Hey sweeties ...It's a lazy Saturday for me ..and can't seem to get RKB out of my head ...wish I could hug him tight and tell him - go for her ...forget the past and acknowledge your present ..Anyway so far, the only glimpses of IshRa's closeness we've had are forced ones - Either to dress up Ishu at Ruhi's school or a hug to prove to Ruhi and the likes ...My idle brain came up with another forced closeness...this time a rather bold one and in the light of the current happenings ...
Here it goes! ..Some might consider it mature content ...I'll try and keep it as subtle as possible :-)
It's the day after Tamil new year and the celebrations ..Ishita is elated with Raman's speech - She's all smiles ..She wakes up early. She remembers she has to go see her Gynec to collect her test report. She gets ready but feels very tired. Raman asks her what happened and she said she was tired and feeling a bit light headed. She said she has to go to the gyn to collect her report and today the full family will know the truth about the pregnancy. He says in her current state she cannot drive, and that he will drive her and then drop her back and then go to work ..
She agrees and the head to the gyn. At the gyn, the doctor calls them in. At first Ishita goes, but the doctor notices Raman and says he is your husband - ask him to come in too. She tells Ishita, Ishita, you are a doctor yourself, so i'm going to be very open and honest with you - right now you are not pregnant but when I looked at your past reports, it doesn't seem impossible for you to conceive. Yes, the chances might be low - but it isn't impossible. She tells Raman and Ishita, that if they are not prepared for a baby now, they should think about contraception. She discusses different options. Raman is embarrassed. He gives that look (you know that look that makes us drop-dead!) to Ishita.
The doctor goes on to advice, that after a certain age women should also self exam them - you know to check for lumps and things like that to make sure there's nothing growing in there...that saves a lot of women from diagnosing breast cancer at a much later stage. She says she was practicing in London where they teach their patients and hubbies to perform a self test. She said she will teach Ishu and Raman too so they can stay healthy. Raman says he'll wait outside and that she can examine and teach Ishita. The doctor says ..you are her husband - you have to help her - there is no need to shy away. I came back to India to practice medicine because I wanted to educate women - to make them more knowledgeable and all this needs support and help from the husband too. Raman hesitantly stays back.
The doctor asks Ishita to undress into the hospital gown. She shows her how and where to check her self - with her left hand up - she asks her to feel her left breast with the right hand - and tells her it needs to feel soft. Now it's Raman's turn. He needs to know how to check too. The doctor insists the women in all developed countries do this exam and it has saved a lot of lives. Raman is once again forced to do something with Ishita, that he cannot get himself out of. He looks at her - his eyes say it all - he doesn't have a choice. He slips his hand under her gown - he wants to get it over with - he is embarrassed - he hasn't touched a woman in over 7 years - not even thought of it. His palm accidentally caresses her (you know what) - It's electrifying and sends a shiver down Ishita's spine. Raman is dazed. He quickly gets his hand out and blurts out a sorry. The doctor tells Ishu - you have such a gentleman for a husband. You are very lucky. The doctor asks them if they understood how to perform the examination. Both vehemently reply in the affirmative. Ishu gets dressed and they leave. On the way back in the car, Raman apologizes again to Ishu - Ishu is lost in a daze and can't stop thinking about her examination by Dr. Raman
