Part 9(A)

AnZee hv reached d fashion show venue in d hall in their car. Najma too reached d venue in a taxi. Najma was dressed in a brown off-shoulder top n jeans. Najma goes near AnZee.

Najma's outfit

"Aapi, we sud go inside n hv our seats," said Najma.

"Yes, u r right," said Zeenat.

D anchor comes on d stage n announces d name of some fashion designers including taking Zoya Farooqui's name dat vl showcase their latest party wear designs.

Dilshad is watching a fashion channel on which d show is being telecast. Asad watches it while hiding behind d wall of d hall. Tanveer is not in d home.

Zoya wid her models n interns is backstage along wid other fashion designers waiting for her turn. Some fashion designers turns come wid some of waiting.

Ayaan too is watching d show on TV in his room. He is enjoying d show. Ayaan is called by Rashid in d hall.

"Now, I vl hv to miss it for some time," said Ayaan disappointedly n turns off d TV before going in d hall.

Scene shifts to d stage.

"Now, New York fashion designer Zoya Farooqui's party wear collection vl be showcased by her models," said d anchor.

Zoya's dress

AnZee n Najma clapped hard along wid d crowd to cheer her up. Dilshad smiles as Zoya's name is taken. Asad who is watching while hiding thinks abt how he tore Zoya's dress.

Some of model couples starts showcasing Zoya's designs. Yuvraj n Suvreen r showstoppers among d models. Zoya walks d ramp at last n goes. Zoya then walks d ramp along wid models. AnZee n Najma cheers her up while sitting in d crowd. Dilshad smiles getn happy seeing Zoya. Asad sees Zoya walking d ramp in one-shouldered orange dress n smiles. Zoya is then given a mike by d anchor to give speech while standing between d models.

"Dis is my 1^st show in India. I wanted to become a fashion designer since I was 6. I wud like to give d credit of me being here in dis show to my parents, my elder sister, my brother"in-law, my friend Najma, my employees, teams of intern n models. Thank u," said Zoya.

Dilshad n Asad smiled @ her speech. Dilshad was sad dat Zoya did not tuk her name. Asad too was shocked dat Zoya did not tuk Dilshad's name but he was d reason for it.

"Zoya had wanted to become fashion designer 4m d age of 6 n I tried to ruin her childhood dream. I told her those nasty n regressive statements n I even tore her dress in anger. I wish ammi n I were also in d crowd n cheering for Zoya," thinks Asad.

Some more fashion designers showcase their designs before d show gets over. Zoya dresses back in beige top n jeans. She meets AnZee n Najma outside d venue n hugs.

"U hv done a great show, Zoya," said Zeenat wid a smile.

"V r very proud of u," said Anwar wid a smile.

"Zoya, u were really very awesome," said Najma wid a smile.

"I really love u all for cumn here to support me," said Zoya wid a smile.

They talk for some more time. After dat, Najma goes in a taxi while Zoya goes wid AnZee in their car. They stop @ a restaurant to celebrate Zoya's show. After dat, they go to their homes separately.

Next day, Nuzhat is reading newspaper in her room. In entertainment section, a page is occupied fully wid d last evening's fashion show. Nuzhat sees photos of some fashion designers who showcased their designs. She is shocked to find Zoya's photo among those fashion designers. She reads d line below her photo-New York fashion designer Zoya Farooqui showcasing her party wear designs. Nuzhat gets angry @ dat.

In KV, Dilshad n Najma r happily seeing Zoya's photo in d paper.

"Ammi, see how beautiful Zoya is luk in d photo," said Najma wid a smile.

"I am very happy for her. I wish I was there to support her," said Dilshad wid a smile.

"Ammi, Zoya is @ her right place being angry wid u. U had faith on bhaijaan dat he vl change n come out of his stupid regressive thinking n he vl start being nice wid Zoya but he disappointed u by proving u wrong. U truly loved Zoya but u sud hv never married her to bhaijaan. Dats only d mistake u did. Bhaijaan never deserved Zoya. Asad in his room is lukn @ Zoya's photo in d newspaper. Tanveer who is standing near his door wid 2 cups in her hand is getn jealous. She knocks on d door n Asad luks up 4m d newspaper. Tanveer enters d room n comes before him wid d cups in her hands.

"Jammy, I hv brought coffee for u," said Tanveer.

"Thanks," said Asad.

While handing his cup to him, she purposely spills some coffee on Zoya's photo.

"Tanu, wat u did?" asked Asad annoyingly.

"I am so sorry, Jammy," apologized Tanveer, "Plz, hv ur coffee."
"I am not in d mood. I want to be alone," said Asad.

"Okay Jammy," said Tanveer n left his room wid d cups of coffee.

Asad luks @ Zoya's photo which was destroyed due to coffee. He recalls Zoya playing games on his bed n offering to bring coffee for him wen he came 4m d office but he instead called out Najma to brig coffee for him n talked rudely wid Zoya teln him dat she did not need to bring coffee for him. He again luks @ Zoya's coffee spoiled n gets upset.

Tanveer who was outside Asad's room thinks annoyingly, "I wanted to hv coffee wid Jammy but due to Zoya, it got ruined. Asad did not even drank d coffee made by me."

Scene shifts to SM hall where everyone except Nuzhat r there. Nuzhat comes in d hall wid d newspaper in her hand.

"Luk @ dis, everyone. Zoya has participated in New Year's fashion show along wid other fashion designers. See, wat type of dress she is wearing. Bhaijaan has married such a characterless girl. She is such a blot in d Khan family," said Nuzhat wid frustration.

"Mind ur language, Nuzhat. She is 7 years elder than u," said Rashid angrily, "She is only doing a fashion show like other fashion designers. U sud learn some manners to talk abt ur elders. She is close to ur Asad bhaijaan's age. Show some respect for her."
"Abbu called me yesterday in d hall while I was watching d same show. Dat means I miss Zoya n some other fashion designer's show," thinks Ayaan.

3 days later, Zoya returns to KV. 3 weeks hv passed since d filing of divorce. Zoya is dressed in a blue top wid white polka dots n jeans. Zoya hugs Najma ignoring Dilshad, Asad n Tanveer before going to her room.

After some time, Asad is bathing in his bathtub. He luks @ d basin n sees Zoya before him closing her eyes in embarrassment. She then throws a black towel @ him while laughing. Asad then luks for d towel on himself n realizes dat he was imagining. He recalls Zoya entering his bathroom by mistake n explaining him dat she did not knew he was here but he tuk her wrong as usual teln her annoying dat there is a limit to shamelessness.

At night, Asad stealthily goes near d kitchen n sees Zoya making coffee for herself. He is shocked to see dat Zoya is drinking black coffee dat aslo widout sugar.

Asad recalls how she used to drink coffee wid sugar n milk.

"4m how long Zoya is drinking black coffee widout sugar?" thinks Asad, "I always drink coffee like dis n now Zoya is drinking in d same way. Is she becumn bitter like me?"

He goes 4m there. He comes again after some time n sees Zoya cooking rice, dal n aloo gobi sabzi. She then starts making rotis dat r as usual not in shape n not properly cooked. Asad recalls tasting Zoya's food, throwing it angrily off d table, insulting her for making bad food n Zoya throwing d food teln everyone dat she vl cook her own food.

Zoya sits down to eat. She starts eating.

"Zoya, as usual rotis r out of shape. Rice n dal r okay but sabzi is a little too oily," said Zoya to herself while eating d food.

After some time, Zoya finishes eating n leaves d kitchen while Asad hides. Asad had noticed dat some food is still left in d utensils while only rotis r finished. Asad recalls Zoya teln him to stay away wen she burnt her n show his fake concern. Asad enters d kitchen n recalls wat he said to Zoya wen she made food for everyone.

"Ammi, its good dat I tasted it 1^st. Eventhough she is a woman n daughter-in-law of dis house she cannot even cook properly. D rotis r not in proper shape n not properly cooked. Koftas r tasteless. D soup is too much spicy. Kababs n pizza r fine but don't if there is some fault in them too. I tasted 1^st cuz I cannot trust her cooking."

"If she wud hv done efforts then her food wud not hv been awful."

He has a guilty expression on his face. He eats a little bit of dal, rice n sabzi made by Zoya. He finds sabzi a little too oily but he did not complains abt it.

He then drinks water n goes back to his room lukn hurt.

Next night, Asad again eats a little of wat Zoya had cooked. Zoya who returned to kitchen again after some time finds sumthn different wid her left food thinking as if someone else ate it but she brushes off her thoughts. Next night, Tanveer sees Asad going near d kitchen. She gets annoyed wid Asad wen he sees Zoya cooking n eats a little of her food wen Zoya is not around. Tanveer goes to her room annoyingly seeing all dat.

"4m wen, all these r going on? Asad is eating Zoya's food widout even Zoya knowing abt it. Jammy is getn more drawn 2wards Zoya these day," said Tanveer annoying.

Asad continues to eat a little of Zoya's food every night while Tanveer watches annoying.

A week later, 4 weeks has passed since 1^st divorce signing.

Asad is sitting on his bed. He recalls Zoya destroying their wedding attires n gift item along wid throwing her engagement ring angrily. He recalls her hurt n teary face.

"I sud talk wid Zoya again n convince her to change her decision," said Asad to himself.

He goes to Zoya's room. She was wearing a light blue shirt n jeans. He knocks her door n enters her room.

"Asad, u here?" asked Zoya.

"Zoya, I know I did a lot of mistakes but I am very guilty for dat. Plz Zoya, change ur decision of divorcing me. Plz, don't leave me n my family," replied Asad.

"U again started ur drama, Asad," said Zoya wid a smile, "U sud be happy dat u r finally getn rid of me dat u always wanted. U only married cuz of ur ammi's pressure. I am sure dat even now u want me back so dat u can make ur ammi happy n prove to her dat u r not bad. U even don't know wat u really want. He recalls Zoya offering her friendship to him n how he rejects it by talking to her rudely. He recalls Zoya getn hurt due to dat. He luks @ his bed again to find Zoya disappeared 4m d bed realizing it was his imagination.

"Zoya said right dat y she wud come back to a man like me. I hv never given her any happiness but only hurt her. Cuz of me, she has changed so much. She is hardly d old Zoya. Now, I understand how it feel likes to always get insulted," said Asad to himself.

Asad recalls how Zoya was talking to him angrily wen they met for d 1^st time n Asad told her dat no one talked to him like dat before. To which Zoya retorted dat dats y he became so mannerless. Zoya said true abt him. He can't expect anyone to talk wid him angrily but he can talk wid anyone how he pleases. He really has a lot of ego in himself.

3 days later, a month has passed since 1^st divorce signing. Zoya is walking in d mall. She is wearing a green one-shouldered dress. Haseena n Chand who were also @ d mall sees Zoya.

"Baaji, she is Zoya. Asad s wife," said Chand.

"Come, lets talk wid her," said Haseena.

They come before her n smiles. Zoya starts doing sumthn on her I-Pad to ignore them.

U sud not hv think of divorce over such small issues. And he may be upset wid u for working outside. I did not want Nikhat to continue her studies cuz she has to sit in home only. Wat she vl do by studying further. And if she goes out to study then her complexion vl become more dark n it vl be become very hard to find a suitable bridal dress for her. Asad may be upset wid u r working outside wen none of his sisters vl get to do dat. Like me, he also wants daughter-in-law of d house to only manage n not work outside. U sud understand ur husband, Zoya beta. U sud really understand wat he may be going thru," replied Haseena.

"Haseena Bi, u done wid ur speech or sumthn is still left?" asked Zoya wid a sarcastic smile.

"No Zoya, nothing is left now," replied Haseena wid a smile, "I only want to advice u to think abt ur relationship wid Asad n think sumthn to save it otherwise Asad vl hv to face embarrassment in d society dat his wife divorced him just after 2 weeks of marriage."

"Haseena Bi, I am getn late," said Zoya wid a smile n went out of d hall.

"Chand, I hv said all these things to her for fun," said Haseena wid a smile.

Scene shifts to Zoya sitting in her car.

"Haseena Bi, do u think dat u can only hv fun? I know wat game u r playing," said Zoya wid a smirk, "Now, I am going to hv my fun in a proper way wid a proper person."

Zoya then drives her car.

Asad comes home n sees a white curtain in d hall. No one was @ home. He gets shocked. As he steps further, a video starts playing on d curtain. D video is d convo of Haseena n Zoya @ d mall. Asad sees d video n gets shocked.

"Who has set dis curtain n video here?" thinks Asad n luks around.

Just then he sees Zoya cumn 2wards him wid a smirk on her face.

"Zoya, u did dis?" asked Asad lukn puzzled.

"Yaa, its me," replied Zoya wid a wink as she came before him.

Zoya then recalls wid a smile how she was actually doing video recording on her I-Pad cuz she sensed dat Haseena n Chand vl speak some bullshit like always.

"Now, I came to know y u did not accepted my offer of friendship," said Zoya staring @ him, "U even increased ur insults n taunts on me after our marriage cuz I n my family did not gave any dowry to ur house which u had expected. So, u started hating me more n never let me leave in peace."

Asad gets shocked.

"Zoya, it nots true," said Asad, "I did not wanted any dowry 4m u."

Zoya laughs loudly n starts to circle him.

"Lie. All lies," said Zoya while circling him, "I got my answer 2day @ d mall 4m d conversation of ur darling teddy bear Haseena Bi. Well, forget Haseena Bi n just luk @ urself. V all know dat u r physically in 21^st century while mentally in 17^th century. U r not a bit like ur own ammi n ur own sister Najma. Zoya comes before him n stares @ him. Asad gets more shocked. He recalls all d nonsense n regressive things he said to Ayaan. He recalls how Ayaan always complained abt Haseena taunting Nikhat on her skin n her other tantrums but he tuk it coolly.

Zoya snaps her fingers @ his face n asks, "Wat r u thinking, Asad? I am sure ur beloved Haseena Bi had taught u how to make ur wife's life miserable to get ur way n to put her down? U cud not even digest d fact dat I vl work outside while none of ur sisters vl get to do so. They vl sit @ home even after their marriage n u wanted me to do d same. In other common things, u can only think like a 17^th century man. Asad is pacing to n fro in his room. He recalls Haseena teln him dat she vl find another girl for him who is tradition n vl keep him happy. He then recalls wat he saw on d curtain abt Haseena teln stupid things to Zoya on how she sud understand Asad n save her marriage.

He recalls Zoya's words.

"Asad, r u innocent or stupid or both?"

"If u vl use ur brain properly, u vl understand. But u hardly use ur brain in common n useful things. Use ur brain n understand on ur own wat I mean."

"Dis Haseena Bi is a chameleon who changes colours," said Asad wid frustration, "Wat d hell she really wants? Zoya is already very angry n she is poisoning her mind even more against me. Asad thinks how much Zoya has changed since she has left d house by breaking her relation wid him. Wat has gotten into him dat he turned out to be like Shirin's family instead of his family wen it came to being orthodox n judging people? Wasn't he felt bad for Zoya wen he see her crying in dargah? But he showed his real face wen during their 1^st meeting, he came to know dat she is 4m New York n how she was shouting @ him? She may hv thought him one of d goons of Akram n being in dat situation anyone cud think dat especially wen they r accidently run over by their car. After dat, they again had a couple of encounters wid Zoya still thinking him to be after her life. Wen she came to his house, she got to know dat he is not a goon n she started being normal wid him n trying to be friendly wid him but he always judged her by her clothes n her way of living. After marriage, he became more mean wid her dat one day she had an outburst n left d house. Asad keeps on thinking how he cud not bear d sight of her bubbly n cheerful smile n laughter. But now, her bubbly n cheerful smile n laughter turned into mocking n taunting smile n laughter. She started drinking black coffee widout sugar just like him. Asad thinks how he is missing old Zoya. But old Zoya is killed n he has killed her. But somewhere in new Zoya, old Zoya is still alive in her. Yes, she hates him n vl always hate him but still she is very good @ heart. Now, she even accuses him of expecting dowry 4m her. But he is only responsible for her thinking abt him like dis. He has to do sumthn to prove her wrong. Asad comes out of his thoughts.

At night, Asad is walking in d garden. He gets a call 4m Ayaan.

"Hello," said Asad.

"Hello bhaijaan, dis Haseena Bi is intolerable. Some moments ago on phone, Haseena Bi has given a list of cloths n gift items to abbu. Now, abbu has told me to shop for them 2mrw. Haseena Bi just keeps on making list n list n list," said Ayaan in frustration.

"Wat?" asked Asad shockingly, "Haseena again gave a list for shopping."

Zoya comes out of nowhere n takes Asad's cell.

"Ayaan, don't forget to remove d price tag dis time," said Zoya wid a laugh.

"Zoya, wat u r doing wid bhaijaan's cell?" asked Ayaan annoyingly.

"Zoya, give my cell," said Asad but Zoya does not gives him.

Zoya runs a little away 4m him while laughing heartily n replies Ayaan wid a laugh, "Ayaan, its not important for u to know dat wat I am doing wid ur bhaijaan's cell. Its important for u to remember to remove d price tags 4m d gifts before giving to dat Hippo otherwise d volcano vl burst again n who knows she vl threaten again to break d relation."

Ayaan gets shocked. Zoya throws d cell @ Asad wid a smile n he catches it.

"Hello Zoya," said Ayaan.

"Its me, Asad," said Asad.

"Bhaijaan, wat type of a psycho u got married?" asked Ayaan wid irritation.

"Ayaan, she is not a psycho," replied Asad.

"Ayaan, calm down. Anyways, u don't need to buy those things," said Asad.

"R u going to buy those things then?" asked Ayaan.

"Neither u nor me vl buy those things. V r 4m bride's side dat does not means v sud bow down to them. They vl only take us for granted. If they really like Nikhat then they sud not trouble us now n then. U only said na Imraan never stands for Nikhat. But he can shamelessly ask for 80 lakhs car. Does he even know how much 0(zero) 80 lakhs has? V r getn our Nikhat married not selling her. They vl keep on demanding 4m us like shameless people. "If I can't make Asad go against Zoya then I vl make Zoya go against Asad n dis time I vl make Zoya vl hate Asad even more," said Tanveer wid an evil smirk.
