsequently adopted. I feel I've made a lot of mistakes in my career and done roles that have finally done me more harm than good. But I've learnt from all my mistakes. Today I feel more confident. There're so many kinds of films being made. And I fit in comfortably into various slots."
