Does having a good and effective playback voice effect an actor image as a hero ??

Yes it do matter .. watch out Sonu Nigam and Udit Naryan on Shahrukh khan where SRK himself look like a hero in those voices...and chk out Shahrukh khan in mohit chauan voice " Saans" or for instance honey sing and arijit voice in " Cheenai Express" he look like he is faking

it does
mohit's voice doesnt suit srk
saans was unconvincing bec of mohit-srk
odd combination of playback and screen actor.
mohit's voice suits perfectly with ranbir
but abhijeet's voice didnt (dil ka jo from besharam).

well i think sonu nigam suits salman and srk very well.. specially the ada on salman khan songs are damn good..

S.P. Balasubramanium's voice pretty much defined much of Salman Khan's image to the point that personally, I feel most singers voices sound off with him till now.

A lot of the times, the audience comes to equate a specific playback voice with an actor since songs are one of the biggest factors in a BW movie.

First thing that came to mind when I read the title, I still think he was Salman's best playback singer.

It used to once upon a time when Lata Mangeshkar used to sing only for leading ladies and that too of her choice. But nowadays NO, unfortunately the actors/stars only look for catchy/vulgar lyrics just to get hit songs. Melody takes a back seat. Moreover these days, songs are more Seen than Heard.
