Rani Mukerji vs Kareena. Why Rani had a shorter stay at the top?

Rani is only 3 years older but started to fizzle out at 27-28 which is too early for an actress even in BW. Her last high profile project was KANK though it ended up as a semi hit. Many of her YRF films after that flopped badly.

Kareena meanwhile had many flops as well, but remained at top for longer. Rani is very highly rated as an actor so what happened?

Because that Amole Palekar wala movie flopped. Top heroine giving a dud with the top hero.. not a good sign.

YRF didn't give her big projects after 2006 though. They went for newbie Anushka and Kat opposite. Adi knows business very well.

Only 3 years older. Kareena was at the top in her late 20s where as Rani's career was already on a downhill at 28. I find it very strange.
