Breaking news flash: Jodha ko kuch ho gaya. I have been asking for the last two weeks that I cannot relate to this Jodha ... She is not the Jodha that I fell in with on this show. How relieved when Bharmal asked the same question, "Are you the same Jodha?" If her father can ask her that, why can't I?
If this was any other Ekta Kapoor serial, I would have assumed that this was an imposter Jodha after face surgery. 😆 How much can a character change in the name of hurt? Does her basic instincts change?
Please tell me that Jodha did not do the following three things today:
(1) After she saw Jalal's reflection while floating the diya for Ganguar pooja, she again insists she will not go back to Agra. What is the purpose of the Ganguar pooja in her mind? Did this Jalal not tell her that by breaking his heart, he will have a worse punishment than death?
How can Jodha be shown even lying to God and as she is praying? No fond memories of Jalal in flashback ... Nothing except ... "I won't go back to Agra with him" ..At least, smile a bit ... Think of Jalal ... Then shake it off. That shows signs of internal turmoil.
(2) When Jalal first touches her ... Did she actually flinch in disgust? No emotional connect ... Nothing. No "ishq hai woh ehsaas." She doesn't even show concern he is injured? And the poor guy, keeps repeating he wants to talk to her. At least show concern a bit and then harden up.
(3) When she talks to Raja Bharmal she first asks, "What is he doing in my room" and by the way "Why is he hurt?" Is this the Jodha who was fervently praying for his well-being before? And now, she is more offended he is in his room than him being hurt?
CVs, you are not showing Jodha in internal turmoil at all ... You are showing her completely against Jalal and I am not sure why. Please fix this soon!
The real take 5:
Phew, now that I have said all that, you would think I had nothing to like about the episode but there were quite a few things to cheer about: 😊
(1) Jalal defeats Abul Mali: As we all expected, the sikka helped save his life ... I see this more as a symbol of Jalal's belief in his love that saved his life then Jodha's gift saving his life. As always, Jalal used his brains by throwing sand into Abul Mali's eyes and defeats him. Loved that in his dialogues he not only cites his love as one of the reasons he survived but also for his responsibility to his people. Thank God he still remembers he is the Shehenshah!
And who said he doesn't have a heart, he forgave Abul Mali for his sister again ?!?
(2) Even Jalal realizes the importance of the Gangour pooja: While I am not sure about Jodha's sentiments during the Gangour pooja, but as soon as Jalal finds out he is in Amer and it is Gangour ... He wants to see his Jodha Begum despite all his pain! That is how much Jodha and Gangour mean to him! Is pyaar ko kya naam doon?
By the way. I understand how he got to Amer with Bharmal sending his soldiers after him ... But I still do not understand how he got there so quickly? My guess: Jalal was actually subconsciously going in the direction of Amer instead of Agra and so he was actually very close go Amer when Abul Mali attacked him. The way Jalal runs after Jodha these days, like he did today, I would not be surprised.
(3) Memories of the last Gangour: This is a bittersweet one I am sure for many. Today, brought me back memories of the beautiful Gangour pooja where this whole love story started, at least for Jalal. Then, I saw a Jalal enamored with Jodha in the pond, as a puzzled, unknowing Jodha looked on. Today, I saw Jalal totally in love with Jodha, who wants to see her once in all his pain. And Jodha, still has questions in her eyes. We know at least one side of the love story has progressed ... When will the CVs show the other half!
Obviously, the CVs have completely disbanded logic by having Mainavati say it was the last Gangour that there was so much rain... So I guess they celebrated two Holis before Gangour ... How convenient!
(4) Mainavati and her reverse psychology: I almost lost all hopes for Mainavati when she told Bharmal that what will they do with Jamai Saa in Amer given Jodha is ao angry. But, she soon realized she was better than we thought! She used reverse psychology by saying why would Jodha go back and she was insulted so much. I loved it! Jodha did not know what to say, which is a good thing given her script writers these days,
And Mainavati knew what her antar aatma and all of us knew: Jodha wants Jalal to really keeping manaofying her. Now, what he has been doing all these days, I don't know! Jodha, can you let us know what you want Jalal to do?
(5) Bharmal wins the prize today for asking the question on all our minds, " Are you the Jodha Begum who broke all the rules to save a bird? This is your husband!" He said some other good things, like Jalal has been roaming for days to talk to you, but this dialogue won the prize for me.
And I felt like clapping and whistling! 👏
And while the precap looks cute, with Jodha on top of Jalal and Jalal looking at her with bewildered eyes ... Till we get our Jodha back, this is a mere lollipop. I am guessing she sees some bug or something next to Jalal and tries to take it off without disturbing him. Or perhaps, she was just leaning in to get her pillow ... so she can sleep elsewhere. Let us see if the CVs surprise us. I will keep expectations low so I can cheer tomorrow.
