Qazi and Sandeep: Superstars in the making?

Fame Jodi is what each one of the remaining contestants of Fame Gurukul aspires to be..but wait on they have other plans at the back of their mind as well. While Qazi Tauqeer would like to become a 'superstar', Sandeep Batra would like to become a playback singer. Qazi travelled from Srinagar to Mumbai and became a hot favourite with the Indian audience in no time and Sandeep got a chance to enter the Gurukul just when it was ready for the much thought about twist in the Fame Gurukul tale.

Kavita Shyam went into the sets of Fame Gurukul to have a heart to heart chat with the two of them..

Tell us about your experience with Fame Gurukul so far?
Qazi: I came a long way from Srinagar just to make it big. It is simply unbelievable how an untrained singer like me could come so far in the competition. I have been saved eight times by the Indian jaanta because jaan lagake perform karta hoon and I know I have it in me to make it to the top.
Sandeep: This has been a great platform to learn and unlearn my knowledge as far as music is concerned. Being in Fame Gurukul needs immense amount of dedication and is not a child's play for sure.

What do you have to say about the tough competition on between all you guys?
Qazi: I take no tensions and believe in myself completely. I work hard on my singing and perform with a lot of passion. I do my best and leave the rest on the judges, audience andAlmighty.
Sandeep: We are monitored through out the day and have to constantly try to give our best shot. People don't understand what we go through,we hardly sleep at times and they think we are here to just perform and enjoy ourselves. What goes behind all the performance is sheer hard work.

Are you conscious of the camera which is on for u all 24/7?
Qazi:I am very natural in front of the camera and don't over act or anything of that sort. I like performing and being in front of the camera.
Sandeep:I just try to be myself and am not at all camera conscious. Besides my confidencelevel has gone up.

We are a family???

What changes do you see in yourself after joining Fame Gurukul?
Qazi:When we go out at times, I get to see how much people really like me when they start shouting out my name.
Sandeep:My confidence level has increased manifold and I am thoroughly enjoying my rehearsals, choreo-sessions, recording and the works .My personality has undergone a sea change and trying o better myself.

What do you feel about the judges and the faculty members and the contestants voting out their competitors?
Qazi:The judges have always been fair to all of us and the faculty has trained us to become something big someday. How I perform now is a result of what I have learned from each one of the teachers and the remarks of the judges. I vote for the contestants purely on the basis of their performance and friendship and other such things don't work for me here. I prefer to stay out of the politics anywhere. When the judges fight over a contestant it really bothers me.

Sandeep: The judges and the faculty members have all been so supportive, I am thankful to all. I think the contestants vote intelligently without any biasness.

Given a chance whom would you like to be a Fame Jodi with?

Qazi: The surprise package that has taken the country by storm

Qazi: Well,it keeps varying but maybe Rex.
Sandeep::-I think I would like to be paired with Arijit but I also get along famously with Rex and Qazi.

If you don't make it to the Fame Gurukul as a Fame Jodi where do you go from here?
Qazi:I would like to become a Superstar. I have always wanted to become an actor and become well-known. But for now I'd like believe that I am here to stay in Fame Gurukul.
Sandeep: I aspire to become a playback singer and make it big in Mumbai in the future.
