It is night, Ragav waits behind the chawl for his Kalpi. He looks around and thinks to himself, "I must get some street light installed. It is quite dark."

He sees a shadow... His heart skips a beat as he thinks, "She has come at last."

Impatient and bursting to lighten his heart, he says, "Kalpi, hunny thank you for coming. After the last time when Kamla maa came, I did not think you would agree."

"R..." Kalpi is about to speak, when Ragav interrupts her saying, "No Kalpi... Let me have my say. I want to explain myself... I know you will understand where I am coming from."

Ragav explains himself, ending with, "... Just as you have craved for your mother's love, so have I... Kalpi you wouldn't marry me until Kamla maa approved... I have done the same, done what my mother wanted."

His heart heavy, Ragav continues, "Kalpi, I love you... I have always loved you and will always love you. Please hunny, tell me you will wait a year for me. I only ask for a year then we can get married."

Ragav looks at Kalpi, wishing she would come out of the shadows... As he looks at her silent form, he remembers his love for her... He thinks to himself, " whom am I kidding, I can't wait a year to make Kalpi mine."

Decision made, he walks towards her with sindoor in hand, pulls her towards the light and fills her maang. He looks at the woman he just made his and nearly has a heart attack, for standing in front of him, eyes spitting fire is none other than... Kamla maa.

Ragav instinctively thinks, " Dammit I should have learnt my lesson from the first chandelstine meeting..." With a sigh he put his cheek forward, waiting for his second whack and thinks to himself,
"Memo to Sammy... Install street lights!"
