From the list. HDDCS was 3rd highest grosser of 1999, and highest grosser overseas. Still remained Semi Hit. Fashion was average. KHNH was hit as well as Ramleela. No matter how biggest grosser they. Its a complete different thing from bigger hit.

Well, that's what I'm saying. Depends on the criteria one uses...!! Someone may use BB according to some website, I used it for a certain year. And even in technical terms, KHNH was a BB for me, as when inflation adjusted, on BO it earned four times of its budget approximately... and very few movies, especially with A grade stars do this.
Apart from that in this certain article, the movies are shown to emphasize the fact that had KAreena did those movies, her career could have been lot different. And this no one can deny, all of these movies are extremely important for their heroines.

KKK is the BIGGEST IDIOT to have refused these movies!!!

It's awful because she has absolutely everything to have made it even bigger than she used to be- A stunning face, lot of talent & a FAMOUS LAST NAME!

Instead she rejected these movies & started her Charity. Tsk.

Kareena was not offered Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999).
Sanjay Leela Bhansali saw her debut film Refugee (2000) and wanted to work with her in his next film Devdas (2002).

He invited her for a screen test/audition/dress rehearsal - but ultimately he felt she was too young to play Paro - she was just 20 years old at the time (2001).

He cast Aishwarya - who was more experienced on screen, and was mature enough to play the part (aged 27).

First of all these movies are BBs because everything was in their right places...including the final cast...if anything was changed the movies I doubt would be a BB...example...Can anyone imagine Kareena playing Nandini and Aish playing Geet...I can't and I think both HDDCS and JWM wouldn't be iconic movies if the casts were altered...So these articles need to STFU😵

THANK GOODNESS. 😃 I really liked all movies. specially Kal Ho Na Ho. Priety rocked as Naina Kapoor.šŸ‘ KKK would have spoiled it with her type of over-acting. 🄱

Rejected Nhii..Donated on Platter bolo..Charity ko rejection ka naam..Bahut nainsaafi with Bebo..šŸ˜ˆšŸ˜†..
On a serious note..She was better off not being in movies like Kal Ho Na Ho and HDDCS..She would have made those roles look like a caricature..

Hum Dil one is wrong. SLB even said he wanted Kajol first. And then it didn't happen for some reason, he met Aish at a party, looked into her eyes and saw the fire he wanted for Nandini. I think I heard once that Madhuri was considered too, but not sure about that rumor. Kajol def was first choice.

FACT: Sanjay wrote the characted of Nandini with Madhuri Dixit in mind. He literally wrote the role for her. But she had rejected him several times for his Khamoshi - so either he was too embarrassed to ask her, or she again refused (with or without reading the script).

It was only after the release and subsequent success of HDDCS - with Madhuri claiming in several magazine interviews how much she loved the movie - the word got back around to Sanjay, and then he offered her the role of Chandramukhi in Devdas.

I do remember reading that Kajol was also offered HDDCS before Aishwarya, so that is also correct šŸ˜‰
