Anita, dear don't worry. Everything is going to be fine in a few days. Ask her to visit a doctor and take full rest. At her age, it's always safe to do regular body check-ups.

I can fully understand how you feel now, Anita. Last year my mother was also ill and none of my family members informed me of this because I was doing my thesis submission. Even my mother used to call and talk normally saying that she was just a bit tired, when she was actually in hospital for a minor surgery. Though mothers always think of us first it does make us angry that we couldn't be for them at the time of their need.

Just go and spend some time with her and make her happy. I will include her in my prayers.

Sending good thoughts your way. 🤗

Dear Anita,
I understand your concern for your Mom. I lost my dad recently and spent most of last year helping mom deal with the loss. I worry about her all the time and call her/facetime her whenever I get a chance( she gets annoyed at times...but I cant help it). I know exactly what you are going through. Please check you PM in a few minutes.

Hi Anita, I am sorry for your mom and I am sure there is nothing serious. I would recommend taking her for sugar and blood- pressure tests. Our prayers are with you

She is 66 years old and lives alone though her sisters live very close by.She has not been having any major symptoms. The symptoms are sleeplessness, general uneasiness, lack of appetite, weakness and a throat irritation. This has been going on for 4-5 days. It seems like nothing major,at least on the outside. ...but she was sounding so low and tired...😕She has never complained of any such symptoms before and is normally ok...

I lost my dad some years back and am a bit paranoid about mom since then. She loves her independence and completely refuses to come and stay with me . Her slightest illness makes me worried ,but she has never sounded so tired till date. Am just feeling real low and uneasy.Don't know why 😭😭😭...Had done half the Take 5 but am simply not in the mood now...Can't get myself to complete it...

Will do one tomorrow

Anyone with any experiences of old ppl having such symptoms..Is this normal in old age or should I be concerned about it? Anyone willing to share experiences are welcome

Hope your mom feels better...stay strong!!!ConfusedConfusedConfused😊😊😊⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dearest Anita

I understand your stress level and the concerns and emotion going on in your mind. Been there done that for me.

Dont' worry, your mom shall be alright. Have faith, and I would also advise that she be taken to a doctor. I donno where you are, but, if your mom is in India... am sure, she is tired and worn out because of excessive heat also. I hear lots of stories from friends and relatives of how horrendous the hot weather it is presently.

TC & hugs

Hang in there. She will be fine. All our best wishes with you.
Do ask her to go to the physician though. Let her know its more so for your sanity. That does work magic..Trust me.
I have the same issue -folks growing old and am sitting several thousands of miles away. Its not easy especially when there is a crisis.
Make frequent trips. That does help.

Dear Anita,

Get her ECG done AT ONCE by a competent GP, and if necessary her echo cardiogram as well. If it is a case of mild congestive heart failure (which is NOT a heart attack) a good cardiologist will take care of it with regular medication.

CHF comes when the heart muscles are not able to pump the blood around properly, and it is revealed when the Ejection Fraction for the left ventricle falls too much. For a normal person, the EF should be 60%. For someone of your mother's age, 50% should be ok. But anything much lower needs immediate treatment,

My mother's was suddenly discovered to be only 10-15% 3 years ago, but we managed to stabilise it and even increase it a bit, though she needs constant monitoring and I too get worried whenever she looks washed out.

Of course it might not be CHF at all, but you have to rule it out. In the process, anything else that might be wrong will be spotted by a good GP, preferably your family one who is familiar with her constitution.

So get on with it. If it is CHF, she will have to come and live with you. She cannot manage by herself any longer. I have never travelled outside Pune since my mother was diagnosed with it in 2011.

I hope this is of some help. Don't worry, 66 is very young, it is close to my age! Nothing will happen to her. God bless
