I think rajasthani men do wear pagdis on daily basis. Why not see all the shekhars and singhs wearing them on a daily basis and wearing those dhotis and angrakhis.

All the rules are only for womenfolk.

Banda, Bugatari, Pachewara and Khol form the traditional costume of the rural men. A dhoti is a long white cloth skillfully worn around the waist and draped to form gracefully loose breeches. An Angrakhi or a Jhari is a jacket like garment worn to cover the upper body. The Angrakhi may be short frock styled known as kamari angarakha' or long knee length garments. A shawl or Dhabla compliments the men's attire. Muslim men are given to wear Achkans and Kurtas. The kamarband or patka is a waistband (mostly simply a piece of cloth tied across the waist) that aids in holding a weapon or arm tucked into it.

The headgears of men are special and spectacular. Pencha, Sela, Saafa, Potia and Pagri are all an assortment of headgear sported by the men of the state. The Pagri is the most famous among these. It is usually 82 feet long and an 8 inch wide piece of cloth. It is used as a turban and the style of wearing it is influenced by the region, the climatic and socio economic status of the wearer. The natives of Udaipur, for example wear a flat turban while those from Jaipur sport slanting angular turbans. While those from Jodhpur, wear their Saafa (a shorter variety of turban) with curved bands to the front.

Like the sarpanch and other villagers do. I expected them to do so atleast during political campaign.

They are wearing achkans and kurtas which are supposed to be the attire of rajasthani muslim men.

Correct me if I am wrong.

You are right Leaves.
In past covering head was necessary for respectable people. Pagdi was izzat for a man, as was pallu a symbol of laaj and izzat for a woman. Even men leaving their heads uncovered after attaining a certain age was looked down upon. Hypocritical and funny how rules for men were forgotten and only ones for women remained!

Yes at least during election the candidate wears traditional dress. All our candidates wear that state's traditional dress or at least headgear when they set out to campaign. Wonder why Jagya was not wearing that pagdi or at least kurta pyjama/dhoti...
Candidates do that to increase connect with the folk who they are addressing in their campaign.
There is no badge of election symbol on Jagya's shirt, no banner on his jeep...kind of unrealistic.
Anandi was wearing traditional dress in her election. But even she did not sport any badge or topi of her symbol nor their jeep had their election symbol.

Campaign planning is going better and closer to reality in comedy series TMKOC than serious, issue based, trendsetter show BV.

Why doesn't Dadibua cover her head with pallu herself? And now by what standards is she going to taunt Anandi for being a divorcee, when she herself fled away from her home? In other words 'bhaagi hui ladki' or 'bhagodi' Why should she have a problem if Amol is an adopted child? When Shiv's parents are now okay with it, then who are you to raise this issue? What a hypocrite!

Dadi bua should not question about the adopted child of the family. Her son who was her own blood and whom she raised with all her good sanskar ,has left her alone in her old age. She should till now understand that it is the bond of love which matters than apna khoon.
She is quite hypocrite, came to live in her maika and preaching Anandi not to stay much in hers.🤢
Btw pallu wearing is not a big deal for Anandi. Rather she was enjoying having it.

She will not mind doing these small things which dadibua likes but once she will cross her boundaries and will try to hurt Amol or any other dear one of hers, she will show DB her place in her subtle way.

BV was somewhat authentic in language and dresses - still not everyone was made to speak the dialect. Isn't it strange that DS speaks the dialect but Basant, Bhairo, Sumitra all speak clear Hindi like city people (it is understood that Avika and Avinash could not be made to talk in the language of DS, but why not elders?). Anandi's mother, even Madan Singh and Mahavir Singh were traditional in attire as well as in language. Shakhers are urban people - so it is not difficult to understand that they do not wear pagdi etc.

Generally, all the rules are for women even in real life. Like in north India - during weddings - all the women have to wear sarees but men can marry in suits.

Ok I'm confused. I read posts saying that the bua fled away from her home. But in update, as far as i remember, I read that she married some guy her parents wanted to and that person left her when she was pregnant.😕 Did i read it wrong? Which one is true?😕

Only reason she will make trouble for anandi is because she is jealous just because her life is in tatters she can see how good anandi has it, just like when sanchi was jealous of anandi getting all the attention.
