what does 'TRP' mean

Can someone tell me what does TRP stand for?

how do they calculate trps?how do they know how many people are watching the show?do the audience vote after watching the show?

TRP stands for Television Rating Programme...it helps to indicate the popularity of a serial...dis is mostly useful for advertisers..coz higher d TRP's..means more advertisers are willing 2 sponsor a particular show..which in turn means more bucks for d channels...thus TRP rules..

now mainly there are rating agencies for calculating TRP's..i am not sure which one operates in India...but these agencies use electronic gadgets known as people meter..which are fitted in d television sets of sum houses used as samples...this gadgets help them to determine d shows mostly preferred and seen by dem...this is how TRP's are determined..actually it has a lot of errors..and der r speculations dat mostly TRP's are rigged.. 🤢

anyways d bottom line is TRP's determine d amount of money d advertisers are willing 2 pay 2 d channels for their shows...if d bucks stop coming..d channel loses interest in dat serial or show..and it is taken off air 😕

No, Chaska meter is just on India Forums, not in reality!

They only plant the devices in some homes? This sounds very unfair. Channels need to stop relying on TRPs, instead have a national vote from viewers. Maybe like Indian Idol, use SMS!!!😆
