A global Indian Idol
This Friday's going to be a double treat for viewers of Sony Entertainment Television. Sansui Boogie Woogie, which is celebrating 10 years of making people shake a leg, becomes a bi-weekly, at 8 pm every Friday and Saturday. And it'll be followed by the mega-musical extravaganza, Indian Idol. This episode traces the musical journey at the Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar and London auditions, where viewers will witness the enthusiasm of thousands of aspirants who come to this platform to live the dream of becoming Bharat Ki Shaan.
Kolkata, known as the land of art and culture, has given the country the best talent in every field. Be it Rabindra sangeet or any other classical form of singing, most participants had some training in music. The last two seasons of Indian Idol witnessed a huge response from Kolkata, raising the bar this season. Once again, Kolkata has given the nation the best talent to watch out for in the third season. The city of joy gave the judges lots to be glad about. "The contestants this season are exceptionally talented. Surprisingly, this time we have come across many youngsters between the ages of 16 and 18. The competition will get tougher as the show progresses," said Annu Malek, who's quite in awe of this year's talent.
While the Kolkata auditions had a mixed bag of emotions, the London auditions set an upbeat mood. It was for the first time that Indian Idol was going to London, and this was an opportunity for the participants to come to India and bond with fellow contestants. The two judges from India, Annu Malek and Alisha Chinai, loved the enthusiasm and eagerness of the participants. Earlier, the pre-casting was done by the London-based music director and composer Biddu.
This episode promises loads of masti, and some great musical performances. The coming weeks will see the eminent panel weed out the contestants to select the top 28. To join the suspense and excitement, tune in to Indian Idol every Friday and Saturday at 9 pm, only on Sony Entertainment Television.
