i have been studying in the USA all my life and right now im finishing of 10th grade. and i want to go into the medical field, and become a onolgist (cancer doctor) but i really dont want to spend 9-11 years in USA studying medicin,so i am thinking of going to Pakistan for my medical studies becouse it takes a lot less time in pakistan and india. but the problem is that i really dont know the system for pakistan and india and i dont know if they have good education there, and im not a big urdu/hindi genious so do they teach in hindi or in english? how hard to u have to work there and overall how is the studeis over there? is it a good idea to go over there, or should i stay here?

can all of you plz help me out, i would really appriciate it!😃

Whichever way you look at it - it will be 9-11 years.. In india.. its .5.5 for graduation and internship. another two years for specialization.. and if you wish to pratice in US you might need additional certification.. so ... you look at around 9 years at the least...😊. DOing it here in the US might give you better quality and state-of-art education but will be extremely expensive as well....

Also remember the AMA has become very strict about their standards of accepting FMG's. there are people who go to India/Pakistan and do their medical school, come back and will not be get the residency they want. I have Indian medical residents who come here take their exams and wait for years to get into a residency. Most of the times the residency they get into is psycatrist/ internal medicine. Both are pretty much filled by FMG's. Getting a Oncology residency is pretty hard with a foreign degree NOW, since the first preference is given to the graduates of this country. In the past there was a lack of doctors which made FMG's get into what ever they want easily. Now there is so much competetion. We did not even look into applications of GPA less than 3.7 and MCAT of 30. There were 3200 applications for 300 seats.I would highly discourage you going to school in India/Pakistan. If you really want to do become a Oncologist, there is nothing that can STOP you here! Also why get labeled as a FMG when you have the oppurtunity to do it here. Do it the Hard way and you will enjoy it. You are young, and have all the time in the world, and will learn a lot 😉 .   ;
