More on appearance, Less on Singing

Why are they focusing so much on how the people look rather than how they sing?

If you look at all the girls, all their hair is done up and they are pretty decked up as well... and by looking at some of their expressions, some of them are even bothered by it.

In auditions, none of them have any makeup or very minimal amount so they can completely focus on the singing.. but why on stage must you have to wear so much??😕 I can understand some lighting makeup is needed or small things.. but not so much that the contestant is self-conscious about how they look rather than how they sing.

So true, Ammu! A little make up is okay. The thing is they go through all that effort (and money 😆 ) and it doesn't even look good. So what's the point? 😕

People just give so much importance to how they look and how they dance that they forget to focus on singing 😭 Frankly, I think the dress and make-up should be left up to the contestant. They can wear what they want(as long as it's appropriate!)

I don't mind extreme make up as long as the contestants sing well. Presentation is also very important. But singing comes first.

yeahh i agree, the contestants can pick their own outfir & make-up...sum of the girls really looked uncomfortable singing in those dresses and u cud tell from their facial expressions...singing comes first, then appearance

THat's true Sravi, giving the contestants' own choice to wear or dress the way they want as long as it's appropriate sounds pretty good, although it's probably easier for the people to just pick their dress! 😛

Presentation is very important, I agree, no one ones to see a performer in raggedy clothes or not looking proper but putting on too much also affects it.. I don't mind the fact that they have all that decked up thing but as long as it does not affect the singing of the contestant.

This is not playback singing competetion. The contestants' life is now about musical shows and face exposure.. It is never too late to drop awkward stage behavior due to unfamiliar attire, make up and lights. It takes learning.

I do want to say that SRGMP2007 dress and hair designers need replacement. It also feels like some of the contestants did not do proper dress rehearsals.

When you look great, you feel great and you perform great! Some ppl need make up to look good, so they can practice performing made up.
Singing at no cost should be compromised / undermined..
