His mind went back to the night of their wedding when he had told her that she wouldn't be able to match up to his status and that she couldn't even speak properly. Damn hell, she was so good. her English was more than awesome and she carried herself so well. he felt so pathetic..actually very bad that he had created this distance between them all by himself.

Geet, though very new to all these new kinds of talks and stuffs was loving it. she had made friends with almost everyone. She realized her hubby was really someone big. She forgot herself in the gossip when there were sudden gasps and murmurs. She looked at Michelle who looked worried, looking at her.

Geet was confused when some lady pointed towards something, "hey look...isn't it Rose? I heard she now designing for Hollywood."

Geet turned towards the girl being pointed at. She was absolutely gorgeous and so damn beautiful. She wore a pink evening gown, flowing down till her feet. She indeed was beautiful. But she was thoroughly shocked when rose straightaway went to maan and hugged him. every damn person in this world was looking at them. she gaped at them speechless when rose took the liberty to kiss him on his cheeks, sucking the life out of her. and damn that man seemed to enjoy it.

Michelle sighed, "Mr Khurana and Rose had been together in the past...ex gf"

She looked at michelle feeling so damn angry and then back at maan. He was holding her by her waist so comfortably and talking to others. Even the media was clicking pics. She was so damn angry... actually didn't know what she was feeling within. But she hated it.

"they had broken up.. Mr Khurana was very particular about what he wanted and rose had her career ahead so they parted but on good terms..", someone filled her mind with more rage and fury.

Her eyes went to his hand comfortably holding her bare waist... she felt so damn irritated. A wave of possessiveness passed over. He was supposed to be holding her and not any random girl. she was his gf... not some rose or lily..r whatever! She never knew she had that much jealousy within her... damn that woman. How shamelessly she was holding him round his shoulder and flaunting herself. The lights dimmed as there was a call for dance. She was angry on maan, agreed but she couldn't see him go and dance with another girl right in front of her eyes. She felt hurt jealous, angry..every horrible emotion hitting her with so much force...she never gave in to him doesn't mean he could go on dancing with someone else. She felt the corner of her eyes burn... as her gaze followed them all through the dance. Why the hell did he get his wife when he so wanted to enjoy with his gf!! Hey wait a minute. She was supposed to be his gf not that lily...oops rose...whatever!

Maan was surprised to see her looking intently at him. he was meeting rose like after 2 years and they had been good friends as well. he couldn't say no when she asked him for a dance casually. He just went ahead, talking away about their lives. Rose was surprised to hear that he was married and that his wife was here with him. he twitched her brow seeing her not even blinking a bit. Rose followed his gaze and laughed, "do you think she is angry?"

Geet fumed...that videshi gori laughing away in her hubby's arms... shameless! Maan shrugged looking at her pale face, "why do I smell trouble?"

Rose laughed and let him go, not before placing a kiss on his cheek, "enjoy...must say she is pretty MK.."

She walked away, leaving him all to her eyes shooting daggers. He wondered why she was angry. He walked to her and held her close, "enjoying pumpkin?"

She glared at him and then looked away feeling hurt. He squeezed her to him, "am asking something pumpkin... can I have a dance with you?"

Geet pushed his hand away, "am hungry..." and walked ahead. He held her hand and pulled her back, "are you mad at me?"

She twisted her lips, "why would I be? You could have enjoyed your dance. Why did you come back?"

Ohh boy, he was literally floored by her jealousy... his wifey darling was jealous..was she!

"she is a friend pumpkin...you don't have to be jealous...i am only yours baby..rose and I were having a friendly chat"

She pushed him away and walked ahead, "I am not jealous maan... do whatever you want for all I care.."

After dancing so closely with that woman he says it was a friendly chat!! She walked away when he pulled her and dragged her to the dance floor. she struggled to let go but hated him more for manhandling her always! He pulled her hands to his shoulder and locked her in his embrace, saying her to the soft romantic number.

"now tell me... were you jealous by any chance?", he teased her.

She looked away, "why would I be... its your wish do whatever you want..."

He leaned closer and placed a peck on her neck, "say that again looking into my eyes pumpkin..."

She felt she'd swoon with his kiss... his hand grazed her bare back so sensually, setting fire in her. her lips quivered, as current passed through her body with the warmth of his body. The music changed into another soft number and he pulled hr close to him in a jerk, pinning her to his body, from top to bottom. Her soft bosom stuck to his hard chest, wreaking havoc in her. never had she felt herself burn so intensely as his gaze locked with hers.

"talk looking into my eyes Geet..", he commanded. He sounded serious...not his usual fun mode. She looked up at him angrily, unable to deny that stern voice.

"good... now, what is bothering you?", he twirled her around and brought her back in his embrace.

She didn't reply rather looked at him with hurtful eyes. Like he understood, "am telling Geet... rose is a good friend of mine..."

"...she was your gf right? you had been with her...', she squeaked out her inner turmoil, trying to sound angry but her eyes betrayed and so did her heart. she was damn hurt. He sighed realizing she was insecure. He smiled as he waltzed softly with her. his fingers grazed her sari lining round her waist, setting goosebumps on her, "who said that? as far as I know you are my gf pumpkin..."

She was still not convinced. His playful nature was back but she was tad too angry, "I am not your gf okay...i am your wife.."

He was surprised to hear that anger in her voice but then smiled, pushing away the curl behind her ears, "thats what I have been trying to make you understand Geet..."

He looked so damn innocent that she hated herself for even falling for his charms. She was confused with his words.

"...you are my wife Geet and I really love you. Rose and I were just together for namesake and we never crossed that line. Its you... always and forever.."

She looked at him unsure, "but you can't... you don't love me..."

He sighed and pulled her close, "...i fell in love with your real self Geet and not because you are my wife! Its You who I am crazy about and not just because we were tied in a relationship.

I accept what I did was wrong and I am ready to accept any kind of punishment for that but I want you to understand that wife is just the fragmentation of our relationship. If you were not married then there would never had been a wife in you at all... wife is you..and you are Geet! and I love Geet."

She looked at him awed... they swayed to the music and his words echoed in her ears... her heart seemed to connect it well.

"aur kya hota agar mein iss rishety ko maan bhi leta uss raat... pyaar tho tumse hi hona tha... uss raat bhi aur ab bhi... it would always have been you Geet..whether that night or today or even if we were not married in the first place. It would always have been you...it was a mere coincidence that you turned out to be my wife"

She felt her heart a bit lighter today...may be he was right?? he was right!! it was her who had created the wall between her own self and her being the wife! Her heart fluttered with his words"pyaar tho tumse hi hona tha!! She felt touched...geet and the wife were the same person. Ohh only she knew how she held back her tears and stopped that urge to hug him tightly. Though much convinced, a part of her still wanted to play the game. And the opportunity came very quick when they were called for dinner and rose came to talk to him about something.

Maan sat with Geet on his table as ryan, Michelle and some other people joined them. Geet was glad that rose was not present but she didn't like the way she had kissed him. that evening was like a new realization for her.. but still, he had to work a little harder. They had their dinner chatting and Geet avoided looking at him. he tried to ask her if she was okay or liking something but she just made sure their gazes never locked! Actually she was mad at him for letting rose kiss him! chi! That was disgusting.

Michelle gulped her wine and looked at maan, "so Mr khurana...hows the pumpkin risotto?"

Geet coughed hearing that and immediately gulped in water. There was definitely no pumpkin risotto on the table. She hated maan for being such a jerk. Maan was busy texting someone over the phone. He just spoke absentmindedly, "umm..umm.. pumpkin.. yeah my pumpkin is quite spicy right now..am not able to relish it.."

Michelle laughed, "I am sure spicy things are exciting to eat..."

Maan held his wine to her, "how I wish I could eat it all up... but too hot to handle...i mean the spice,," he immediately changed the topic, not wanting to sound absurd.

In all this, Geet was beetroot red!! What the hell did he mean by eat it all up... annies words rang in her mind. damn..out of al places, her pathetic brain seemed to come up with that ahem ahem wala memory right now. damn she hated this man!!

They went back home post dinner and Geet refused to talk to him...oops even look at him. enough embarrassment for the day. he tried to speak but she avoided him completely. He wondered what was she mad about. She walked in angrily. He threw away his coat on the couch and held her hand, jerking her close. She twirled and fell on his chest.

"what is wrong with you tonight?", he snapped.

She glared at him, "you should know better..."

"geett... I am trying to talk since the last one hour... tell me what is it..."

She snapped her hand off and walked to her room. He followed, pressing his temples.

"its nothing... ", she spoke coldly.

"yaar you girls are so pathetic... you do one thing and expect the other person to understand something different..."

She turned back to him, "kya kaha aapne? Pathetic?"

"han pathetic! Dimag kharab kar rakha hain... tell me you fat pumpkin whats wrong..."

Her jaws dropped to the floor"did he just call her fat!! A fat pumpkin???!!!

"Mr Maan Singh Khurana..how dare you?"

"how dare me what? I am trying to hard to make sure you are enjoying everything and you..nautanki..", he spoke exasperated!

She gritted her teeth, "nautanki aur mein?? Tho khud kya kar rahe the uss ladki ke saath? Aur..aur wo who michelle ke saath pumpkin thing..you know sabne mujhe kitna tease kiya... how the hell I was supposed to face them with your so called pumpkin tag? Aur aap hain ki..."

She didn't realize what she was blabbering on, venting out her anger. She stopped midway seeing him so quiet, actually smiling at her. she narrowed her brows..like what! He extened his hands, cupped her face and smacked his lips right on hers! How could he have held himself back seeing those red plump lips complain to him with so much sensuality? He kissed her unnoticed...unwarned and sudden, rendering her numb and shocked. She was impeccably sweet...umm his sweet pumpkin! He took in those lips between his and moulded them into his. She was too shocked to react. Her mind went numb...what was he doing? Her heart beats were running a marathon as his warm lips devoured her like anything. She tried to push him again when life returned to her numbed brain. This was intoxicating, like a drug and that kiss... she felt she'd faint right there. she placed her hands on his chest, trying to push him but he bit her lips instead. He pushed her right against the wall near her bed and pinned her with his body. Every nerve cell seemed to come alive with his touch. Ohh how much she had craved for this... his hands grabbed her waist firmly and his tongue rolled over the seam of her lips, making her breathless.

She struggled a bit. He seemed annoyed. He parted a bit, panting furiously and glared at her, "for god's sake just hold still and let me love..."

"maan...", she opened her mouth asking him to stop. His tongue darted out and slipped into her mouth meticulously, not even letting her think. She fought hard with that overwhelming feeling, she fisted her fingers and hit him on the chest, meekly until she finally gave up. His mouth sucked out every bit of sweetness from hers, taking her to another world altogether. and she just couldn't fight it anymore. Her fingers loosened from the fist. They had been hitting him in a desperate need to free herself..but now seemed to clutch on his shirt tightly, giving away the change of emotions in her!
