Few things before I continue with what I wrote yesterday.

I understand and support the fact the she left Agra like any self respecting woman should have done. I agree with Maddy that when he questions her act of vishpaan( not sure why no one talks about this) ...it sounded like he did that just to convince himself that she was never loyal to him. If we sit and think about it, does it make any sense for her to give up her life for a man she hates. To me, this accusation from him was the most hurtful one. Calling her courageous and selfless act as an act of malice? Why? Because he was not willing to be rational and give her credit for anything that she had done for him during his outburst.

Her inability to offer explanations when Jalal was yelling at her are also understandable. Vachan in the begining of the outburst and sheer shock in the later part. Look up the defination of emotional, verbal and physical abuse and how women respond under those circumstances...doubts if any will be cleared.

I am probably in a minority for thinking that she was not at fault by hiding Sujamal's truth from Jalal. Even some Jo supporters think it was wrong on her part to do it and blame Sujamal and Jo for the whole misunderstanding. I don't agree and have stated my reasons in detail in several posts in the past. What if one of us has to pick between a husband's trust and a brother's life? I can speak for myself...brother's life. Offering her brother's head on a platter to her husband is not Pativrata dharm or a sign of love...at least not in Rajvanshi culture.

But I agree with you that she should face the situation and not run away from it...not because it is the right thing to do but because it is inconsistent with her characterization...love or no love...she never shyed away from speaking the truth and facing a difficult situation because of the fear of humiliation or hurt. And this was a consistent trait till yesterday's episode. Hiding when she knows that Jalal is looking for her? So not like her.

Another inconsistency is her reluctance to run to Jalal's side when he was fighting the goons. She is a brave woman and considers herself a 'yodha' . And we know that she is a good one...she too would hv been able to beat at least 3-4 goons into a pulp. Even for most of us who are not trained warriors, our instinct in a situation like this will be ' fight and not flight' when a loved one is wounded and surrounded by people wanting to kill him...so her standing there as a mute but very distressed spectator can't be explained because her upbringing , beliefs, training and love for Jalal will not let her do so. To me...CVs butchered her character yesterday for two reasons.

1. because they wanted to show Jalal fight like a 1980's bollywood hero and save the damsel in distress. And he fought well...like a true yodha...the scene was a treat to watch...a pro TRP scene.

2. They wanted the ME 'meeting' to be impactful...people will be sitting on edge of their seats biting their nails eagerly waiting for the leads to finally have an eye contact.

Hope they realize that Jodha is one of the most loved characters on Indian TV and if they show too many inconsistencies...it will not sit well with the viewers...people love her for her rectitude, honesty and courage because that is what makes her different. None of us wants to see her like a helpless Abla naari shedding tears in front of Kanha.
