Asad's P.O.V
"Who is it?!" I literally shouted. It didn't stop, it kept chuckling at our helplessness.
I was tired of all this. Where was Ayaan?! One minute I could hear Ayaan's voice and the next minute it was replaced by whoever this 'creature' was.
'It' kept talking and I couldn't figure out a thing as 'it's' voice was barely above a whisper, but what 'it' said next startled me,
"Zo... yaaa."
Zoya?! She was with Arjun and the others right?
Why?...
I sprinted out of the room as fast as I could and Arnav was still in the room when I left. I could hear his footsteps behind me, but all I cared about right now was Zoya.
What happened to her?
I was going so fast, I'm sure I missed a few steps when going down the stairs, because that's how I probably fell down.
I rose up in no time and was back at my feet.
"ZOYA!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.
I looked around and saw Arjun and the others sitting down, but Zoya was nowhere to be seen.
I ran up to them and shook Arjun furiously. Arjun stood up and as he did, I clutched his collar tight.
"WHERE. THE. HELL. IS. ZOYA!" I spoke between gritted teeth and literally shouted the last part.
By how loud I was shouting, there was no doubt that the others had
stood up.
He looked confused as his forehead lines were visible. Soon they faded away as he took in what I said and finally spoke.
"Zoya? She went to drink water." He turned his head towards the kitchen.
At this point, I'd lost all patience. Where was she? I felt like someone was squeezing my heart until there was no blood left.
All I knew was, I couldn't lose her, I was nothing without her. I'd already gave her my life and if something happened to her, I wouldn't survive. My eyes watered.
"When I told you to take care of her, I meant take CARE, how could you let her go, when you know what happened to Aya..."
We didn't know where he was either, maybe we wouldn't see him again and maybe that's what happened to Zoy... NO!
I shook my head furiously, trying to clear my thoughts.
"I'm sorry Asad, woh..."
"If anything and I mean ANYTHING happens to her, I swear I'm not going to spare you. Do you understand?"
My hands gripped his collars even more tightly and I took slow dangerous steps towards him as I said each word. At this point, my tears were threatening to pour at the thought of something happening to her.
"I'm so sorry Asad, it's all my fault. First Ayaan, now Zo..." He started.
"NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO HER OKAY? NOTHING!" I consoled him or as it seemed like; me.
I let go of his collar and took a step back. I kept chanting the same words like a mantra.
"Everyone look around, she must be here somewhere. I'll go check in the kitchen." I said at last, before turning around and running off to find Zoya.
Arnav P.O.V
Where was she? We didn't know. Right now everyone was tensed and didn't know what to do. Whatever Asad said to Arjun wasn't right. He shouldn't have put all blames on him, but he had the right to be angry. So I didn't stop him.
Khushi was trying to be calm, but we all knew, she wasn't. After all, Zoya meant a lot to us.
We couldn't lose her. We had to find her at any cost.
Author's P.O.V
Asad ran into the kitchen and quickly scanned each spot. He did a double-take on the floor. He saw something shining and he quietly went towards it. Once he reached there, he kneeled down to take a closer look and he knew exactly what it was. His eyes widened. He felt like his heart stopped beating.
He picked it up, and took a closer look, still finding it hard to believe what he saw ; Her engagement ring, it wasn't the ring the ring that shocked him, it was the fact that it was covered in blood.
He gulped down on his now dry throat and stood up, his hands trembling.
He caught a glimpse of something or someone, sitting in a crawled-up position, in a corner. He quickly put the ring in his pocket. It had it's head resting on it's knees so it's face wasn't visible to Asad and was quietly sobbing.
Asad saw that it wore the same clothes as Zoya.
"Zoya!" He whispered and took slow steps towards her.
"Zoya..." He said while he kneeled down and came to her level. He slowly moved his hands to caress hers.
As soon as he touched her, she stood up and Asad stood 2 seconds after.
"Asad!" She crashed herself into him so hard, that he stumbled back a few steps before assembling himself.
He hugged her even more tighter, afraid that if he let go, she'll disappear.
"Oh my god, Zoya! I got so worried. You know what I was thinking? That you... Something happened to yo... Where were you?" He gripped her tighter, if that was even possible.
She said nothing and that made his even more worried.
"Zoya... Are you okay?..." He asked as he stroked her hair.
She gasped as she clutched his shirt and arched her back as if something had just gone through her back.
She dug her nails even more deeper and Asad winced in pain. She threw her head of his shoulder and was now facing the ceiling. She inhaled again and again and now, her whole body trembled and was pale.
"ZOYA?!"
