It depends on situation and the state of mind at that particular time. If someone knows that his approach is wrong and yet purposely goes on to do it then the approach itself is wrong. Seeking permission or forgiveness doesn't matter. If approach was due to an instant reaction then seeking forgiveness is justified.

I completely concur...

What do is the best approach taking permission for something or doing your thing and later seeking forgiveness?

More info

Please exempt scenarios relating to infedelity.

The link doesnt work for me either. But I say, doing something and seeking forgiveness for it later (or maybe never 😉 ). Yup, I'm a bit rebellious that way. Why ask for permission, when you can go ahead and do it anyway? Muhahahahahaha! 😈

Depends on how much authority you have over someone.. Asking for permission always works if you have authority otherwise seeking for forgiveness is the default anyway.. 😆

Sometimes you might even have to seek forgiveness for asking for permission for a dumb thing..😉

OMG - that cookie scenario sounds so much like me. Yup. Yup. I still stand by doing something and seeking forgiveness for it later...or maybe putting on a poker face and acting like you have no idea what they are talking about. What cookie? eh? Heck, if the cookies were that important, they shouldnt be lying out there, looking all inviting, tempting someone to take a bite 😛
