Daadimaa looked in their direction and hid a smile as she saw them bickering like normal people. Maan immediately let go off her hand and played with the breakfast in his plate. Geet looked at him sulking and hid a smile thinking of how he was craving to talk to her since 2 days. She wanted him to realize how much his silence was driving her crazy. Just as she was about to laugh, she saw Maan turning towards her and she quickly walked away from him. Her heart craved to talk to him as well, but if her silence was the only way to make him talk to her, then that's how she would make him talk. Geet saw him looking at her intently as she settled on the breakfast table, Geet looked away from him in an attempt to avoid his gaze as he knew he would easily be able to distract her from her efforts.

Geet, doctor is going to remove your plaster today, right.? Hopefully your leg will be fine now bte. Don't forget about your appointment Geet. Rohan, you go with Geet and make sure to inform me what doctor said because I know Geet won't tell me, thinking I will get worried. Daadimaa suddenly broke the silence around the table. Geet saw Maan's fist clench around the spoon he was playing with at Daadimaa's words. Before she could speak, Maan responded to Daadimaa's words.

Its okay Daadimaa, I will go with Geet to the doctor. I will also inform you about what the doctor said. Maan quickly took advantage of the opportunity. Daadimaa and Geet stared in his direction while Rohan laughed loudly. Maan threw a glare in his direction but he was least effected and continued laughing loudly.

Maan, aren't you late for office.? Daadimaa asked raising an eyebrow at the sudden change in his behaviour. Maan looked in Geet's direction to find her staring at him in shock.

I'm not going to office today. I'll work from home later. That settles it, I'll take her to the doctor. This moron can stay back and eat your brain. Maan said and threw the napkin towards Rohan which he dodged. As Rohan heard Maan's words, he laughed even louder and Daadimaa couldn't keep herself from giggling as well.

Daadi, did you hear that.? Maan wants to miss office today.? What will happen to KC now.? Rohan made fun of Maan while Daadi and Geet sneakily laughed. Geet looked at his irritated face and enjoyed the sulking look on his face. It wasn't everyday Maan would sulk like a kid. Geet could see he was a kid at heart, but he would always keep his emotions masked under his anger. She had seen the real Maan, she wanted him to remain the same.

Maan, its okay. Daadi is right, you don't need to miss your office. I can go with Rohan. Geet joined in the fun and watched his expressions change from irritated to sheer anger the moment he heard her words. Maan looked at her in shock, of all the time she ignored him she has chosen to speak up now.

I said I am not going today. I will take you to the doctor, does anyone have any problem with that.? Maan snapped getting up from the table and pushing his plate away. All of them stopped giggling as soon as they realized Maan could burst out any minute. Maan glared at all of them and left the dining table furiously. Geet looked at Daadimaa who smiled at her and left the table patting her cheek. Geet looked towards Rohan to find him looking intently in her direction.

What.? What was the need for you to irritate him that much.? Anyhow he is never in a good mood, you just made it worse. Geet glared at Rohan.

Geet, it's only me who can irritate him and still live to tell the tale. Because that's the only way I can get a reaction from him and being a smile on his face, he hardly gets happy. He is in an unusual mood today, when I tease him, he usually strikes back which he didn't today. What's happening between you both.? Rohan asked Geet with a serious look on his face.

I'm not talking to him since 2 days. Because he doesn't talk to me. I have tried to get him to open up his heart time and again to share his pain with me, but he just doesn't. Every time I think I am close enough to him, he just runs away. I don't know what is troubling him so much and I can't see him suffering. Geet replied to Rohan in a sad tone.

Geet, I have known him all my life. You should know him by now. He has changed Geet, I'm can see that he is in love with you but it will take time for him to allow you to get any closer to him. Maan has been through a lot in his life, his biggest fear is losing people who are close to him. He has lost everyone who meant the word to him. Though Maan is a tough nut to crack, but he is the most loveable person at heart. I can see he loves you, but there are things in his past which haunt him day and night. I have seen him suffering and I don't want him to go through that again. You are the only person who can bring him out of it. I am not asking you to stop making efforts to get him out of it, but I'll only ask you to not push him too much. He must be waiting for you, you should go.! Since I don't have to accompany you anymore, I might as well do something good today than wasting my time. Rohan said smiling at her and got up from the table.

Do you know what's bothering him.? Geet asked Rohan just as he was about to walk away. Hearing her words Rohan stopped and sat back on the table with a sign.

Yes, I do Geet. That's why I said, it's not easy for him. But please don't ask me to tell you, Maan trusts me more than himself and I can't betray his trust. One thing I can assure you of is that he is madly in love with you, he even got jealous of me and there is no better proof that he loves you, but is holding himself back. Rohan laughed while saying the words. Geet looked at him in confusion to which he just shook his head and laughed.

You thought I wouldn't know. Geet I just said I have known him all my life, wouldn't I know when he is jealous. It might have taken you a while the other day to figure of that he was jealous but I understood it the moment he stepped in, because of his anger. It wasn't his usual one, it was frustration. He couldn't look at us, so he just stood there with his back towards us. He was jealous and I could make it out, even today as soon as Daadi said about me taking you to the doctor, he couldn't tolerate it and he decided not to go to office. Maan trusts me a lot Geet, if he didn't want me to go with you to the doctor, it's obvious he was jealous not because he didn't trust me. I don't feel bad too that he is jealous of me of all the people, If I can help him open up his heart to you, I would do it any day because I know you are the only person who can make him happy. Maan and Daadimaa are the only 2 people I have in this world, my only family. I would do anything for them. Rohan said with tears pricking the corner if his eyes. His words touched her heart, she was sure if not anyone Rohan would always be there for Maan.

Okay, enough of depressing talks now, let's go from here before the volcano comes back to erupt on us. Rohan said making Geet laugh. Just as the turned around to leave, the saw Maan standing in front of them, looking at Rohan. Maan walked forward and smacked Rohan at the side of his head making Rohan lose his balance and fall sideways.

What the.. Are you mad.? Rohan gasped supporting himself by holding on to the chair. Without any word, Maan pulled a glaring Rohan into a tight hug. Geet who stood there shocked, smiled as she saw both of them embracing each other. Their bond was something which could make anyone happy. It was the second time she was seeing Maan smile wholeheartedly, yet again because of Rohan. It only reminded her of his words, how he cursed himself for not being the reason for her laughter.

Oye, don't come so close to me. Your wife might get jealous of me and think I am trying to snatch you away from her. Don't worry Geet, I am not interested in this moron, you can keep him. Anyhow I am bored of him as I have tolerated him for a long time now. Rohan said pulling out of the hug and running away before Maan could reach him. She could hear Rohan laughing in the corridor, while Maan stood smiling in front her.

You thought only you can't make me smile, but the truth is that even I can't bring the smile on your face which Rohan brings. That doesn't mean I will go away from you thinking I can't make you happy. Geet said as she saw him moving away from her. Maan stiffened hearing her words.

You don't make me smile but at least you don't hurt me. That's the difference between us. Maan said looking in her direction. Geet lost her patience hearing his words. She held him by his hand and dragged him up the stairs. Maan wanted to stop her, but he knew there was no point in stopping her as she wouldn't listen to him any more now. Reaching their room, Geet shut the door behind them and faced him.

Enough Maan.! Just stop this now.. Why can't you see how perfectly happy I am when I am with you.? You can only see the tears that you give me, but can't you see the happiness you give me.? You say you don't want to hurt me, but do you really think by distancing me from yourself I will be happy.? I can only be happy as long as I am with you. Do you think It won't hurt me to stay away from you.? Answer me Maan, you can't run away today.! I need to know what are you hiding which is giving you so much pain .!! Geet demanded an answer from him holding him by his collar. He could see the tears that were forming in her eyes. Maan closed his eyes tightly, trying to control his emotions.

I can't tell you Geet.! I don't have the strength in me to tell you the truth.. Maan confessed holding her by her shoulders. Geet looked at his vulnerable state and his pain stricken face. She held his face in his hands and made him open his eyes, looking straight into them.

I promise I won't leave you, you just have to tell me. Geet said looking at him with confident eyes. Maan could see the confidence in her eyes, he knew he wouldn't be able hold himself back from telling her the truth today when he felt so vulnerable. Maan tried to look away but she didn't let him.

I won't let you run away today Maan, you have to tell me what is it that is bothering you so much.? What is that is not letting you confess your heart to me. You have to tell me to today. I know you are afraid if losing me, but I promise I won't leave you, ever. Geet promised him still holding his head between her hands.

Geet, don't promise me something that you won't be able to give me. I know nothing will remain the same after I tell you the truth. Maan said tying to move away again but was held back by her again.

Why are you putting yourself through all this Maan.? Just tell me, I am not going anywhere. She pleaded him but Maan only reminded quiet.

I promised him I won't tell you the truth. I am helpless Geet... Maan confessed holding her hands in his with tears streaming down his eyes. Geet had never imagined she would see him in such a vulnerable state. She could never see him in so much pain. She left his face and took a few steps back.

I can't see you like this Maan, I can't bear to see you suffering every minute. If that's how it is, its better I leave. I can't see you like this and you can't tell me the truth. The mention of the truth is tormenting you such an extent, and if that's how it is going to, I wont be able to bear it. Geet said with tears streaming down her eyes and started leaving the room when Maan pulled her back, grabbing her into a hug.

Don't go. I know I am being selfish by asking you to stay with me when I am hiding the biggest truth of my life from you. But I also can't deny the truth that I can't live without you, yes I am scared of loosing you. Maan said with his tears wetting her shoulder. Geet closed her eyes hearing his words and tightened her arms around him, even though they weren't the words she wanted to hear but he had confessed his heart to her. She needed nothing more to know that he loved her, his words had given her the strength of taking away all his pains. Geet broke the hug and took his face between her hands once again, making him face her.

Do you think I can live without you.?? Tell me the truth Maan, just let it out. The past which is haunting you and not letting you move on, don't keep it inside anymore. Just let it out today. I promise I am here, I won't go anywhere. How can I leave you and go when I love... Geet said when she felt his hand covering her mouth. She looked at him to find him shaking his head with tears in his eyes.

Don't.. Not now Geet, I don't want to cheat you, though I already feel I have cheated you long enough for this day to come. I never wanted this day to come, the day you say those 3 words to me, but no matter how much I tried I couldn't stop it. How could I stop you, when I couldn't stop myself. You need to hear the truth before you say even one more word. Maan said holding her hands in his. Geet tightened her hold on his hands and urged him to speak even though his words sent a shiver down her spine.

Why Maan.? Tell me the truth, what is it that is not letting you move on. What is the one truth that is keeping us away, tell me.! Tell me Maan, just say it. Geet begged him holding his hands tightly. Her voice was his doing and he knew he wouldn't be able to bear the burden anymore. Closing his eyes, he turned away from her. Geet felt him shaking under her touch, she couldn't imagine what could be torturing him to such an extent. She knew it was only seconds before he would say it out loud but suddenly she felt fear taking over her confidence. Was she strong enough to hear the truth that was tormenting Maan to such an extent but the words that came out of this mouth left her numb.

I killed your father Geet. Maan confessed the truth leaving Geet numb. Geet felt her world slip out of her hands as her sense gave up and numbness took over her. For a second she couldn't register what Maan was saying, until she found her voice.

Maan.? Her voice came as a mere whisper to his ears. Maan tightened his hold on her hands and shut his eyes tighter. He couldn't hold his feelings back anymore.

He died because of me Geet. But it's also true that I am in love with you and I can't live without you. Maan confessed with tears sliding down his eyes. His words pierced through her heart like a thousand needles, killing her every second. She looked at his face, his eyes were tightly shut and his face turned away from hers; he couldn't face her. Her body was numb with shock; she couldn't feel anything but the pain his words had left on her heart; a pain that might last forever.
