Bollywood's much-loved actress Rani Mukerji shocked everyone when she tied the knot with her long-time beau and producer Aditya Chopra on April 21. While the clandestine romance wasn't a secret for the family members, the wedding turned out to be a bolt from the blue.
It's no news that the wedding was attended only by Rani's parents, her brother Raja and sister-in-law, besides her bestie Vaibhavi Merchant and friend Karan Johar. Surprisingly, Rani's close cousins, uncles and aunts were missing from the wedding that took place in Italy! The actress apparently hid wedding details from her extended family.
Apparently, one of Rani's cousins is referred as a loudmouth in the industry. Thus the actress, who has always been cagey about her liaison with Aditya Chopra, chose to be mum over her wedding affair.
It's learnt that the actress was worried that this cousin would go out and spill the beans, which she never wanted to as her now-husband Aditya Chopra is an extremely guarded and private person.
Rani's uncle Deb Mukerji and her cousin director Ayan Mukerji were also conspicuous by their absence. Incidentally, Ayan is more close to Rani's actress-cousin Kajol with whom she apparently shares cold vibes. Ayan and Kajol even appeared together on Koffee With Karan last month where Kajol even said that she wants to know when Rani is actually getting married.
