Question: Does Bollywood let 'anyone' in?

Does 'real' talent still exist in Bollywood today?

Or, is Bollywood filled with so-called 'wannabe' actors, that make a living off cameos and their sexy image?

Has the importance of acting gone for the Bollywood 'actors' of today?

Your views.😊

MONI 😃 .. Hugz dear!!

I think Bollywood still appreciates good talent.
Shiney Ahuja, Rahul Bose, Konkana Sensharma & similar are good proof of that. However, there is lot of scope for the banal stories and mediocre acting, hot bodies being the crierium to ensure success of movies. So many of those appear semi-p*rn! Now one doesn;t need acting talent for that anyway!

Yes! Anyone can be in, need money / jack / relative / political influence/ etc... if the movie doesn't run now that comes later 😃 .

Its a mix in there some are good , some are bad toh balance is there. Final choice is on us to watch them or not 😃. But if you are saying standard on acting is going down, I kinna of agree - one more reasons why oldies are getting roles that don't suit them 😉

A whole lot of "anyones" have already made their way in lately. Some by way of modelling, others through bizarre connections, others yet through sheer luck and a handful through "talent hunts."

Of the lot, a significant percentage provides skin show and utter bakwaas performances.

However, there have also been a slew of good actors, such as Konkona Sen Sharma, Ayesha Takia, Shiney Ahuja, Sushmita Sen (personal opinion on that one), Shreyas Talpade, etc.

There's talent and there's waste. Nepotism hasn't guaranteed us talent before, so a fresh pool of people (Bipasha Basu, John Abraham, Arjun Rampal, Vipasha Agarwal, and others included) could only have been good.

Perspective differs. I haven't seen anything noteworth from the likes of Rakhi Sawant, Mallika Sherawat, Neha Dhupia, etc. and Upen Patel (only name coming to mind at the moment as I haven't seen others like Emraan Hashmi). At least not "acting-wise"

And of the existing lot, talent is few and far between. Many of the actors in the industry have a lot of potential, but haven't developed fully yet. And then there are those in the industry solely because of the name they carry.. because it's certainly not acting capability that is keeping them in business.

Sheer luck? why credit luck 😛 most talent shows involves public voting, isn't this luck factor contributed by Voting folks?

So true, yet they get to recognition by whom? 😉😆
