At the script reading session of Vidhu Vinod Chopra's movie Eklavya (previously titled 'Yagna'), Saif Ali Khan was completely bowled over when superstar Amitabh Bachchan began reading his dialogues.
In his 12 years of acting career in this industry, this is the first time Saif is getting to work with Mr. Bachchan. The movie by Vidhu Vinod Chopra was previously titled Yagna. But now the title has been changed to Eklavya, which is believed to be the name of Bachchan's character in the movie.
Before the shooting of the movie began in Rajasthan recently, there were rigorous script reading sessions in which Saif and Bachchan were face-to-face reading their dialogues.
How much impressed Saif was with Bachchan's voice and dialogue delivery is evident from what he told IANS: "In my misplaced confidence I always thought I had a good voice...until I heard Amitabh Bachchan reading out his lines...and I died."
Saif added: "He says every line as though it was Shakespeare! No matter how much you've heard about his mythic baritone it's still not enough to prepare you for the way he uses his voice."
Saif said although he was in the awe of Amitabh Bachchan, but while working with him he would try to place himself in his shoes and imagine how Bachchan himself must have felt when he worked in his younger days with seniors like Dilip Kumar (in Shakti).
Saif will continue shooting for Eklavya in Rajasthan for a month. His heroine in the film is Vidya Balan of Parineeta .
