Once again - I am not offended by this parallelism - its only a show - the CVs are not trying to re-incarnate Shiva and Parvati

I respect your POV and other views expressed by my fellow RRians. I am not offended by what is being shown (as one must suspend logic to view any soap 😊) but my take is:
1) In an overarching kind of way its wonderful to believe that two souls are destined to be together...so it tickles my romantic notions that a boy named Rudra and a girl named Parvati are soulmates.
2) Everyone practices their faith in their own way and I have no problem with Paro's undying faith in her Bholenath.

3) However, when blatantly obvious parallels are drawn between mythological figures and humans (like standing in tapasya or holding the throat to stem the flow of poison) it kinda reveals the "uncreative" side of CVs...its one thing to be inspired by religious symbolism and quite another to take the uninventive and lazy path of copying existing legends rather than creating a unique and riveting love story.

Btw, Congratulations to all who replied to the TM for keeping it healthy and respectful...nicely done!

My favorite deities are Shiva and Parvati, and I was perfectly happy with the parallels up until this week, which was just overkill. All this time, Shiva and Parvati served as a subtle guide, but now it's like the CVs are trying so hard to emulate them via Rudra and Paro.

I realize Paro is a staunch devotee of God, as am I. I was able to digest the tapasya she did because she was just using it as inspiration to prove her love for Rudra. Her naive and misguided thought was to win Rudra over. The Neelkanth aspect that we've seen this week is what the CVs really messed up. Along with Paro's sacrifice, everything is just too in your face.

I really hope they tone it down and make Paro more human.

It appears that most of those who commented - like me - enjoy the subtle references in the story as opposed to the literal depiction. I was a little worried that the creatives were on the verge of possibly offending viewers and it seems they have offended a few judging by a couple of the replies. So i do hope the CV's keep it subtle from now on.

As for those who have no problem with it, that was also good to read because at the end of the day, i just want the show to work - and if the TRP audience lap it up then that should reflect in the numbers soon.

Thank you all for your comments and insight into the matter, and for not misreading my intentions. 😊
