Shagun Vs Ishita : A SHOW DOWN! 😊

During their Mumbai trip, the event managers of the American company had planned for a dance program to entertain the Americans and the bidders for the project. Raman asked if Ishita wanted to attend the show and she immediately said yes. He said, "Mujhe laga tumko sirf medical conferences mein interest hai...dance wagaira? Wow, tujhe suit nahi karta waise!". She said, "Dance suit nahi karta? Mujhe? Accha.. yeh aapne tab nahi socha jab mujhe zabardasti pakad ke dance karaa rahe the? Aapke first wife ko dikhane keliye? Maine dance to kiya tha na thoda bahut?", she asked. Raman just nodded to avoid further argument and asked her to get ready and then they drove to the venue. Ashok had a bad headache so he asked Shagun to attend the dance show and spare him alone in the room. Disgusted by that, Shagun thought of going with Adi, but use this chance to rekindle the feelings between Raman and her, hence insulting Ishita as a result. She reached the venue as well along with Adi.😡

Raman made Ishita sit to his right and Shagun occupied the seat to his left as she wanted and made Adi sit next to her. Raman smiled at Adi. He did too but in a sarcastic way as usual. He said, "Oh, aap aapki new wife ke saat aaye ho? To aap meri maa ke saat thode na baitoge...jaise maine hamesha chaha!". Ishita frowned at him and turned away. Raman said, "Beta! Maine aapko kitne baar kaha hai? Aapke wish ke aage koi nahi hai, kuch nahi hai! Aap chahte ho ki aapki mamma ke saat baitke show enjoy karoon? Karoonga! Bas aapki khushi chahiye mujhe aur kuch bhi nahi!" and turned to give a disgusting look at Ishita. Dance show was by a famous celebrity and the whole crowd seemed to love it. Everyone was howling, whistling and enjoying her entry. Raman and Ishita were watching her too with smiling faces. Shagun plotted her next move. Shagun caught Raman's hand and shouted, "Wow I can't believe it is her show! I'm so excited Raman!", in complete elation. Ishita noticed her holding Raman's hands and Raman noticed Ishita looking at it. He politely removed his hand from her hold when Shagun said, "Raman! What's wrong? Oh you've got a new wife, does that mean you will forget the old one?" and laughed pathetically. Ishita thought that was the worst sentence that can ever come from a divorced wife. But consoled herself that Shagun was capable enough to behave this low-cost. She left his hands and held his arms this time with both her hands and told Ishita, "Hey! You don't mind, do you? We are old flames!", with a naughty smile and a wink. Ishita was boiling in envy. Raman wanted to pull his hands from Shagun's hold but stopped resisting when he looked at Adi who was smiling at the sight of his mom sitting close to Raman. Ishita struggled to smile back at her, yet she flashed a sarcastic smile that read "Cheapo!" and continued to watch the show. Shagun continued to hold him from the side throughout the show. Ishita was completely aghast with Shagun, but wanted to hide her reaction at any cost. She still managed to stick the smile on her face. Raman whispered to Ishita in a soft voice, "Ishita! I will explain". She moved a bit closer to him and said, "It's ok Raman. You don't have to explain. Can I watch the show now please?". Raman read through the disgusted tone in Ishita's voice and secretly prayed for the show to get over soon. Adi, from time to time, checked on Raman and Raman smiled back at Adi every time reassuring him that his second wife is not important than his first family.

Once the show wrapped up, everyone got up from their seats and walked towards the parking. Shagun and Adi walked along with Raman and Ishita. Raman asked, "Shagun! So...how are you getting back to the hotel? Where is your car?". She replied narrowing her eyebrows, "Car? Our driver here in Mumbai dropped us here. He went back to take Ashok to the doctor if he needed..he is having a migraine!". Raman thought, "Woh saala free hogaya, aur migraine mujhe de diya!". Ishita tried to look elsewhere when they were conversing. He said, "You mean you want me to drop you to the hotel now?". "Yes of course! We are all staying in the same hotel, what's wrong?", Shagun asked. He said, "I think I should arrange another car for you, we have to visit Ishita's relative here in Mumbai". Raman lied and Ishita knew it. Shagun retorted immediately, "Raman! What happened to you? You never let me take a cab even when I wish to. You always, always, drop me...before marriage during our engagement period, till now during the curfew!". Ishita interrupted now and said, "Raman, it's ok! We can meet my relatives tomorrow. I guess you can drop them. I don't have any issue!". Shagun smiled at her and said, "You are so sweet, Ishita!". Adi was silently enjoying the whole conversation and the levels to which his mom can stoop to win Raman back amazed him. Not that he didn't understand any of her ordeals. Raman was sickened at the whole scenario that just happened and hoped that Shagun had at least a wee bit of sense before saying things to Ishita.

They reached the car and Raman opened the doors through the remote control. When Ishita was about to walk towards the front seat, Shagun sprung in and opened the front seat doors. She sat inside comfortably. Raman looked at Ishita with a sorry face and Ishita gave him a stare back. She sat in the back seat and Adi sat next to her in the back seat. He chuckled at the fact that she was pushed to the back seat by his mom. He felt proud of Shagun. Raman got inside with an appalled expression and shook his head once, not being able to digest what was happening. Throughout the way Raman thought of ways to console Ishita on Shagun's inappropriate behavior. Shagun was talking non-stop in the car telling Ishita about their engagement period and how sweet Raman was before so many years. Ishita was listening to everything from the back seat and waited impatiently for the hotel. A lone tear escaped her eyes in disgust. Raman was noticing all the expressions that Ishita had on her face, through the rear view mirror. He chose to be silent throughout as he thought that replying to Shagun will only make her talk more and reveal more information to Ishita. They reached their hotel and dropped Shagun and Adi. Raman wanted to go to another restaurant for dinner, so he didn't drive to the hotel parking.

Shagun, while getting down, said, "Oh Raman, wish you walked me to the door, but that would be like...too much!" and laughed. Raman faked a smile and as she got down, he asked Ishita to move to the front seat. She shifted seats and Raman continued to drive. He asked what she wants to have for dinner and he drove to McD as she wanted to just have a burger. They went to a drive Inn and picked the burgers and he chose Juhu beach to sit and relax. It was summer, so the sun was still on the verge of setting down, even at 7 pm. They walked and reached the sands of the beach, Raman sat on the sand over it facing the sunset. Ishita sat next to him looking at the sunset too. He turned to look at her in that faint light of the sun. She looked divinely beautiful and had her entire aura irradiated by the light of the dusk. He wanted to move closer to her at that instant but was a bit too uncomfortable to talk to her after all the gibberish that Shagun blurted out a while ago. He still decided to talk.

"Ishita! You ok?", he asked. "Of course! What's wrong with me?". "I can read it from your expressions Ishita. You are not happy. I'm so sorry about Shagun. She is just too overboard at times. I never thought she wouldn't have the basic courtesy to let you sit next to me for the obvious reason that you are my wife. She was too inappropriate..I'm sorry...I...!", he said in one breath. Ishita turned towards him and placed her hand on his hand to interrupt him. "Raman! It's ok! Oh please don't feel bad for it! Chalega, hota hai! We all have possessive relations. Maybe she just wanted to provoke me, so she wanted to emphasize on the fact that how special she was to you. I will just consider this as an immature behavior rather than an inappropriate one. And yeah, I'm glad you dropped her even during curfew without letting her go on her own. So...it's ok Raman!". Raman was eternally looking at her eyes when she spoke those lines. His heart was immensely filled that she had a matured outlook over this situation. He held her hand and asked, "So, are you ok with that all that? I'm sorry to have put you in this mess! Aren't you feeling bad at all?". She said, "No! Hm...Yes, I felt bad at certain instances!", while looking at the ground. "When?", he asked with a quizzical look. "When...she was hugging you from the side...I quite didn't like it...", she said still looking down. Raman had a smile of relief that it was not something that he cannot resolve. "Do you want me to make up for it?", he asked. "How?", she looked up at him. Raman moved closer to her. She smiled at him wondering why. He held both her hands with his hands and said, "Thanks Ishita! For everything...! I can't thank you enough even after the long tamil speach". She laughed and he took the first step to hug her from the side. It lasted throughout the sunset.😳
