After watching today's episode, I must say that I want Ashatai to be there till the end of the show! I know that is not going to happen since she is in US (I went to her first show in US).

We watched the first episode when Ashatai was there and Zee took her for granted. They thought they could do anything they want and still cash in on her presence (TRP and all that). But Ashatai did not budge. She made Zee change their gameplan and brought the focus back on serious music. Her forthright comments in the very first episode that she was in changed everything. She told contestants to dance less and focus on singing. She questioned the selection of songs. She told everyone that she was there to judge contestants' singing abilities and not performance and dancing skills. She did not get swayed by the comments made by mentors and always frankly spoke and rated the participants based on her own independent opinion.

And we saw the results today. Today's episode was million times better than the ones we saw in the first 2 weeks... Garish make-ups, awful hair-dos, mini skirts, open shoulder dresses, ragged clothes, hip shaking... all were out and Zee was forced to present the contestant in decent getups having them focusing on serious singing. All this was because of Ashatai. I don't think anyone else's presence in the show would have made such a difference. So thanks goes all the way to Ashatai for bringing the focus back to serious music in this show.

it was quite hilarious to see Himesh ji getting angry at Asha-tai's response of Ekaar-Akaar. Congrats Asha ji, wonderful response. 👏

Yes, you are right and so very truely said.
I was disappointed by the first episode last week but now I am looking forward for next week's show. She made all the difference.
I wish she could have come as a judge in C2005 show too, so many deserving candidates in the C2005 missed her guidance.

I also sincerely hope that she stay in the C2007 till the end. I t will be really beneficial to the contestants.

Luv,

I just absolutely love Asha jee! What's amazing about her is her incredible humbleness.. i've met her and sat with her for 2 hrs a couple of years ago. I've met people who are not even 1/8 of Asha jee, but their ego's are sky high, and this amazing lady is just the epitome of class, grace, and humbleness.

Anyway, coming to the point, ekaar and aakar means the way your words come out of your mouth while singing. In singing, one has to sing in aakar, i.e. open their mouth wide to get the words understood, and to have a better throw. Didn't Asha jee say that you have to stretch it like a towel. The way people do it in training is, when you do Aaaa, you have to measure it in inches, as to how open your mouth is... and stretch it meaning, in a round way, rather than wide (wide is almost like a smiling way.. which is where you're singing in ekaar). It's hard to explain without a demonstration, but this is in essence what it means)

Ashaji's poise and modesty speaks volumes of her supreme position in the Indian Music arena. She is truly amazing both as a singer and as a judge.
